Cmon PD the Aussies need Bathurst and some Aussie classics to go with it

Preaching to the choir sunshine. Have a look in the feedback section. Vote too if you'd like. :)

NO!!! It was a DLC for Grid and...it would be a nightmare to have a good race online with.

I fail to see how this track would pose a problem online in GT5. IRL there are about 40 cars on track for the enduros. There would only be 16 in GT5. But as I don't really play online, maybe I'm missing something?

Bathhurst is a very skinny track. Up on the hill with the walls on both sides and narrow, winding road. I could see it now, pile up! People bumped off the road even on the straights. It would be a super challenge in A-spec but definitely not online!

Sounds like nurburgring...that track must be hated...👎

I get where you're coming from, but surely with a group of 'clean' drivers from your friends list, Bathurst would be a blast, and more of a challenge than in A-spec.

And as I was typing this, a Falcon XR8 popped out of a 2000 ticket. Happy Days :)

Have you driven there?? I have. It's NOT a skinny track. There's quite a few areas where cars can go two wide around the corner. Even at the tightest corner of the track, Forest Elbow, there has been PLENTY of passes over the years.

I'm going to show you some footage of different categories racing at Mt.Panorama.

First off - Aussie Racers

Next - V8 Supercars

Next - Group A Touring Cars from 1990

Notice how in all of those videos, there was a lot of 2 wide driving into the corners?? Yeah, just shows it's not a skinny track.

Thank you for providing visual evidence of my point. 2/3rds of that course they are driving single file. How many people would attempt to pass in that section on-line? Even that "professional" driver couldn't handle the first lap of that course.

A-spec, with your friends, a seasonal, a club, but not on-line. That hill section is incredibly technical. Even Nurburgring doesn't have a up/down section as technical as bathurst. Sections are even MORE narrow than Nurburgring.

Yes, a "professional" driver couldn't handle a left rear tyre blowout at 220-260km/h, shame on him!

Bathurst is a track I want along with Spa, give me those two and I won't ask for anymore tracks.

My bad, you're right. Tire blow-out. However, I still say I wouldn't want Bathurst. Spa should be a standard in the GT series.

You just described almost all racing. Road racing is done single-file and even in NASCAR on ovals they eventually line up one after another if you give them time to spread out a bit. Cars normally just go side-by-side when overtaking, and normally don't spend much time beside one another. Up to the overtake and following the overtake they resume single-file racing.

Totally agree. Just saying Bathurst is a difficult course where you'd find people trying to pass constantly at the wrong time and place it would not be an enjoyable experience.

I would love Bathurst and any tracks PD could add to the game. Since when has online playability become the barometer for if a track should be added to the series? First, if you are racing with the right people it won't be a problem. Second, if you can't find a clean race on that track then avoid it. But don't forget that a large portion of the GT community are time trialers and hot lappers who would love any new track they can get, narrow or not.

I think it would be fun to race on this track after seeing so much footage of it on TV and Youtube.

Some of the races are epic.

Also, I would like some Aussie V8 Supercars too (please).

I wonder why PD could have possibly decided to leave Bathurst and Spa from being in the game. Was Nurburgring that much of a nightmare to replicate? Did they ever state how long it took to create it? If not, WHY NOT!

Is there really a "wrong" place to pass someone? Didnt anyone watch the F1 a few weeks ago? Lewis got Vettel on a part of the track that nobody really used for passing, got around, and won the race. Timing is critical.

I'm sure everyone agrees that those should be in GT5 👍 We all have a list of tracks we'd love. At the top of mine, alongside the
above, are Road Atlanta, Road America and Brno

Hell yes. Bathurst and a VL Turbo/walkinshaw. I would be in heaven ;)

Pffft, gimme a Group A R32 GTR :D

Chargers, Toranas, Monaros(real ones), Falcon GT HOs, Cortinas, Brock's Volvo, Bartlett's Camaro and so on.

But please, I'll drive 92 different Miatas if you give me Bathurst. I want Australia's track.

If you don't like Bathurst... Don't race it? It's a great track and it should be included along with a whole host of others.

seriously I don't know how that got in the race with 600 hp twin turbo'd and it was 4wd... I mean is that even fair?

10 inch wide wheels and it was in the 5l class when it was a 2.5l (iirc).

I present you the Bathurst One Lap Magic run - unintened real-life tribute to my favorite challenge-type races in Gran Turismo series.

I'd pay 10$ just for the Mount Panorama in GT5 and would never leave it in online.
