Barcelona Practice Report!
Well, here we are folks, Barcelona. The home circuit of reigning F1 champion Fernando Alonso, and, er, the land of running with the bulls...

Practice saw a deluge of dangerous sounding dihydrogen monoxide pelt the circuit, and as such, only five (update: seven) drivers have dared contest the intimidating conditions thus far.

Acting as the tent poles, Jamez Shepherd, of Williams. Fastest lap: 1 min 21.439 sec.
Struggled to find pace in the rainy conditions - his first 3 laps of 7 completed were over 4 seconds off the pace, and his quickest lap was still 2 seconds slower than the leader. A sign that Shepherd might struggle in wet races this season? Let's hope not.

Next batter up, Shepherd's team mate, Herman Chang. Fastest lap: 1 min 20.239 sec.
Well well well. The Williams are sitting on a double wooden spoon as it stands. Not much to say here, except that at least Chang got within 1 second of the outright fastest time. A possibility the Williams crew have obtained a good setup for qualifying.

Third in line to the throne, McLaren's Simon Trendell. Fastest lap: 1 min 19.965 sec.
Slowest lap was only .009 slower than Shepherd's fastest, which either means the McLarens have some good pace, or the Williams are just dead slow. Only time will tell. One question stands: will Trendell's Kool Tool weather adjuster give him a big advantage in preparations for drizzly qualifying?

On second base, Spyker's Yuuji Kawasie. Fastest lap: 1 min 19.840 sec.
Has shown impressive pace in the Dutch entry, and held fastest lap for a fair while. Looking promising for Spyker in the remainder of the championship.

At the top of the stairs, Luke Skywalker, of Red Bull Racing. Fastest lap: 1 min 19.407 sec.
I guess it's true - Red Bull does give you wings. Either that, or he used his Force powers, which is cheating. Rumour has it he saved one set of wet tyres for his eighth and final run. Sitting +.015 behind Kawasie's time after seven runs, Skywalker went for it. Saving the tyres paid off, and absolutely smashed the time set by the Spyker by a massive 0.433 seconds.

News just in:
Abdeslam Charkaoui, of Super Aguri, has just eclipsed Kawasie's time, and Lee Davidson, also of Aguri, has sent Skywalker's time backwards to second with his Sith lightning.

Can Aguri repeat their shock Bahrain 1-2 here in Spain? Can Aguri be beaten? Why am I asking so many questions?

Sharky, has that guy with my Jordan BMW changed it yet???

Damnit, I set a stupid strategy for that last race and I don’t remember doing it. :indiff:

He may be able to work together with Horton to overtake the Aguri's in the standings, but when we get to the end and this team is still tied up near the top, how will they function?

I'll punt that MoFo off. Into Appie! :sly:

Love your M.o.m 👍 +rep.

Main rival now set to Charkaoui for the next 14 rounds.

Hoping the rest of the field will follow this trend and stop the SA bs going on.

DONT!

It's not worth it. That's what I did last race and see what happened.

The easiest way is to fill out a petition to Jules to fix this monstrosity. Sorry Aguri boys, but it has to be done. People chose their teams with hope that it would reflect real F1 speeds, but unfortunatly it has failed to be that way. So the rest of us must take action. :grumpy:

This SA crap is getting ridiculous, I say we make a big complaint to Jules about the SA and the Ferrari's, both these cars are far too fast to have some goddamn fun!

I don't really mind a car at the front of the pack when it's suppose to be there in real life (Ferrari, McLaren, BMW), but an at best mid fielder destroying the grid with ease = something big time wrong

Same with the Spyker speed....overrated like hell

Hell SA pulled out the 18th & 19th fastest laps in the Australian GP, Spyker 20th & 22nd. Honda car is a POS for 2007 and I don't have a problem with it been slow in BATracer because that's the reality of things.

Take a close look at the car comparison, IMO the Ferrari should not top the Mclaren out by that much.

*EDIT*: I've posted on the forum about the overrated Ferrari's and SA's, hopefully it'll get some attention...

The STR's and RBR's are too fast also.

I reckon the only cars that Jules got right are the 2 Toyota powered teams.

I'm fine being in a midfield Williams, but when you are out qualified by Super Aguri, STR, RBR, Spyker and HONDA (no disrespect) and ahead of Ferrari, BMW, Renault, there has to be something wrong, right?

Wow funny Taipan, I think Williams are too fast but hey, just me.

Maybe guys, just maybe, it's the drvers handy work? Hell, maybe just maybe, me and Appie are just on a lucky streak.

Stop being such bad losers, geeze..

Bee

This coming from the guy who was in the bottom half of the field for more than half the season last year in a Mclaren, when his team mate was consistantly running up the front on the same setup?

Yeh, sure Lee, whatever

The SA is bull****, just deal with everyones disapproval :irked:

Well lee, i believe everyone got there wishes. Im starting on the last row:(

That doesn't mean squat this season. You'll be in the lead by lap 10, no doubt. :grumpy:

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM EVERYONE (except SA drivers)

07 CARSET IS TEH SUXORZ

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM EVERYONE (except lower tier drivers)

07 CARSET IS TEH SUXORZ

Fix0red. Must say that a lot of the slower cars have some promise - Spyker's holding 3rd in the WDC in the moment and quali'd 3rd and 4th ^^

I really think we just need to wait before passing judgement on this - it'll get evened out eventually (hurry up, Sepang) and plus, no one seemed to mind when Aguris and Midlands were winning championships in F1-06? (in public games anyway - plus I took 3rd with 3 wins in a row in one GTP season :D)

Gah! This isn't a public game, CCY. We got to chose our cars based on our previous seasons performance. And funnily enough, the people who went AWOL or lacked any drive to perform are given a fast car.

It's just not right. 👎

FERRARI=AWOL - Both drivers need to be shot.
RENAULT - No pace, wtf?
SA - BS (enough said).
Spyker - See 'SA'.
BMW - No pace, wtf?
STR - Consistant top 10 finishes? Yeh, right 👎
RBR - 11th on Slicks in wet quali? go to hell!!!

Has Jules built the 07 carset on the A1GP gaming engine?
