This message is for everyone out there. If you are on a team and see a Helicopter or 2 helicopters causing constant problems, you NEED to help take it down.
Ah, you appear to be operating under the same false assumption I was for quite some time, which is that the majority of BF3 players realise that it's a game that requires teamwork to win.
It is so, so rare to find a squad that will help you out or even stay together for more than 30 seconds, and even rarer than that to find a medic or support that will take the time to press the '3' key to drop their support item, even if you stand there asking for ammo or health. It's as if they don't want the easy points. Even rarer still are players willing to change their class to benefit others, but the rarest thing in the game... Vehicle pilots who wait for at least one other player to hop in before they drive/fly off. It really does astonish me how many chopper pilots think they're better off by themselves than with a gunner, or how many tank drivers think they'll do the team more good or even survive one single support soldier approaching from the rear with C4 without a gunner sitting on top.
Every time I play this game I end up hopping around each squad on my team to find one that will work as a unit. I find being chatty on the text chat (oh yeah, I'm on PC) helps because those that chat back are usually the ones most up for playing together instead of alone. The kind of banter you can get going is often hilarious too, but much more rare than it was in BC2.
And you'd think it would be obvious to all that if the enemy team is dominating with tanks, use AT equipment. If it's choppers, use jets, and if jets, let them get on with it because they're harmless if you're not a jet, chopper or sometimes a tank. But no, the only thing most players agree on is that RPGs and SMAWs are anti-infantry weapons and there's no need for anyone to be anything but an engineer.
