Hah that's interesting, I wonder what it would be like if we all used real F1 driver names...

Kimi at Ferrari? Or Renault... Or maybe even Honda... :P

I'll send you a PM when it kicks off.

Oh, oops, I didn't mean I would be using that as my name.:dunce:

Should have clarified. I'll just go with my real (and terrible for sports :grumpy: ) name, Will Whitcomb.

Chang's Revolving Door

Herman Chang, current BMW driver for the year of 2006, has a new destination in mind for season 4: McLaren. After first deciding to move to Toro Rosso from BMW - or perhaps being cut, he has changed his mind and decided to go to McLaren instead.

Some of his reasons include an overall faster package, an experienced teammate, and "increased levels of mechanical unreliability" which Toro Rosso simply could not offer. Chang this season has been very quick but has retired in 40% of the races so far this season, making him a perfect fit for McLaren.

Current teammate Yuuji Kawasie commented, "I think McLaren would be a very competitive and overall beneficial team for Chang to head to, much more than upstart Minar-er, Toro Rosso. I wish him the best of luck with his new team, as long as he stays in my rear-view mirror next season." He then left with no virtual pit-babe girlfriend around his arm, thank you very much.

Davidson: "Chang Can Win Championship"

Lee Davidson was full of praise after learning Herman Chang would be his team mate at McLaren next season.

"I've had some close races with Herman this season and his seems to be a very fast, intelligent driver. He may be a bit unlucky but that comes with the job and hopefully it will shake off come Bahrain next season. I can see McLaren pushing for both titles with ease that's for sure, I'm glad to be partnered with him and I wish him the best of luck."

All Ferrari Front Row for French GP

Ferrari drivers Simon Trendell and Blake Haswell took the front row for Ferrari! 0.3 Seconds faster than anyone else.

Championship leader Yuji Ide starts fourth behind surprise Red Bull driver Chris Taylor, who only got two fast laps in after a final lap blunder. The session was stopped after Charkaoui dramatically spun at turn two.

Ferrari rivals Renault start 7th and 19th after a mechanical failure for Beyens/Rosberg.

In the press conference, Simon was confident of a Ferrari 1-2 here at Magny Cours, a place where Renault and Michelin would love to win.

LOL!
Right on!

It's been a while since my last update, but for those of you with nothing better to do than wander aimlessly through the forums, here we go...

Guinea Pig V8 season

The last time we met was the opening race at Barbagallo. Race 2 was going to plan until a loss of speed post-pitstop saw me drop to 18th. Race 3 was a lot better but I was overtaken late in the race by a pack of very fast cars leaving me in 11th. Going to Winton I was in a solid 5th place in the championship.
A terrible start to race 1 at Winton was offset by a good stop and I raced to 14th. The reverse grid for race 2 saw my fortunes reverse too. A great start but a stuffed pit stop saw me finish 11th, when a top 6 was on the cards. Race 3 was completely stuffed thanks to my pit crew and I finished 15th, despite having one of the fastest cars. At least I've been earning solid points hauls so I currently sit 4th in the championship.
Point of interests - 1) Jules Hatton, the BATRacer lead developer, managed a rare feat at Winton when he became the first V8 competitor to DNF 3 races at the same track. From leading the championship, Jules is now 22nd. 2) I am now the only competitor not to have DNF'd a race although, with only 100 points covering the top 12 drivers, the first time I do DNF (and I will sometime) I will drop way back in the field.

GTP V8 season

I can't believe my luck here. 3 wins and a second leave me in front, but I'm sure it's only because we have such a small field of drivers. Like the guinea pig series, I'm about due for a crash so expect me drop back a bit soon.

GTP F1'06 season

I think if I didn't leave comments in the race playback nobody would be able to tell if it was a 'bot controlled car or not. Super Aguri cars can go fast - I have finished 6th in a private championship driving one - but I think I must be jinxed. Maybe all my bad luck from the 2 V8 series is sucked in to this one!?

jesus christ, two races in a row my car has failed to qualify, and now I crash twice in warmup for no data.

I swear the game has now turned against my Renault and colour coded helmet.

I'm going to laugh so loudly if I win today's race.. Seriously, I'll be ahead of you guys most likely. :P

MachOne
Appie is a bot. Open his position. He won't talk, change pit strategies, setups, anything.

Thats a shame, he was in every season aswell.. :indiff:

Well can't have inactive players now can we?
:)
