bathurst might be the best in au but its nothin compared to the nordschleife :)

Agreed, but the Nordschleife is already in GT5. This game dramatically needs a few more tracks and adding Bathurst, along with Spa, would make the game awesome.

Have you driven there?? I have. It's NOT a skinny track. There's quite a few areas where cars can go two wide around the corner. Even at the tightest corner of the track, Forest Elbow, there has been PLENTY of passes over the years.

It's always felt 'skinny' to me when playing on video games, although I'm well aware how digital life and real life can differ.

Having said that, I reckon it's a great track, fast and very easy to make big mistakes on, especially in the hilly bit at the back, where walls on both sides can make it a bit claustrophobic, again in video games.

Good on you for driving there for real, and thanks for the videos.

Was there not a thread on here some years ago in which somebody reported the PD team being out at the track taking all the usual photos and measurements?

I do believe it has something to do with licensing. I read somewhere that some gaming company has exclusivity for it.

I want to say EA holds rights to Bathurst, GRID is old and got Bathurst quite awhile ago.

need for speed shift 2 i ment

most of the track is on public land

Because if your left with the choice of modeling it or the Ring......I applaud PD for this choice. Maybe next game.

Maybe because they're not to popular. Aussie tracks are too boring anyways.

Thanks for making a thread about this, Captain.

My friend went to Uni slap bang in the middle of that track, she ended up working as a race steward a few times as a result

Well GT5 still has a few things to fix before it's perfect, So i guess they are waiting til then to put in the Best touring car track in the game.

It annoys me when EA steals the licensing to a track or car, doesn't let anyone else use it, and then butchers it ingame.

i agree

The Ring as you call it, is an awesome track but has been done to death by EVERY game, Im pretty sure anybody with a racing game can drive it, and if what you said was the reason then there would be no other tracks in the game. Tool...

Aussie tracks boring!!??? That track is awesome, can't fathom why it isn't in the game. Having watched Bathurst 1000 this year I really started to appreciate aussie car culture. A combination of a twisty bumpy track with lots of elevation changes and huge speeds (300km/h!) with great sounding v8s going round it. It's like a combination of BTCC and NASCAR, the best of both worlds.

The race this year had a cracking finish too http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=UIkcf9ZyXTM#t=778s

Action like this could be taking place in GT online lobbies:

Seriously PD, step up!

Epic owning was epic

It's one of the best tracks in the world & a monster to drive on so yeah, it should be in the game no doubt.

Not really, finding a good lobby is hard as hell.

I just knew once other Aussies saw that comment it would rattle some cages

Since when is it acceptable in the AUP to call someone a 'tool' or use poor grammar and punctuation?

Yes Bathurst would be great to be included but only PD and industry insiders would know why it cannot or has not been added yet.

Sorry Austrailan natives but that track does nothing for me, granted the downhill section looks fun but most of it is average. kind of like the AU version of Laguna Seca 90% meh 10 % yeah
