I guess Alonsos hat is popular:D I know of at least 3 other players with it. And someone who ripped it off :p (blake)

Bahaha Danny. Can't even spell your own name :p

Oh, and I've qualified second for Toronto in my Race Of Champions ChampCar. If anybody thinks I suck, bring it.:D

I'm competing in a private F1 season at the moment.

As you can see it's not going well, despite having the lucky attribute.

Not the start I was really looking for. RBR needs race pace, we're good in practise and quali so far, but race pace is needed.

Bahrain Race Review!

The race at Bahrain today was a very exciting and at some times controversial outing for the drivers. The start of the race saw lots of drivers moving about, Horton went from 7th to 14th, butler went from 19th to 13th and Beyens stalled from 14th dropping down to last. Lee Davidsons Mclaren mysteriously entered the pits at the end of the lap, the reason is not known, and then even more suprisingly, he pitted again at the end of lap 3 with a suspected transmission problem, he rejoined in last place.
Davidson pits for the second time

On lap 5, Charkaoui and Mason collided forcing both drivers to pit on the next lap. Lap 7 saw Scott Woodwiss fall from grace as he lost 3 places in quick succession to drop to 5th. Lap 9 saw the first retirment as Wonton pulled out after a suspension failure in his Williams.

On lap 10 Ben Dunstans Ferrari overtook Dubois' Honda to take 6th, it was a fantastic move which left Dubois for dead.

Butler had found himself moving nicely up the grid, after starting 19th, he found himself in 9th at the end of lap 14, whilst Woddwiss went backwards into 10th. Butler soon came to a brick wall though in the shape of a Toro Rosso, for 6 laps, Taylors Toro Rosso managed to keep Butlers Honda at bay until finally Butler had to make a pitsotp taking the heat of the young woman.

At the end of lap 31 Butler finally blasted past Taylor after a brief safety car period when Dunstan and chang collided on lap 27. This forced Chang out of the race and Dunstan to pit although BMW complained that dunstan was weaving dangerously ahead of Chang but the complaint fell on deaf ears.
BMW were hard done by when Chang and Dunstan collided

Then on lap 33 it got worse for BMW when Suzanne Taylors Toro Rosso collided with Smiths BMW and put him out of the race. This time there could be no complaints from BMW as he created the situation himself.

On lap 38 Charkaoui again collided but this time with Zemahj, Zemahj lost some places but both were fine on the cirucit. but, unfortunately for Renault, Luke Mason put his car out of the race after a driver error on the entry to turn one wrecked the rear of his Renault. And as if that wasnt bad enough, on the following lap Renaults second driver Scott Woodwiss also made a driver error to put himself out of the race as well. Ending a dismal day for the french outfir.
Woodwiss car comes to a halt.

On lap 45 Kawasie pitted from the lead handing it to Butlers Honda who was looking uncatchable. He raced the final dozen laps to take a famous victory at the Sakhir circuit.

Jef Beyens on the other hand had an absolutely dismal performance, after decided to stay in F1 he expected better from his new team. His Red Bull couldnt find the pace to make it past Suzanne Taylors Toro Rosso. Beyens was glad to see this race end.

Yes i know the Toro rosso is broken as well in the BMW STR crash pic but its difficult to make things happen the way you need them to.

Thats a mighty fine looking car in that last pic. (The one that the camera is mounted to :P)

Excellent pictoral review Ashley!

+Rep, and more if they continue!

Kamikaze Kawasie posted an ASCII pic of him overtaking someone (laughable in itself :P ) and Duncan and myself posted pics of him colliding with the car in front.

Great review Ash *(edit... oops).

Something I'd like to see is how I managed to get 5th when starting from last, even I don't understand what happened!?

Super Aguri opt out of Sepang Qualifying

Super Aguri have decided to cancel running in Qualifying for the Malaysian GP. Both drivers had very heavy colisions in the Friday Practice session causing extencive damage to both cars.

