Good race report, damn, I had an extremly dull race. Started 8th, finished 9th, just stayed out of trouble, but not quick enough.

Meh, I'm planning to make up for it in Melbourne.

ATTENTION

Guillaume Dubois: Gooseter (Tristan Lovett) your team mate wishes to contact you via email/msn, he has an issue with moving out and would like you to keep his season active by taking over, Please contact him at gooseter@tpg.com.au to sort out this matter.

Thanks :)

Thanks alot, added to my MSN list + email sent. 👍

Weiland - got beaten by a guy

Haha, nice recall there. I didn't expect to win from pole, even a podium was doubtful. I guess my bad luck of not pitting under caution was balanced out by all the driver errors in the final third of the race.

First race winner Davidson in the Ferrari inherited the lead until an oil scare caused the car to choke over itself and cost him valuable time equating to a whopping 11 positions. Unfortunately someone was bright enough to try to broadcast the team radio during this time and now all the youngsters know a couple new words.

Yeah erm... My bad? I was angry..

Congrats to Jarrett for grabbing pole in Melbourne, bit of a shame the other Ferrari is dead last..
:grumpy:

Melbourne Season 5 Quali: Ferrari Sandwich

(real quickie, running short of time)

If you were a of Ferrari's tifosi, qualifying in Australia rocked, and it sucked. If you hate Ferrari like you hate (insert political figure), qualifying sucked, and it rocked.

While Allman was busy celebrating his first pole, like, ever, Davidson was busy wondering how much more bad karma he had to burn off, qualifying last on the grid after an exciting off-road, kangaroo hopping adventure.

Meanwhile, in 2nd and 3rd were 2 McLarens, Hutchinson leading Chang. They were both within a tenth and a half of Allman and certainly will be a force this race as they have been all season long.

Domnigues in the Renault also qualified close and will start in P4 tommorow - and given that his last 2 laps weren't as fast as they could be, he is not to be underestimated?

But it seems like a lot of drivers have a good chance for this race too.
Whitcomb in the BMW Sauber qualified 5th, and might have done better if he wasn't cleverly distracted by a female member of a rival pit crew. If you know what I mean.

In the middle of a Shepherd-Weiland Aguri sandwich was Red Bull rookie Syme in 7th place. Both Aguris have been...competitive so far and both will enjoy a home race in front of their cheering fans.

On the inside of Row 5 is Beyens who had one good lap and 2 over-cooked laps. So, one lap done well and two laps well-done. Dubois starts 10th after a boring qualifying.

Previous race winner Butler starts 11th, and again could've done better but botched his last hotlap. Kawasie, looking to score Midland's first points this year, starts 12th, having done Butler one better by cocking up the last 2 quali runs.

Row 8 consists of Lovett (Williams) in 15th and Morley (BMW) in 16th.

It's a Honda row 9, although not quite where they wanted to be. Charkaoui starts 17th, and also could've done better if he hadn't made a mistake on the final lap. Horton is 18th, and pulled an absolute blinder of a final quali lap...only to be distracted by a McLaren car blowing another engine.

Seriously, add it up. 36th minute in qualifying saw: Chang's McLaren fall to pieces, with Domingues being "held up by another car", while Whitcomb's, Kawasie's and Weiland's lap got "compromised by a misunderstanding," Horton's "getting distracted," and Mason's generally junk lap.

Incidentally, Mason starts in 19th, and as previously mentioned, we have Davidson starting from the rear of the field.

The question is, who has the race pace for tommorow? Very few got in clean laps during qualifying - are teams deliberately obscuring their strategies? It's going to a be a very busy race tommorow, with Davidson charging from the back and and no less than 6 home racers.

We'll see how it ends up.

Press Release: Lee Davidson

Ferrari driver Lee Davidson had this to say after his dismal qualifying session:

"20th was not exactley the sort of place I was hoping for. The reason why I went off track was due to a Fosters can being on track, I only saw it when it was too late and it got sucked into my rear right wheel, thus locking it up and causing me to spin. It's incredible really but typically Australian. I just hope for the race the Australian drivers all had a couple of Fosters before hand so I can gain a few positions.

Atleast Jarrett finally managed to put a good quali session up.."

Ah hoy hoy!

6th and 8th, running with Ferraris, McLarens and Renaults is taking its toll on Aguri, we can't push hard enough.

The next Race, Imola, will see Aguri following suit of the 2005 BAR team and be given a 2 race (competitive) ban.

We were supposed to miss the Australian GP Qual due to fathers day, but plans changed and now we are supposed to be away from Wednesday through til next Sunday, which means we'll miss the 2 races following the San Marino GP.

I'm going to set both cars to 50% setups across the board, they wont run qualifying, and they will be on a slow pace during the races so that they stay out of trouble. Hopefully they shouldn't be an issue for the lead cars coming to lap us.

So CardcaptorYoshi, if you can find a fault with our Imola GP, be sure to use it as a FIA Race Ban, maybe our cars will finish the race a 1kg too light or something?

I take offence to that, we have never had debris problems at the Australian GP, it's the US GP that has those issues because their track is crap and ruins tyres causing 6 car races

Also, other than Ralf Schumachers usual Friday Practice wall riding session, and the usual first corner pile up, it's the most dull race of the year. It should be scrapped!

 It was a joke, mate.

I noticed that a few of your guys are using BATcamp.

I’ve created Team GTP and have invited a few people I recognised on the driver list, if anyone else wants to join just leave a message in the guestbook on my profile and I’ll invite you.

Press Release: A Come Back for Haswell?

After skipping town halfway through his 4th GTP F1 season, it has been revealed that Haswell is making a return to racing, having been signed by the Czech A1GP team.

The season 2 champion has revealed that he is aiming towards racing in F1 for GTP Season 6. He did not go into detail about which teams he was talking to, though it is speculated that he is trying to get a ride with Ferrari, where he had so much success in the past.

Has anyone got screenshots of what the in-game racing is actualy like (yep, don't want to register unecessarily)? I've seen set-up menus and all, I've been trying to find some screenshots of it in action and I can't find any. I just want to see if this floats my boat or not.

Lee Davidson dramatically challenged Haswell should he return,

"Blake coming back? Yeah I can see it, Blake coming back and winning? I don't think so, not aslong as I'm at Ferrari anyway, I don't see why the team would want to get rid of me or Jarrett as of yet, we have both scored in the 2 opening rounds."

This has perhaps re-ignited a rivalry the two drivers had since season 2.

(But yeah, it would be nice to have you back Blake.)

OH MAI GAWD

MY FIRST GTP WIN!

WOO!

Wow. I really like Ferrari. But the thing is, the past 2 seasons I haven't been selected in the lottery. Chances are, I'll get the boot this time

Oh and...

Bruno Better watch his ass.

Current standings for Ferrari:

Manufacturers Championship-1st (30 points, leading by 9)

Season Standings- Lee Davidson (3rd, 15 points) .. Jarrett Allman (2nd, 15 points) .. both trail by 1 point.

You can't exploit anything from the back of the field, Blake.

:D

I beg to differ, I think Super Aguri has proved that even the slow teams can be competitive. ;)

Scoring in 2 of 3 races, a podium, a pole position, consistant top 10 finishes by both drivers (expect my retirement in the last race.) :D
