Race Report:
Weather:
Lap 1 of 57:
For probably the only time this season, nobody stalled or got distracted by the women painted on Trendell's car. Most odd.
Fourth placed-man Dunstan finds himself on completely the wrong tyres, as does tenth-placed Haswell. They drop to 17th and 20th respectively.
Third-placed Chang takes Trendell and Beyens for the lead.
Meanwhile, "Kamikaze Kawasie" and AlMomen (Toyota) dispute eleventh. Both require a pit for new noses.
Not that Kawasie would need to worry about that. Hayha made sure of it.
Safety Car is deployed.
Lap 2 of 57:
AlMomen pits from eleventh for his new nosecone. Rejoins in nineteenth.
Lap 3 of 57:
Mason loses oil pressure for no apparent reason. Not that anybody cared - with a -6.0% setup it wasn't like he was going to win the thing...
Lap 8 of 57:
Racing resumes. Dunstan makes up two places to 17th, now on the correct tyres.
Lap 16 of 57:
Beyens (P5) botches turn nine. Ends up lapping slower.
Hayha (P16) fails to pop out the other side of turn seven. Not that anybody was bothered by his accident.
Lap 17 of 57:
Beyens loses three places to seventh. He is lapping slower, after all.
Lap 18 of 57:
Machiels (Red Bull) pits from third. Again, the RBR mechanics demonstrate why they're rated the worst ever. Rejoins in 19th.
Lap 19 of 57:
Appears that the Williams and Red Bull crews are related. Chang pits from P1, but comes back out in 18th.
Lap 20 of 57:
Make that Williams, Red Bull and Ferrari. Hutchison pits from second, ends up seventeenth.
Skywalker (Red Bull) pits from fourth. Comes out 14th.
Lap 28 of 57:
Butler pits from the lead. Stalls on exit.
Lap 30 of 57:
Skywalker loses nine seconds at the first corner. Still eighth, however.
Lap 34 of 57:
Dunstan gets up close and personal with Ms Bee. 'tis a long walk back to pit road from here...
Lap 35 of 57:
Skywalker (P6) has to wait for the Red Bull team to finish servicing Machiels. Loses seven places.
Lap 40 of 57:
Safety Car pulls off.
Haswell experiences a sudden drop off in electrical power, and pits for a new wiring loom.
Lap 48 of 57:
Horton (P5) goes off-track at turn 11. Loses five places.
Lap 51 of 57:
Nikolakopolous quietly retires from sixteenth. Well, as quietly as is possible with an accident.
Lap 52 of 57:
Tenth-placed Beyens follows Nikolakopolous's lead.
Lap 57 of 57:
Taylor picks up her first win of the season.