Aguri Suzuki later said, "Both cars are in bad condition. The team are doing their best to get them ready for the race, but in the standard they are in, we cannot afford to send them out in qualifying. It would be too dangerous."

Jamez Shepherd and Tag Schwarz will start from the back of the grid in tomorrows race. Can they repeat the actions of the Bahrain GP and get both cars in the points again?

Thanks for the positive comments on the pictoral review:) Gives me that incentive to keep doing them!:D

@Dave, who does the website? They are more than welcome to add the review to the site.

Lee, me and Yoshi.

Season-opening lap 9 DNFs are never good. Still, we have shown tremendous pace :D

(speaking of, we really haven't touched the site in a while. if I had time to start writing again I think it'd be easier to do it on GTPlanet.)

Public slot open - anyone up for it? Your pick. :)

Oh great, If I had actually qualified, I probably would have gotten points.... :grumpy: But I went from 20 to 9, that means I'm improving! :D

News from my ROC: At Exhibition Place Toronto, I qualified second. Race started drizzle - my team started on rains, half the field were on slicks - in a potentially risky move. It wasn't. The race was storm by lap 30ish (Sepang, anyone?).

On a 4-stop strategy, I finished second, 20ish seconds behind one of my teammates (also 4 stop).

My run of results reads as such: R 8 3 R 5 3 3 6 2
My team is 1-2 (me!!!)-3 in the driver's standings. (108-81-78 pt, teams: 267 v 144 in second place, we have 3 wins and 10 podiums)

What makes this quite impressive is the fact that a) this is only my second full Champcar season, b) my best season result is 14th with a measly 54 points (I have 81 in the ROC) and c) there's only one other non-KT in the series.

Didn't start off to well for me.

Qualified 2, 0.005 seconds behind pole, finished the race in 13th.

Then realised I hadn't set the driver charachteristics. :dunce:

And now, for something completely different:

CCYoshi's DESTRUCTION INDEX

The Destruction Index is a new race-by-race feature (since Ash is doing some race reports now) that quantifies exactly how much chaos each driver is causing, with points being awarded as follows:

3 points for a DNF or a stall
2 points for a bad start, 'Lost Time', 'Lapping Slower' or a forced pit
1 point for an error that results in nothing bad, loss of laps in quali (wrecking or botching the final lap(s)), and poor pitstops (mechanics must be mentioned)
In case of collisions you earn points for both you and the other driver.

So who is truly the carnage master - at least for Bahrain? Let's see...

1st: Luke Mason (Renault): 12 points
2nd: Appie Charkaoui (Midland): 11 points
3rd: 'Femme Fatale' Taylor (Toro Rosso): 10 points

4th (tie): Scott Woodwiss (Renault), Bee Davidson (McLaren), David Smith (BMW Sauber): 9 points
7th: Yameth "I pronounce this how??" Zemahj (Red Bull): 8 points
8th: Herman Chang (BMW Sauber): 7 points
9th (tie): That Guy Who Always Finishes 2nd (McLaren), Ben Dunstan (Ferrari), The Sting (Red Bull): 6 points

And on the other end:
Last (tie): Yuuji "Not So Kamikaze (Yet)" Kawasie (Williams), Simon Trendell (Toro Rosso), Matt Keller (Toyota): 0 points

(names mutilated wherever possible)

Well, well, well...so far it's a close fight, but keep your eye on the top-spec machines - they're not afraid to use force to get to the front! Renault leads 1 and 4, while both McLaren and BMW have both drivers in the top 10.

Pit-stop collisions seemed to be the main proponent behind the top 3's position, with Mason racking up 3 in that column. The "Safe Error" list was huge for the first race, with over half the drivers having an non-issue in the race or quali. Oddly enough, there's next to nothing in the solo DNFs and spins.

We'll see how Sepang plays out, with perhaps a flash flood catching many a car - or so one can hope :sly:

Woo! I'm the least danger to myself! :D

EDIT: Ash, I went from 20th to 9th.... Wheres my recognition?

And I finished a race in a Midland.

I'm sure that hasn't happened in aaaages.
