Got this arriving in the next day or two for PS3, can't wait :)

Quite a noob to MP FPS though so reading VEXD's umm.. novel :lol: has helped a bit.

Would you guys recommend starting off with assault class? I've been doing a lot of reading and the medic role sounds up my street, at least until I learn not to die a lot..

Seems you know my real name too. :D Regarding you map choice, that won't work for me right now, as I don't have BTK. And I can't buy it right now because my PSN funds are low and I have a lot of DLCs in other games to buy, so I have to choose my priorities. *cough* Robin DLC for Batman: Arkham City, and a Rocksmith song or two. *cough*

I'm a noob to BF3, but I've had the most luck with the Assault class so far. (I'm level 3)

Assault is a good start as you unlock med kits and defibrillators first. As long as you play your role (i.e. don't go tank hunting) it's a good start.

Great write up VEXD. If one could sticky posts within threads, I would 👍

I've been using the UMP w/ Recon, just unlocked the Suppressor and the MAV, what the MAV disable when disabling something?

yep, that game was not worth anything close to $60 IMO

damn if I knew you were waiting for the price to drop I would of sold you mine. I traded it to gamestop for season pass in forza 4 after a couple days after buying it. I got screwed over by gamestop. I bought it for $60 and traded it in for $30 :yuck:. I would of sold it to you for $40, you would of saved $20 and I would of got some money back :)

Most people don't realize MAV's can take out other MAV's by jamming, just gain more altitude a lock on and boom no more spotting competitions with the enemy

I really want to unlock the MAV, but I am still a few thousand points off SOFLAM. I foresee some frustrating rounds of CQ coming up with me toting the UMP and trying to avoid infantry and tanks :grumpy:
 
17-3 SQ DM! Victory! With M416!

And last game of CQ we were losing a close game, and some guys are spinning around in a heli, and when i was in a heli earlier, he parks it out of the zone, while it's on fire, and an engineer jumps out, but doesn't repair it, he tries hitting the other heli with a Stinger. We all die for being out of the zone, we couldn't stay and be safe in the zone for air vehicles because it had low health. And another guy kept killing me with USAS/Frag and it had MASSIVE range! And his 2nd dog tag said he had 899 shotgun kills... Wow.

I use an actual sniper :dopey: Got a 491m marksman bonus today :D
 
In a few hours I'll be on again to try and beat the last co-op mission. I've only got it left and about 13000 points for the G3A3. I tried it 5 times last night and each time I was killed at the very end... Very frustrating.

What platform? IF on PC, try going in a metro 24/7 server, planting a sensor near B and using the PDW of your choice.

You win a bunch of XP everytime an ennemy gets killed, and it seems to be the easiest way to get fast XP with the recon. Heck, metro is the best way to earn lots of easy support XP for all classes except the engineer.

I've done the same thing on console. You get the spot/sensor assists for both floors which is awesome as it's 20 points each time somebody is killed in its rather large range.

Thanks for the tip :). I was going to do hard yards on Kharg sneaking around capturing flags. This sounds more productive/ fun.

Use a MAV to get onto the tower in CB. It's pretty hard to get shot down from it, surprisingly. In Operation Firestorm, from the US deployment, drive in a buggy up the ridge line to the left of the airstrip and set up your sniper at the highest point you can see which will be a small bit further away. From there you can see the all three Flags and a bit of the enemy spawn (with a view of the tank spawns, the heli pads, and the jets' spawns). I don't really have an idea for any of the other maps :p
 
Average gameplay today due to lots of switchers.

SOFLAM is maybe two rounds away still as I only played for an hour or so. 870C with buckshot is pretty sweet though.
