The only problem I am going to have with destroying an "enemy vehicle" is using the Engineer class. Right now, I am so concentrating on unlocking at least the M98B for the Recon class that I am basically completely ignoring the other three classes.

The M98...... I liked BC2 better when you had a choice, 7.62 round high accuracy quicker bolt action (GOL) or M95 which was .50 cal but had a slower than molasses bolt action

Now it's M98 or nothing (nothing against you, I just liked the options in BC2 better

@ mike, too bad the torch kill assignment didn't work with the EOD bot :lol::lol::lol:!!! But at least you got it
 
Once I knew of the gadgets being treated as vehicles I found that part of the assignment easy.
@Mike remember our botched effort on that one. :lol:
I'll be honest though, I still found the kill with the torch part of it a bit tricky. Somehow I lucked out with a headshot with the torch. :odd:

What do you mean M98 or nothing?
 
Well the M98 is the best gun. it doesn't really have any serious drawbacks like the M95 in BC2 right?

I guess I could have worded that better, I'm not saying the others are useless, just the 98 is better period right? Because they all have the same bolt action time

I went out Black Friday and the mall I went down to wasn't bad at all. Went through gamestop and saved $70 total there between my girlfriend and I.

Haven't played this in a while... So many other games that I want to finish its ridiculous.

Well I think what the "best gun" is based on opinion. I prefer the M40 over the M98 every time.

Haven't played this in a while... So many other games that I want to finish its ridiculous.

Ah yes the memories.
To make matters worse there was only about 5 of us left in the server.
My mate shot you so I rang him and told him what we were doing and not to do it again.
Then I also got repair tooled to death in a fully healthy tank by your team mate because I thought it was you. :lol:

I ****ing hate the M98B, I don't know why but for no particular reason I just can't stand the gun. I'd much rather use the SVD or the MK11 as they are really good with 4x scopes. Also I still never got that trophy for getting 10 kills with each B2K weapon. :confused: I even got 10 more kills with the Famas.
 
After posting about the problems I was having with people abusing the MAV, I decided to start a recon class to counter them. I am a terrible sniper but got a few really good headshots on snipers that were camping. :) After playing quite a bit over the weekend I was able to level up the recon class and unlock the laser painter then finally unlock the MAV. I have not used the MAV yet but at least it is there now as a weapon against any MAV abusers. I did however use the laser painter a LOT! That thing is awesome and I wish people would use it more often. Especially since I love being an engineer and when this laser pointer is used, its almost an instant kill.

I also had quite a few good games this weekend as the recon class and as the engineer. One of the games with the Recon class I had 0 kills and 0 deaths but had the most points out of all 24 people. I was playing conquest and just kept running from flag to flag and kept marking tanks, helicopters, and jets with the laser painter. Got a ton of points doing this.

I still cant log onto the BF3 site to check my stats. I want to see how many tanks, jets, and helicopters I have shot down.
 
If Battlelog is not working and being a pain there's always www.bf3stats.com.... I think the stats they show are even more elaborate then what you get in Battlelog... Youre just missing the community features.
 
Had a play with the M40A5 for a couple of rounds whilst waiting for the cricket to restart. Decent stopping power, but without the straight pull bolt it's a little annoying, so I may just go back to the SV98 as the M39 is just too lacking in oomph.

Only strange thing is that it doesnt show that I used the SOFLAM and I used it quite a bit this weekend. It also doesnt show the exact vehicles I destroyed but at least shows my total vehicle destruction count.

Hi guys,

Just letting any Australian players know that if you're experiencing 1 bar of ping in all Australian servers there's a thread up on battlelog trying to get something done about it.
All the information on the issue is in the thread. There's also a link to the 'getsatisfaction' site too. Please +1 that if you're experiencing the issue, as at the moment EA wont even admit to there being a problem.

****ing EA. They should take a leaf out of PD's book, they messed up online rewards and that day they had a post up apologising and they're presumably going to have it fixed next patch.

I see a wide variety of rifles used to kill me. But as for the M40, the only way I can explain it is I know how the gun shoots. Say a guy is running across the screen at 200m I more or less know where to aim to nail him in the head or at least a body shot. I just don't have that intuition with the other rifles.
 
If you paint a target with SOFLAM and someone takes it out, how many points do you get for the assist?
 
Guys, which one do you think it's the best, PDW-R (my favourite) or P90? I particulary think that the first is better because of the fast kills, compared to P90. I really wanted to change, but it seems like the amount of bullets is proper to it's lack of damage (my opinion).

I think it's 40, though I may be wrong.

More success with the M40 tonight and in one round with VEXD at Sharqi on Assault, no one seemed to be bothered about getting the tank/lav so whenever I was killed just jumped in them. Ended about 26-5. I have no idea why people leave them behind, yes they can be vulnerable if you're on your own, but I still got 9 with the tank and about 7 with the LAV. No infantry class can keep up with a decent tank, heck even the IFVs can be lethal, especially if you've got a few of the unlocks.

PDW-R = too small a clip/ too fast a fire rate.
P90 = large clip, high fire rate, small damage window.

I'd with with the PDW-R out of the two if I had too.

Do you guys mix up your tank unlocks depending on map? I always run HMG and thermal optics and usually get caught out by C4 as a result.

PS: 40pts for all that effort? meh.

This is me, Ive seen that thread but didn't bother posting in it. Its so annoying. Apparently US users can access the AU servers with a 3-4 bar ping and I can access US West coast servers with 4 bar ping. But I can't even connect to across the ditch.

What is getsatisfaction?

That BF3 stats site is awesome, they've got way better stat tracking than battle log and it looks like it only gets better the more you use it.

They also have some sweet sigs that apparently update your stats as you play.


Oh, and I finally got a positive W/L ratio last night. 1.01! 👍 Won what seemed like 20 games on the trot, getting MVP X in most. Unfortunately battle log only shows the last 16.

In one of them I noticed something very strange though, This guy, gets 61 kills in a match on Caspian, which is strange, because I never see anyone to kill on that map as it is. But oddly enough, his kills were more than double the deaths of the entire team, and thats not even accounting for the other players that were in his team.
This is the battle report so you can see for yourself.

Think I should report him?

I'm guessing your on PC? I'm a console player. Personally i would report him, extremely easy to mod on PC, and 61 kills on caspian isn't believable.... unless he was boosting with another player??

I always use thermal optics and canister shell and it seems pretty good for me in all the maps. Thermal for better vision and canister to kill people faster than HMG, specially to kill someone trying to put a C4.
