^ that answer my question about the M249 👍. I picked up a LMG at Metro and it was great, but I didn't know which one it was, and, without a test server, I didn't want to go into battle testing them out.
Wait, the video I posted answered your question? And you didn't know what a M249 was?

I know what it is, I didn't know what it looked like from behind the sights though. I've only used mine for 3 mins and gotten all of 2 kills with it.

Ill be on for the next few hours.
Have a Mic but I'm at work and may not be using it.

Unlocked the Javelin tonight so if anyone wants to play Recon/SOFLAM, that would be helpful :D

I'd say even the M416 over the FAMAS, as it seems to have more stopping power. I am keen to experiment with 12G Slugs with Shotguns. Anybody ever tried it?

Of course! I forgot about M416 because I already retired that gun from my arsenal, 14 service stars are enough. ;) After I master L85 (it has my stamp of approval :) ) I will go with M16A3, only inconvenience is that it changes into AK74 every time you're switching sides from US marines into RU paratroopers. Or maybe I'll go full time burst mode with M16A4 and M4. Decisions, decisions. :)

EDIT: Remember when firing Javelin to point it upwards (12 o'clock) after "lock on" but just before pulling the trigger (especially when there is no laser designation), it'll help you avoid terrain obstacles.

If you're that invested in assault you should have unlocked the Russian side M16A3 no?

A bit frustrating gundalini

.

We both had mics, but you couldn't hear me and I could barely hear you :grumpy:

Eh, good two or three rounds. Sharqi turned into a 5 vs 12 beat-down by the other team when you left so I left half way through too. Caspian was great, well, until the jerk heli pilot killed me 4 times at spawn after our great tank run. Not sure how we escaped from D at one point, where we were drawing RPG's from at least two sides :scared: I jumped out, repaired on a hail mary and when I got back in I was at 1% and the tank was at 30% again. Somehow I lived through another repair cycle and we continued on

Have that unlocked long time ago , but the problem is that any time you equip M16A3 as a Russian it switches next round to AK74 for US side and vice versa if you equip M16A3 as US. It is just very annoying.

@ Mike sorry about Sharqi.
My youngest son has been a bit sick and I was seeing to him after he got out of bed at the change of round.

I think I joined you at Metro and was I rusty :dopey:, I haven't really played for about at week and it took me at least half the round to get some sort of mojo back.

Caspian was great 👍, fantastic gunning and teamwork on your behalf :D. A couple of times I thought we were gone but no, there you were showing stoic defiance repairing our tank while I managed to pick of them pesky RPG cretins. How you didn't get killed a couple of times will never be known.
I think we finished that round 1&2, lucky for us that guy in the chopper didn't show up earlier.

As for the mic issue, I dunno.
I got it last Saturday and tonight was the first chance I had to try it with someone that I know. Occasionally I could hear you but it wasn't coming through the earpiece but my speakers instead. Since you could barely hear me perhaps I should read the instructions for it. These things should just bloody work. :banghead:
It's only the standard PS3 headset so I assumed it would work fine, it did take a bit of effort matching it to the PS3 though. :odd:

Cheers Shaun.

Does anyone else think that Metro is a bad map for Conquest?
In my experience the team that starts outside (RU?) will hold A and B for the whole game and it just becomes a battle on all the stairs.

Metro is a terrible map unless you just want to get a huge haul of kills/revives. Just 3 entrance points from the US perspective to B in Conquest, and two of them are easily covered by the same area.

If you're the US, and your squad is smart/communicating, GO STRAIGHT TO B. FORGET ABOUT PLATFORM. Somebody on your team will get Platform for you. If you don't get to B straight away, the RU team can just own the entire game.

It always frustrates me when I see 8-9 people go straight to Platform as the US and just sit there capturing the flag.. come on guys, win the game..

Metro is pretty bad for Rush too! But like all Rush games, if you're the attacker, you have to blitz the defenders so fast they don't see you coming. The moment you get bogged down in the tunnels, you're screwed.

I like Metro in CQ or Rush.... Always fun to see how things pan out in that subway :) And ALWAYS go for B in CQ right away... no matter what side youre on!! 👍

Same reason I don't use the M16A3 as much as Id like too... so annoying... Same with the M4A1.

Metro is only really good for rush, especially for sniper's :) first section outside I get 20+ plus kills in no time :D

Discussion topic:

What's your best sidearm and why?
MP443-TACT.jpg

MP443 Grach Tactical for me.
It's a good all rounder and the recoil is less snappy than the M9. It's accurate enough to kill snipers and shoots quickly enough with a big enough magazine to use in a panic. The only problem is that it will replace itself with the M9 when you switch sides. (Like the M16A3, M27, etc.)

