lol, yeh, I'm over whining about it.
Anyway, about the A1 idea. Last season, or the season before if I remember correctly, the season was PAUSED for xmas, is that correct? If so, why not use just 1 event (qual, sprint, enduro) as a decider, and just keep pausing the game between F1 Seasons? Or even do the first race, and then abort the season (or does Jules or somebody have to delete a private season?).
Surely there could be some totally even and fair way of using BATracer itself to chose our race seats?
While the concept of A1GP is good, I find and alot of others share the same opinion that A1Gp relies very heavily on luck..
if you have a crash or OE in practice you perform badly in Quali, you make up maybe 2-3 places in the sprint race and a few more in the feature. Rarely is it purely driver skill
I beg to differ on that one. In the A1GP season that I won, I paid very close attention to who my main rivals would be, and only 2 or 3 people really showed out from the rest, but with agreeing with what you said, only 1 of those guys ever ended up posing a real threat, because the others had some unlucky races (but all 4 of us still made up the top 4 in the championship). But that's the whole point of using A1 to decide, it's all luck. It's also all luck on getting to this website in time for Lee to put up his lottery, or all luck with achieving your contract over a whole season. You could have the best car, the best setup, and every race get taken out by the guy next to you. That's not (always) your fault, it's luck. But at least A1 shows a simple evenly matched form of skill combined with luck. It means that the chance of someone being able to keep his Ferrari drive every season and dominate wouldn't occur often, and we could see lower skilled drivers being given the chance in a faster car, something they couldn't achieve in F1 because of the car difference.
I just think we should all pitch in for a new idea, and this is soething that looks like it could work, where it would cause no complaining about what car you have, or who has another car. (Yes, I know I'm the main one doing it, but at least I'm trying to fix it rather than drag it on).
