I had a pretty good game last night, you know, one of those where no matter what you're doing, you get a lot of kills doing it. Not my best game ever and when I say a lot of kills I mean quite a few but not an insane amount.

Like I was in the AA briefly (it was on Kharg), shot down a few choppers and a jet, went round the back way to D (CQ large) and found one guy with his back to me in the weirdest place, his squad spawned on him and I killed them all with one burst. Then got pinched by a pair of tanks. Then later in the same game I was at C in a captured enemy tank firing my HMG at the building site because there were a few engineers trying to kill me, I killed the lot of them and then by chance the enemy Little Bird flew behind the building site so I switched to the cannon and shot it down, which got me accused of hacking. In the same game I got something like 25 kills with the G53 and a handful with the G36, got a few vehicle kills with the RPG, had a brief go in the gunner seat of the attack chopper and got at least 6 there, even killed someone with a jeep machine gun and was MVP with 10,000+ points which was 2,000 over the next highest score. The enemy team did only have two good players, though, we had more I think.

So while I have had better games, it was just really fun jumping around from vehicle to vehicle and being able to be effective in them all. I didn't mention the time I used the scout chopper, though... Let's just say I had a mid-air encounter with a friend.

@ Zenith

66-4??! OUCH! Thats some serious owning in the Tunguska... Was it Noshahr? There a lot of places in that map you can just chill with a Tunguska and get major ownage going.

Where and how (rush I assume?) :D. I don't think I have ever set foot in a Tunguska :guilty:

It is Rush, yes.. because it progresses further on through the map. I think after you destroy the second set of Mcomms you move further up the hill to the next set of Mcomms.... If youre a defender there's a bridge off to the right which you can just sit on and kill everyone who comes by... It is perpendicular to the path which the attackers must take to get to the next Mcomms. Also if youre on the bridge you have a perfect view of the last mcomms which is where everyone will be coming from... All you gotta do is keep moving back and forth on that bridge and kill anyone who comes along the path towards the next Mcomms... I've been on the receiving end in that situation before, with someone from the other team in the tunguska and its near impossible for infantry to take you out, because youre on a bridge with only one way to get on it. :) You'll also have to keep an eye out for helicopters, but being in the Tunguska that shouldnt be a problem 👍

Ahhh, yes, I know where you speak of now 👍. This is kind of why I avoid rush though, too many silly issues like this. It's kind of like Bazaar on the last set of Mcomms. If you don't stop that tank as defenders, it is game over.

^ @Mike Rotch

True, but someone on the other team or yours, needs to have this knowledge. :p If they don't then it's not that big of an issue... I have to say Ive been playing a lot more CQ lately... The Rush matches seem to empty out a lot quicker, mainly due to stacked teams, I think.

Tonight online!? Mike will you join!? I'll be around 2130 CET

So basically the Tunguska is imbalanced at Wake.

Tunguska is very easy to destroy (2/3 RPG's depending on the spot you hit or 1 smart sneaking Amtrac attack, hopefully with engineer on board if your aim is not top notch). And I bet it wasn't Wake but Noshahr. On Rush. And the enemy team was very low level. So they probably had no idea how to approach land in safe way from the carrier. I saw battle reports where Tunguska campers went over 100 kills @Noshahr Rush.

I don't think anything is really overpowered in BF3 except the frag rounds which have too big splash damage and range. Famas (one of said OP weapons) for example kills quickly but reload time is so massive that I think using AEK, F2000 or L85 is much more convenient. Usas + Frags? Just keep your distance, equip anti-explosive perk and dominate or in CQC take 870mcs and just one hit kill enemy. Just know your routes, avoid "bottle neck"/choking points and try to "fill the gaps".

Just played a round of conquest on Metro, I only got 7 kills but was still MVP 3 because of all the revives I got (4 Medical Efficiency ribbons).

Anyone fancy teaming up with me and my bud. We're from UK and get quite tactical when it comes to the headsets and tactics.

It was on Noshahr Canals Rush Defense.

Most of the kills were just from infantry near the second and third points. They kept running in the open. Thermal Vision makes it into a game of whackamole. IMO, the AA is the most overpowered thing in the game. The Defense of Noshahr shouldn't even have one.

I call the AA/Scout Helo cannon the Flash Fryer. Bzzt. dead.

I'd say even the M416 over the FAMAS, as it seems to have more stopping power. I am keen to experiment with 12G Slugs with Shotguns. Anybody ever tried it?

Both of these were awesome. I liked this one too:

I have no idea why I found it so funny, I think it was the 'landing'.

Personally I can't really see much difference between the M416, FAMAS and AEK-971, I used the M416 and AEK back to back and got a service star with each in one night and could barely tell the difference. All three are awesome. I'm starting to wonder if I want to add the M16 to that list as well, actually, both versions are very comfortable and easy to kill with.

Never tried slugs or indeed any other type of shotgun ammo, I think I have 30 kills with my M870 and less with others so I haven't unlocked anything but flechettes so far. I have seen video evidence that an M870 with slugs, extended mags and a rifle scope is ridiculously good (and absolutely huge, it takes up half the screen).

Hey guys, you do know that if we all just added each other on battlelog it would be far easier to quickly check it then to ask "whose online?" all the time, right?

Yes! I used the MAV to get in the Caspian Border tower and got a 400+ point headshot, then got a 507 point headshot! With my 12x L96 :D

Come on guys I need some squaddage play. Where are you guys? 8PM and it's empty here.

^ that answer my question about the M249 👍. I picked up a LMG at Metro and it was great, but I didn't know which one it was, and, without a test server, I didn't want to go into battle testing them out.

PS: Icehawk's suggestion about battelog = sense.
