I had to resurrect this thread from the depths.

I bought the BOB boxset and watched them all this week. It's simply brilliant. I really can't find the words to describe it. The effects for a TV series were simply stunning & the acting was excellent.

I'm just going to watch the bonus disc tonight and then I'm done.

If you haven't seen it, watch it now.

No doubt, one of the best TV series ever made. I have the metal DVD box too, got it for my 18th birthday and it was reportedly the last metal box in the town. It beats just about any other WWII movie (the episodes are long enough to be short movies) hands down. 👍

I watched it all on TV years ago, and will be buying it on DVD soon. My girlfriend has it i think but want a copy of my own. :)

AWESOME series.

I have the metal boxed set as well, and in a strange coincidence have also been re-watching them this week.

Its an excellent series and one well worth revisiting over and over again.

Scaff

Band of Brothers?

Yes, I do watch the watered-down episodes on the History Channel quite often. A classmate of mine was an extra in episode 6 & 7, hes part of a Nazi reenactment group (he does stuff for the 82 Airborne as well).

Probably my favorite WWII series of all, although I do have the Ken Burns thing coming on Netflix...

This is by FAR the BEST WWII mini-series I have ever watched. Saw it on tv years ago and ever since then I had been hanging out to buy it (had to wait till I had a job though, since I was only in high school when I watched it)

So like Andrew said, I bought a copy. Couple years ago now, got the Metal Case one as well, for NZ$79 (which going by your prices of US$80 was a steal :P )
