Lee Davidson, I am going to kill you for that performance.

Imola race report

So after a good qualifying session for Williams, Red Bull, Aguri and Midland, would we be saying the same for their race at the end. Well the red lights went out and...Kawasies Williams dropped from pole to 10th with an awful start leaving the top 3 places taken by Zemahjs RBR, Schwarz's Aguri and Charkaouis Midland. Also more bad luck for Renault as Keller collided with Mason putting Mason out of the race.

Dunstan, Shepard and Horton also lost a lot of places from the start. On lap 3, Woodwiss' Renault fell back 3 places into 19th. Lap 6 saw a massive scare for 2 drivers as they headed into Piratella, Danny Graham and Lee Davidson collided at high speed sending both cars flying off the road into retirement. Both walked away unhurt although Graham had more than a few words to say to Davidson, marshalls walked them away in different directions.

Elsewhere Smith was on the move, cleanly dispacthing Kawasies Williams on the way.

On lap 10 Trendells race went from bad to worse as he dropped 2 places in quick succesion. Zemahj made an error on lap 13 but he managed to continue in the lead. Nikolakopoulos was really powering up the grid, battling with many drivers and fighting towards the points, lap 15 he took 10th from Taylor. Zemahj was the first to pit on lap 16, he dropped to 5th from the lead. Dunstan after his bad start found himself plodding around making the odd move, on lap 17 he overtook Butler for 12th. Then Horton and Dubois passed Butler dropping him to 15th.

On lap 19, Beyens pitted but he made a mistake, he pulled into STRs pit bay costing him nearly 5 seconds. On lap 20 Keller was dumped out of the race with a steering problem possibly linked to his collision with Mason on lap 1. On lap 24, Hutchison had a small scare as he collided with Wonton, both drivers were fine on the circuit though.

Lap 25 bought plenty of action, firstly Zemahj retired with a spectacular exhaust failure. Suzanne Taylor charged up into 2nd place and Kawasie despite all his hard work was overtaken by Nikolakopoulos dropping Kawasie out of the points.

Lap 32 we saw Woodwiss retire ending yet another dismal day for Renault. At this point it was Charkaouis Midland leading much to everyones suprise. On lap 38 Dubois and Taylor were having a heated battle all the way round to Rivazza where Dubois finally got past the young woman.

Charkaoui pitted from the lead on lap 40 dropping him to 5th but he fought back to 4th straight away. Then on lap 41 a frustrating race came to an end for Horton as he and Nikolakopoulos collided putting horton out. The greek driver carried on with no damage.
Hortons race ends in disaster

Beyens pitted from 2nd on lap 43 and dropped to 5th. As Butler passed Taylor into the points he then had to pit putting him 11th. He moved up quickly though and 2 laps later was 9th behind team mate Dubois. On lap 53 Chang went past Schwarz to take 3rd. charkaoui had got the lead back and David Smith was 2nd and closing. disaster for Kawasie as he had an iol pressure problem in the Williams causing him to retire from 6th. Butler and Dubois had found a way into the points and Schwarz was back into 3rd. Then on the last lap Smith made a final surge but could only manage 2nd just 3 tenths behind tdays race winner, Abdeslam Charkaoui who picks up his first win in 7 seasons.
Charkaoui takes the win

And so ends a great San Marino GP. Charkaoui, Smith and Schwarz taste the champagne today.

Rumour of new lid for Beyens

RBR driver Jef Beyens' name has been buzzing around rumour central recently with the possibility that Bell is working on a new livered helmet for the young star. It is thought that the new design will not be too far removed from current design, but will be updated with new sponsor around the top.

Autosport managed to get a sneak preview of some of the colour on the new helmet.

So Danny, since when did you become a OAP? Use your mirrors, sunshine.

If anyone remembers, could you please send me the game password as Laura now has a Mid-Season slot to fill so she can replace Scott.

well, I still didn't show up in the pics -___-"
which is good in a way because that means I had a relatively safe and good race.

can I have the #2 on my car?? :P

I think you've just destroyed any of your hopes for winning a race again this season by doing that :scared:

Oh well :indiff:

I thought there was someone I missed! Sorry!