I honestly gotta check battlelog for my best handgun. I usually use a gun until I get a service star and so far I've used the G18, .44 Magnum, M1911 and I think that's it but I would take the G18 or the .44 Magnum as my favorite, the G18 is great for Recon and the .44 Magnum is great for a shotgun class or a PDW.

All three handguns are tied at exactly 100 kills each.

Yeah, good luck with that.

Unless Camaroboy is on.......

:irked:👍
I sure could have used you last night. Got into a game where no other team mates at all were engineers besides myself. And the recon class was NOT using the SOFLAM at all. They were just sniping. So for about 2-3 games in a row we would get dominated by a tank or 2 sitting quite a ways out killing us at our base. I would get 2 good hits in just enough to disable the tank then it would either kill me or go off and repair itself and come back. Rince and repeat. We still won most of the matches but when I cant take out a vehicle, it frustrates me. And its very rare. It ONLY happens if I am the only engineer or if no one is using the SOFLAM. :ouch:

Sometimes I dont understand how they instantly see me when I am locked on with the Javelin. I mean the second it starts beeping, they turn right to me and kill me. Its almost as if I have a huge flashing sign above my head saying "shoot here".

CQ on Metro.

I start at the US tunnel deployment.
I run right to C, and usually, carry on to B.
Hit resistance.
Die.
When I respawn, I do so at C flag, then run straight to A.
Using the back stairs, as in the ones at the very end of the platform, I can usually vault the turnstiles and sprint off down into the side street without anyone noticing at all.
The opposition are so intent on trying to push you right back to deployment and pwn you for the entire round, that they often leave a path to A wide open.
I am mindful of the fact that as soon as I start capturing A, someone will notice, so I pick a good hidey spot in one of the buildings, and wait for my imminent end.
Sometimes, my entire squad has spawned on me whilst I'm there, and we've taken the flag very quickly.
This can sometimes completely turn the game on its head.
I have mentioned this sort of strategy before, but in terms of starting at the RU deployment, and going for C.
Worx both ways.
The very least you'll do when employing this method is make the match more interesting.....

I'm recon and always use SOFLAM
Since I am almost always an engineer, we would make a killer squad together if you had the 360 version. :sly:
Really all I need is 1 other engineer or 1 recon that uses SOFLAM and you will not see enemy vehicles anywhere on the map.

If I'm not scaling skyscrapers with a MAV, I'm probably using the SOFLAM. But I don't think anyone's ever used mine.

Oh and the M26 MASS is a B43$T!

See thats the thing. If I cant take out a vehicle as an engineer then I switch to the Recon class and us the SOFLAM in hopes another engineer across the map might see it. But if there isnt another engineer, then its a waste of time to use the SOFLAM. So basically if I am the lone engineer, then I am working my butt off trying to get rid of vehicles. Sometimes I can succeed but other times I just cant keep up. At that point I break out the mortar but thats my very very last resort. :sly:
Is there a way to make the mortar more powerful to destroy vehicles easier with it? Seems to take at least 3 direct hits or more. Or maybe I just need more experience with it.

.

No worries - priorities :)

That was great tank driving, both there and at Damavand before. At Caspian there was a point where we held all bases and you hide behind a rock and then used the tank to flank an incoming one - the dude never saw it coming. That was great tactics 👍 When I am gunner for a random in a tank, I usually bail as soon as they start taking heat as its not unusual for them to do the same and leave me in a MG facing RPG's alone.

But with you are at the helm, I know I can just sweep the back and make sure I keep you in the game; we must do that more, it is very enjoyable (you going to be on later sat night?). Also, top tip - when you exit a vehicle, you do so in the direction the turret is pointing :dunce: So if you are running repair, dont point it at the enemy tank and exit, as you'll pop up in his line if fire. Rotate it to point behind and voila!

People on Metro being a bit one dimensional

Yes, I agree. If RU are half competent as a team, holding A and B should be easy. The only hope for US is to take A and divide attention.

My approach there used to be:

- Charge past everybody camping at C/A, to B
- Find nobody else joining me
- Get killed by horde of enemy appearing B

Now I do this in public lobbies:

- Collect C/A flag
- Lay claymores near C/A on route sneaky enemies are bound to take
- Join battle for B.

No need to be a hero for unappreciative randoms.

Nope, 3 direct hits it is at least. There is a video on youtube showings its 25 damage or so a hit to a vehicle.

Nah i'll stick to PS3 thanks :sly:

Its kinda funny though because you lot have the problem of no one using the SOFLAM & I have the problem of no one shooting stuff I target with.......

Yep the SOFLAM
