I have no intention to leave.

Only Luke Mason is leaving.

I don’t want to tell you that’s a silly choice, but it’s a silly choice.

What, besides "Thinker", is the best then?

edit: little BTCC update:
I took the lead :D

And here's why:
fasa5.jpg

First time I've had two consecutive race wins in anything, I think :D More importantly, I'm waaayyy ahead of Dunc :p

Thinker good! (I'm using Thinker in the BTCC, and look how I'm doing)

Stop trying to sabotage me before the season even begins. :p

I crashed out at the Nurburgring in my public F1. :( First DNF of the season.

Thinker is useless. It’s not difficult to get a perfect setup. The only time it gives you any advantage is in qualifying, because you might have a better setup than other people.

Thinker is a very polar characteristic. If you have a teammate who does something, it's junk. Like Blake said, it's pretty easy to get a perfect setup.

But, if you have an AWOL teammate, Thinker is godly. I've managed to get very good setups despite having a teammate who is unable to play very much.

Basically, it's up to how much faith you have in your teammate.

As for other characteristics, I haven't figured out much really. Pole Sitter King is, unsurprisingly, really good for poles (Blake knows. hmph), Speed Demon is a popular choice, some who DON'T like having eleventybillion DNFs pick Consistent, and I have no idea what Spatial Awareness does but it won me the Season 3 championship, and Domingues's got it too.

Whatever suits your fancy, really. Unless you can find better research than what I've dug up.

Or you could pick Bender.

I'm going to have to pick Thinker - I'm going to be the only Midland on the grid, by the looks of it.

PSK is rather good - a good qual. can win you the race.

I'll do some searching on the others.

edit: Control Freak eliminates poor starts.

Like everyone says, Thinker is pretty much a luxury rather than massive help. It gets you a 100% set up faster quite simply.

What they didn't say though is that it can help a team mate that does not have Thinker but instead two race related characteristics very much.

Plus it can potientially save tyres.

Since I'm bored and don't feel like dropping the Thinker argument:
(in response to Bee)
Good point on the helping teammate matter there, I guess what could be suggested is that one and only one person on each team have Thinker, but that's hard to coordinate.

I can't see very much how it would help conserve tires though. I run every single run in practice and warmup, and usually I still have 3 mildly used Soft sets left (only used once each in quali) and 2 usable Hards (one abused to death testing, and the others untouched). I could see the issue if a session is wet or if it's in a series like A1GP where tires are less abundant, but I haven't found tires much of a problem in F1 06.

Well, that's enough secret revealing for tonight. :)

The countdown is under 12 hours to the last battle of Season 5. 12th place overall is going to be MINE. :dopey: Funny how you guys haven't seemed to have missed the race reports though...? :nervous: Still plan on doing a season wrap-up lite though.

DQ (Hutchinson) started S5, so it's up to him to pass the torch I suppose. I personally could care less about all the symbolism though, just want to get the racing on! :D

We should start it early. So everyone who has a free spot can get in early, that should reduce the waiting time once Season 5 is over.

I was going to start it as soon as this season finishes. If anyone else wants to do it before that, be my guest.

I will.

EDIT: Done.

EDIT EDIT: Please PM me your name as it is written on the confirmed drivers list and I will send you the details and password. Thank you.

YAAY!

And with that I managed to take the overall highest Average-Qualifying :)

That's as good as winning the championship for me :)

Thanks for the hard fought Qualifying battles through the season Herman Chang, looking forward to continuing our non-championship-important rivalry next season 👍

Season 5 Driver Ratings:

Part 2: Honda - Super Aguri

Honda:
Brad Horton: Has been quiet throughout the season, picking up podiums at the odd race. Has vastly out-performed team mate Charkaoui and looks set to finish in the top 5 of the championship. 8/10

Appie Charkaoui: Same story as Lovett, has not managed to score a single point this season as he tries to find his season 1 form. Dropped by Honda at the end of the season, Appie will do well to find a good drive. 2/10

Red Bull:
Ashley Butler: Possibly his last season in F1, his win in Sepang was a great drive but since then has dropped off the points, perhaps other factors are starting to get to him. 4/10

Chris Syme: 3 Points in his rookie season is probably about the best he could hope for in what has been a poor car made by Red Bull this year. If he stays next year, he could very well become a consistant top 10 finisher. Just needs to rake up more finishes. 3/10

BMW Sauber:
Will Whitcomb: Has out-performed expectations in his second year this time with the BMW outfit, driving to an amazing 10 Top 10 finishes in a row during the middle of the season is no easy feat, staying at the team for another year can only do him good. 8/10

George Morely: Brought in close to the start of the season was already a disadvantage but then with Whitcomb's pace, Morely has been left in the shadows all season. Replaced by Mason for next season. 1/10

Spyker Midland F1:
Yuuji Kawasie: The Season 3 Champ appeared to be moving to a well advanced outfit but their car has lacked this season, showing in Kawasie's results more than anyone. Deffinatley capible of more, if he gets his wish of a Renault drive next season, he will be up at the front. 7/10

Steven LeSabre: Another driver in his rookie season, Steven has shown grit and determination which was finally rewarded at Istanbul where he won his first point, has struggled with the package but should he continue next year, could be in the points more consistantly. 6/10

Super Aguri:
Jamez Shephard: Not the most liked driver in the paddock but none the less is probably the Rookie of the Season after some magnificent drives to the podium on 4 occasions. All of Jamez's finishes have also been in the top 10, his move to Red Bull may seem risky, but if he has the car under him, a win is not out of the question. 8/10

Jessica Weiland: Her addoring number of female fans have been in full force at many of the races this year and her performances haven't let them down. Very strong during the middle part of the season has put many veterans to shame and even took a podium at her home race in Australia. 7/10

Great job Lee 👍 Although only 8/10....I at least deserve a 9!

Cardcaptor, I look forward to your end of season review too. I always enjoyed your post race ones and was kinda disappointed you stopped doing them. Allways gave me a laugh!

Here is to next season

:O I just got a wire-to-wire (start to finish leading) win at Philip Island in my public V8! That was pretty sweet.

Unfortunately I've DNF'd about 10 times this season (including Sandown and Bathurst), which kind of makes my 3 wins in the last 6 races less awesome. Still 800 points back...

lol, congrats on your highest overall
but i don't care as much.
pretty sad that didn't even get one win :(

anyways, whos my teammate for season 6?

Perhaps it would help if you gave your name and team?

Another constructors title for me. lol

I WANT A DRIVERS TITLE! lol
