Bahrain Qualifying Round-up.

Todays qualifying session in Bahrain proved to be one of the closest qualifying sessions ever. It also threw up some suprises in what is a very unusual looking grid for tomorrows race.

Yameth Zemahj took his Red Bull Ferrari and put it on pole much to the suprise of everyone, the young rookie blasted the "Blue Ferrari" around the Bahrain track in 1:30.211.

Zemahj on his way to pole.

Zemahj's team mate Jef Beyens qualified 14th just 7 tenths off the pace.

Scott Woodwiss looked strong in his first race weekend at Renault, he put the french car 2nd alonside the Red Bull whilst his team mate Luke Mason qualified a lowly 15th place. Lee Davidson Showed he still has what it takes to compete in F1 by taking 3rd place in his silver arrow whilst his team mate and S8 runner up Brad horton managed 7th. Williams showed they could be good when they need to be, Kawasie and Wonton qualifying 8th and 5th respectively.

Toro Rosso came good taking 12th and 13th with Trendell only just outpacing British female Suzanne Taylor in the restricted V10 cosworth powered car. Dissappointment for Honda's Butler though as he takes a mere 19th place 1.2 seconds off the lead and 14 cars behind his team mate Dubois in 5th. However Dubois only got 1 run in before his car gave up the ghost in the pits.

Ferrari continue to dissappoint with Dunstan taking 10th and Hutchison taking 16th in the Scarlet cars. Jamez Shepard couldnt take to the track due to a mechanical problem in the pits. Charkaouis Midland qualfied 18th despite a problem with the car late on and the 2nd Midland of Windybottom also found itself stopping out on the circuit after 1 run.

Spectacular moment of the day goes to reigning champ David Smith, who despite qualifying 11th, on his last run of the day he put his car hard into the barriers wrecking the front end of the BMW Sauber.

Smith's car comes to a halt atfer his massive shunt.

So after a incredible qualifying session, the race is predicted to be just as close. Who will be on top tomorrow? My money is on me;)

Look what happened to me on lap 1 of a BTCC race.

Anybody want to join a n00b (me :dunce: ) in a public Champ Car series?

It's called Bullfrog Motorsports, and it's currently password protected (Origin)

Woodwiss feeling confident for race

"I'm looking forward to tomorrow's race. Hopefully, the strategy we've lined up can keep up competitive. If we can grab a good start and keep it steady for the first few laps (taking the lead along the way hopefully) and then keep the car going at a good pace, whilst maintaining the tyres. Who knows, we could even win. We have the car and the pace, so it's not impossible."

Those were the words of Renault driver Scott Woodwiss after qualifying. The young British driver managed to thrash out an excellent lap on his last run in his R26 to put him on the front row for his first GTP F1 race since Brazil S1. His teammate Luke Mason didn't look as though he could match the pace, and could do no better than 15th.

There will always be at least one spot on at 50.

And David, I don't have KT or need it.
