Anyone else having trouble connecting to the servers? Last couple of times I've tried to play online (the only good part of the game - the campaign is dire) it wouldn't let me join any games and it's really starting to annoy me. I'm on PS3 by the way.

Can't connect to the co-op for love nor money but general MP is fine for me, I'm on PS3 too.

Just had a great game with some randoms, armed 3 M-Comms on Seine Crossing :

I'd never played Rush on Seine with so much success so I didn't realise one of them was on the boat, neither did the defenders it seemed :sly: I snuck in there all by myself and armed it and no-one noticed!

Then we had a bit of a stalemate on the bridge which I decided to end by jumping off the bridge, climbing up the ladder and taking several of the enemy from behind.

Just an awesome game and for once it felt like some randoms had my back. Ace squad.👍

Does anyone know how can i have my gun attached to Grenade launcher on the bottom of the gun?

You have to use an assault rifle with the under-mounted rail and have the launcher/shotgun equipped. I personally find the shotgun a better attachment than the launcher, but to each their own.

Yeah I've got the mounted rail equipped to the gun but what next?

You should only need the rail on the gun, and the launcher selected as part of your kit (it replaces the health pack). After that it should appear on your gun in the game and you just have to select it with the same button you would use for the pack.

Ok cheers

Thanks for the education on soflam. Think I'll keep it for occasions when we're getting owned by machinery, else I can do more damage running Engi.

Daniel, what is with your avatar all of a sudden?

I remember someone making it from your UKGTP pic and for some reason I had it saved on the hard drive
The SOFLAM is only effective if someone on your team has a Javelwin or guided rockets on tanks, jets or helis (I think). It's fairly easy to spot them because it has a massive LAZZZOOOORRR firing out of it. That's how you spot vehicles with it, but if they're looking in your general direction, they see a little machine firing it's Lazzzoooor at them.

Question on the soflam/citv/javelin.
If I'm an engineer with the javelin how do I know when someone has locked onto a target so I can deploy the javelin?
I've had it for a long time but hardly used it, early on hardly anyone was designating targets so it wasn't of much use. Nowadays if alot of guys are designating targets I can see it being very useful.
Sorry if this has been answered already but searching on a phone can be a bit of a pain.

Cheers Shaun.

I played a game last night where I had no kills but 32 MUAV spot assists. We lost by over 200 points.

I might hop on tonight if anyone wants to play. I'm currently a little drunk though.

I found this on the BF Wiki:

Sad but true. People use them to blind me, then I don't know what to shoot at! When I unlock the flashlight I am so trolling with it...

Don't do it chap.

The reason is you'll be hiding in a room somewhere thinking to yourself "the next dude who runs in here is going to meet his maker" but unknown to you there is a dude was about to run into the room, but saw your huge flashlight on the wall and is now sneaking around the exit behind you looking for a new set of dogtags to add to his collection.

Early on almost everyone was using a flashlight and all you had to do was shoot at the middle of the light anyway.

Cheers Shaun.

That's what the Toggle Flashlight button is for, but I'll worry about that when I get there I guess. What I really need to be focused on unlocking right now is the 12x scope. And do you mind if I add you Mike?

I can't tell you how many times I've spotted people only because they had a flashlight, they may be shooting close range but I'm not, I can shoot farther than the light will blind me and I can't help but just LMAO at the guys who put a flashlight on their sniper rifle and decide to hide in a bush! The light is only good for metro any more and even then it's not that great.

Granted you can turn it off, but what a waste of an attachment, when you can use something better or even a laser which works just as well, but not as easily spotted

I was so pissed today. I had a guy lined up perfectly for running him over with a skid loader, he wasn't going to move out of the way, and then..... the game ended when I was 5 feet away. :grumpy: What a buzzkill.

@Parkour: 👍

I had something similiar to this yesterday on Kharg. I jumped in a RU jeep and torn along the road along the right hand side making a beeline for A when I saw a soldier running across the intersection by the small hill by A. Thought I had a juicy roadkill lined up I aimed right for him and seemed to run him clean over, but even though I did, no roadkill.

Lag :(

I can't stand the 12x scope. I don't use recon with a sniper rifle all that often but when I do it's either iron sights or 7/8x. My 628m headshot was with an 8x scope I believe because I find in nearly useless having the 12x in almost all situations. You can't move the scope fast enough to track a guy at most ranges I use a sniper rifle.

I got really lucky with my skid loader kill. My first map trying it I grabbed it from B, drove it to C, drove it to A, back to C and there were two idiots standing there next to the flag capturing it and had no idea what I was doing. Double kill and 2 flag defends. I've used it all of 3 minutes  its a lot of driving in something that slow.

Unlocked mortars tonight. Got two kills and put it away.

Also I must say its very annoying when a blue triangle shows up over an enemies head. It seems to happen any time a friendly player is anywhere near the back of the other guy. Only after I'm practically dead does it show up as a yellow triangle.

You're American, you should know that you shoot first and ask questions later!

Mortar is quite fun, but also frustrating and is hard to do anything useful with objective wise.

Does anyone think I should be using the USAS shotgun as a aggressive recon player?

Was just about to post in here to ask if anyone wanted to join me online, but I open BF3 and there is a 767mb patch waiting for me. And then B2K DLC waiting for me after that.

767mb is a huge patch, is it not? I remember most COD patches only being 30mb or something like that, then again, they never really did much did they?:sly:

But man, CoD is inferior...