Destruction Index, Round 4: Imola

Imola was quite an interesting race, with quite a few retirements (from crucial positions, too) and other collisions adding up to a impressive 3.8 DI point per driver ratio for this race.

We have no idea if this is good or not but we figure each driver averaging just over one DNF (points-wise) this race sounds nice :D Yay for stats junkies.

The highest scorers this race are pretty unsurprising, with Davidson and Graham racking up a whopping one billion points (rounded down to 11 and 10, respectively) merely for their collisions (and the following fight, publicity fallout, 4-page spread in the paper, mafia rub-out, etc.) with each other (totaling 2 cars plus 2 'lapping slower' incidents)! :dopey: Keller of Toyota also scored big, with 8 points from 2 retirements, one of them his own, while Horton scored 7 while doing very little wrong himself.

Surprisingly some of this season's most destructive nailed a clean race this time around, previously tied-for-lead Smith and Taylor scored solid WDC point finishes without incident.

We must note that the addition of a new female driver to the roster will not change the point totals, Ms. Bee will take over the middling DI total of Woodwiss, although it is up to her to increase it. :sly:

And now onto the current standings:
1st: Burnout Bee Davidson (Mclaren, +0): 32 points
2nd: Old Man Graham (Midland, +4): 24 points
3rd (tie): David "Finished a Race" Smith (BMW Sauber, -2), Femme Fatale Taylor (Toro Rosso, -2): 21 points
5th (tie): Yameth Zemahj (Red Bull, +0), Luke Mason (Renault, +1), Brad "Actually Doing Well" Horton (McLaren, +6): 20 points
8th: One Ton Sharky (Williams, +3): 19 points
9th (tie): Stop The Presses, Appie Won a Race (Midland, -5), Nick Nikolakowakobakogalapopololololosviking (Toyota, +2): 18 points

(name gimmicks totally not stolen from top gear)

As for Simon Trendell, we're sure you know by now it's very boring down at the bottom of both standings, 5 points DI and 0 points WDC. :p

Honda is still the least violent team overall, which actually is paying off with the whole 1-2 in the championship thing. Maybe I need to start making picture reports and seeing if it works. :D

Fight for the most destructive team is pretty close but McLaren is the clear leader so far, with Davidson taking things out and Horton getting taken out. Hopefully not at the same time.

Overall, things, as usual, are closing together near the front as the sane people fight for the final podium position behind Bee, who we need to find a label for a la "KamiKawa". 6 points separate about 15 drivers, so there aren't too many extremely peaceful or insane drivers this season. Of course, with the standings this close, all it takes is one good (bad) race...

I think you mean WDI Appie. ;) But yeah I'm proud to see my name next to 1st, shame it's for all the wrong reasons. :D

The Quick List
Fastest Laps

Interesting Fact
In the 2006 Season, the average fastest lap by the end of (and including) the San Marino GP was 1'29.455 ;)

Edit: The 'RACES' tab is mierly for my own use to sort out the people who don't complete their first lap of each GP, therefore excluding them from that race. Because of this, if you crashed out of a track with a longer lap time such as China or Suzuka on lap 1, you could have a faster Average than the Total Average, so unfortunatly if you fail to set a lap time, I will have to religate you to the bottom of the time sheet for all fairness.

Edit (2): I think I'm cursed. For whatever reason, my Aguri likes to crash every practice while set on a pathetic 10%... I don't think I've had a clean Practice or Warm Up all season. It looks like my contract is going to ****! :indiff:

So, it appears there's approximately ten bajillion midseason games open now. The Judge says:

Jules
It's not a bug, its intentional removal of accounts in breach of rules. Sad that so many cant play fairly. :(

But we've got at least one member on the list. What's up, Mr. Graham? Seems like you've been put on the chopping block...
