Battlefield 2142 Topic. (Full Version Released)

Well I just finished a half hour long session on the demo and I am am amazed! I really didn't think it owuld be this good, but it is a lot of fun. The gunships seem easier to handle and the walking mechs are the coolest thing ever. The only problem so far is that it keeps disconnecting while i'm playing, but on the TotalBF2142 froums a lot of people seem to be getting this.
 
I'm a member there so I should get a bit faster download.

Anyways, is it fun? And is the Titan in the demo? That mode sounds awesome!

EDIT* I was wrong. :D 9 hours,45 minutes, lol.
 
Yes it is awesome! Titan mode rocks, a bit hard to get used to at first but when you really start to get into it it's amazing. I played it for like 3 hours non stop earlier. :D
 
It looks like your face...downloading now and I'll play it tomorrow (since it's gonna take 2 hours at full speed). :) All the people I've talked to so far who have been playing it (a total of 2) said it's good.
 
By the way it uses the same engine as BF2, but it runs a lot better. I can run it on max settings very smoothly, which I couldn't with BF2.

Well, I installed it, so now screw it.

It says it can't find some d29x.dll file, and to reinstall. I've down this...5 times.

I put up with this bs with BF2, I sure as hell am not doing it again.
 
i give it 4 out of 5 :P. the framerate was alot higher than i expected. i can run the game 1024x768 with 4xAA, 16xAF and quality adaptive AA.

it stutters once in a while but i think its either because i dont have much ram, my hard drive also needs to be defragmented... coding could be better.

In order to speed up the download, they removed Directx, so you have to download it from Microsoft.com.
 
Well, it isn't bad, but it's not super spectacular (I still get killed as fast as I did in BF2, ROFL @ myself).

I like the theme of the game, and can't wait to see the new maps. However, all that remains is buying a new computer.
 
I love it, when I first played it I didn't think much of it but now I can't stop. It's just so awesome! Shooting onto the titan from those pods in the APCs is the coolest thing ever! The mechs are pretty awesome as well.
 
yeah, once you get used to the game it gets pretty fun :). its kinda funny cus most people kinda suck at the game... and then you run into a really good guy and you keep finding eachother over and over on the battlefield :P.
 
Its fun, when you seeing the other team stepping on there team mates, I can see the quotes now:

"I wonder what that is on my foot."
"Did I step in something or someone?"
 
I just downloaded the demo yesterday and I'll be trying it later today, all these positive opinions have made me want to try it.
 
maybe the engine and all the textures take up alot of space? maybe they just didnt try very hard to shrink the size of the demo? the battelfield 2 was 540mb.
 
It's pretty fun, I'm surprised at how smoothly it runs on my computer, albeit at the lowest settings.
