Sorry Austrailan natives but that track does nothing for me, granted the downhill section looks fun but most of it is average. kind of like the AU version of Laguna Seca 90% meh 10 % yeah

Bathurst is alot better than driving in a circle that would be 100% meh

Aussie tracks boring!!??? That track is awesome, can't fathom why it isn't in the game. Having watched Bathurst 1000 this year I really started to appreciate aussie car culture. A combination of a twisty bumpy track with lots of elevation changes and huge speeds (300km/h!) with great sounding v8s going round it. It's like a combination of BTCC and NASCAR, the best of both worlds.

The race this year had a cracking finish too http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=UIkcf9ZyXTM#t=778s

Action like this could be taking place in GT online lobbies:

Seriously PD, step up!

The way he is passing 3-4 cars at a time, it looks like he's driving against GT5 AI.

Yeah right, you guys go round and round in circles for hours on end, that's so interesting !!

Scared to turn right mate?

This upsets me quite a lot. Let me tell you guys something, I despise NASCAR with all my heart. I may be American, but this country really disappoints me in it's motorsports. Other then things like the American Le Mans Series.

i agree

Because if your left with the choice of modeling it or the Ring......I applaud PD for this choice. Maybe next game.

The Ring as you call it, is an awesome track but has been done to death by EVERY game, Im pretty sure anybody with a racing game can drive it, and if what you said was the reason then there would be no other tracks in the game. Tool...

Damn. You Aussies are some serious Homers. Not my fault Australia doesn't matter to anyone. Not like we get ALL our American tracks either. Guess we got more than you though.
G'day Mate
Sorry to point out the obvious for ya. Hang in there

Yes I agree it should be in the game as well as Mosport Park and Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. All 3 would be great additions.

Well to be honest, I've played plenty of racing games with Bathurst in it. But of all the tracks in the world that are not in GT5, Bathurst has no priority. The track is of course legendary in australia and all the other people who follow the V8-series. However, there are a lot more tracks that are wanted by a lot broader audience.

Think of a lot of the Formula one curcuits(including the old ones). The are a lot more people who would like to see some of these circuits instead of Bathurst.

But then again, who knows how PD decides wich track to add in GT5....

Also think about tracks in England. All they have is the Top Gear Test Track and London in the game, and they're not exactly a race track, or a permanent one. I don't see them complaining about their loss of tracks.

I had a huge OT post in response to that but I won't go there...

Australia kicks ar$e in every way mate, it's that simple & Bathurst kicks it too & it would rock if it was in GT5

My guess for Bathurst not being in GT5 is being of licensing issues, or they didn't have enough time, or probably because it never crossed Kaz's mind.

Let's try not to go there. Too much I want to say... and probably others too.

I want to say EA holds rights to Bathurst, GRID is old and got Bathurst quite awhile ago.

Quoting myself here for a mistake. EA does not hold rights to Bathurst as the track is featured in a recent game, Forza 4. I searched if EA had right to it and the first result was this post I quoted.

I'd hope anything you, or others, would say would be based on personal experiences from traveling here because if not it would be moot :D

Yay, another thread for pointless whining.

Maybe because they're not to popular. Aussie tracks are too boring anyways.

No... not boring, but in some cases they have lack of options with geographical restrictions. Bathurst is a great track. Unfortunately, the motorsport down under is underrated and not mainstream enough. I have to either wait for the occasional streaming or special program on SPEED network (Gold Coast race this year for example).

Yeah right, you guys go round and round in circles for hours on end, that's so interesting !!

I dunno about that. It may seem like 2 left turns, but, you, as a racing enthusiast, I'd imagine your perspective about NASCAR, etc. is a little better then that... or you're just misinformed given that statement. Both American drivers and Aussies are talented and take whatever car they're given and perform.

^^ that lotus' driver has some rather large nuts! The way he went over Nissan Skyline was great!

I'm with you guys, we definitely need Bathurst, one of the best tracks in the world for sure. It's a legend, and we need it!

This man speaks the truth!

He does. I'd rather do 9 hours at Bathurst than 🤬 Tsukuba!!

I guess every country will have its 'legendary track that's gotta be in GT5'.

Some place that holds an appeal and romance that goes beyond 'minor' physical things like corner radius and camber.

And this is ours. When you watch the yearly broadcast of the Australian Great Race, the telecast is full of nostalga heavy video packages of history and how it used to be.

The Mountain . . The Heroes . . The Rivalry . .

It's actually really cool. Tingles up the spine kind of thing.

If it were to appear in a DLC it'd be a great day.

No offence people, and I consider myself a fan of Bathurst (easily the best track in Aus) but I can think of 25 other tracks I'd rather have that are better, and more significant than bathurst.

Yay, another thread for pointless whining.

You think maybe you can be a little more constructive when entering this debate

Bathurst is in V8 Supercars 3 (I think also known as Toca Race Driver 3) by Codemasters on PS2. Has the full V8 season in it, including Surfers Paradise in it's Indy configuration. Now, that is a fine city course, having worked at it for the last 7 years I got to know it well and appreciate how good these blokes really are.

Why should I? These wishlist threads get opened ever day because some "BEEP" can't handle that some car/track is missing. It's utterly pointless.

The point of it is healthy debate and from what I have seen you lack the maturity to debate. All I have seen is you jumping in about whining when all we are doing is keeping things interesting with a good debate

You clearly have never driven this track.

General comment: It's in Toca Race Driver 2 & 3 as well.

Well, of course I haven't driven on it in real life. I've driven on it in games such as ToCA Race Driver 2 and GRID.

That cant be a serious reply. I have been asking for Bathurst forever. I think I have only played 2 or 3 games that have that track and it is amazing. I wish every racing game had Bathurst.

It is quite serious. It doesn't appeal to me all that much.

im curious what is Bathurst just asking
