I present you the Bathurst One Lap Magic run - unintened real-life tribute to my favorite challenge-type races in Gran Turismo series.

I'd pay 10$ just for the Mount Panorama in GT5 and would never leave it in online.

It's a GREAT track for REALLY GOOD drivers. A nightmare if you're mixing clean & unclean. It'd be hard to get a clean lap on it if everyone wasn't a good driver.

Thats why you'd avoid the normal online lobby rooms and find a series in the Online Racing forum that has a round at Bathurst (if it gets added....)

Nurburgring is so "spread-out" that you could get around drivers that had issues. That's the difference between the two.

Struth mate! - as a true blue Aussie, you bet I'd encourage the Polyphony blokes to add that track, but the trouble is, the Australian market just doesn't compare with the US and European markets for the game (yeah, I know, I know…Bathurst does have an international reputation, but…).

When the GT5 game specs were being announced, I had visions of being able to make the Bathurst track in the so-called "Track Builder" but damn it all, that feature is limited to say the least.

Here's hoping some future updates and downloads will be available that include things like Bathurst (…and who knows, maybe some classic's like the 1970's Toranas!).

I can't remember what year it was but brocky and perkins were battling for a few laps then brocky passed perkins across the top of the mountain one handed while he waved to the crowd. EPIC I and many other race fans from around the world would love this track. Also memorable was the 24 hour race in 2003 where after 23.5 hours both the 427ci monaros' were on the same lap and in 1st and 2nd, everyone thought they would be forced to calm down and hold the positions until the end of the race, NO chance haha the team boss announced over the incar radio that they were allowed to race but to keep it clean. The most amazing sight I ever saw took place as both monaros' weaved through the whole field racing each other until the checkered flag.

I want Bathurst too. It is actually a very decieving track and is alot wider than it looks on videos and stuff. It would be for the good racers and if right it would make for such a good race.

Chargers, Toranas, Monaros(real ones), Falcon GT HOs, Cortinas, Brock's Volvo, Bartlett's Camaro and so on.

But please, I'll drive 92 different Miatas if you give me Bathurst. I want Australia's track.

This +infinity. 👍

Good post! hope PD takes a lesson out of it..... :)
the track i miss:
1 Bathurst
2 Spa Francorchamps
3 Pikes Peak
4 Road Atlanta
5 Charade
6 Mosport
7 Watkins Glen
8 Zandvoort

Those Nations Cup Monaros at the Bathurst 24Hr, FWOAR!

Bathurst is one of my favorite tracks. Last game I played with Bathurst was Toca 2 or Toca 3. Very fun track. The downhill "dipper esses" (chicanes) are a blast. 👍
Thats a great youtube video above in post #30.

Yes to above and would add following...
9 Monaco (come on this an all time classic)
10 Baja (a true rally challenge)
11 Paris Dakar (the LeMons of rally racing)

What do you think Cote d'Azur is? :p

Worst part about that Bathurst 24Hr vid is now I want the Nations Cup Monaro in GT5.....

Man I wish we had Bathurst and V8 Supercars.I would so love to test Garth Tander's 2011 Toll HRT Commodore there...

Pour favour Mon Ami as you can tell my obviously poor french failed to allow me to properly translate Cote d'Azure :D
Note to self...the blue coast equals Monaco in French :sly:

Before I further embarrass myself...what other tracks in the game are more commonly known by another name?
For example I know Sears Point was renamed a few years back but can't recall its new name, is it in the game currently?

Oh and last question did they change the course in Monaco or has the city grown? Might just be faulty memory on my part but I seem to recall seeing pictures of Phil Hill and other racing greats racing on the cliffs above the city with virtually no buildings behind them.

I think the yellow Monaro was called a W427. But there was also a station wagon too.

How would PD render the kangaroos?

Both the Monaros were 427Cs not the HSV W427 produced recently....

2nd best track ever (after Nurburgring).
Amazing track - but unfortunately it's represented poorly in every game which has it.

Bathurst is arguably the best track in Au ... well Phillip Island is up there as well.

TOCA Race Driver/DTM/V8 Supercars 3 has one of the better Bathurst tracks check out these.

This is gold!! This clip played on TV for the finale of Bathurst group C racing in Australia

Bathurst also hosts the 12Hour and possibly a 24 Hour race in its future for GT cars, so theres a endurance race to fit in between the yawnfest of Tsukuba 9Hr and the 24Hr Le Mans and Nurb races.

I think it would be fun to race on this track after seeing so much footage of it on TV and Youtube.

Some of the races are epic.

Also, I would like some Aussie V8 Supercars too (please)
.
Totally agree ...

and why have the Ford Falcon without the rival Holden???
I want three (3 different liveries) premium V8 Supercars from both Holden and Ford... I want the Winchup Vodaphone Machine

I do want to put as many HOLDEN cars and other Australian models into the game as possible but Australia happens to be quite far from Japan. It's actually hard to get our staff over there to do a lot of the testing that we need to do. We're gonna keep making an effort to get there.
"And I've always heard about the chaos that goes on at the Bathurst track and i actually have a dream to maybe one day participate in one"

Monaco has changed a little since Phil Hill's days. The tunnel begins much closer to the corner before it, the chicane after the tunnel is a bit slower now and the whole Swimming Pool section (left right, right left) wasn't there before - it was a straight run between Tabac and the Rascasse. There maybe a few more high rise building now, but there were still plenty back then. Must have been a trick of the camera angle.

Thanks TheCracker! Must admit its been some time since I saw those pictures, think they were in Road & Track back in the early to mid 90s.

Sear Point A.K.A Infineon Raceway was in GT4, but not GT5 (yet).

The yellow monaro was numbered 427 in the race, they brought in a 2nd car for the race the red one, both cars were based on the never released to public hrt 427 LS7 monaro (what a shame imo).

Thanks I hate how long time sports venues are constantly being renamed due to sponsorship etc. Can make it confusing and hard to keep up, not to mention the tradition.

Still not completely over NASCAR changing from Winston Cup to Nextel or whatever it is now  maybe I'm just starting to turn into an old guy. :sly:

I love the Bathurst Track too and the Mazda model too.

As has been said, online would be chaos.

I certainly would love it for a Sunday Afternoon Drive but not for a Saturday Night 5 Lap Online Race.
