I really shouldnt be reading this.. I preordered through origin too so I could be playing. This is depressing! :(

Well I have checked the PSN through the morning and nothing? Got an email invite telling me how to access the Beta but still not seeing it on PSN. I think I will go out to the gun range and sight in my deer rifles instead:tup:

what? dont understand what ure saying :)

If you didn't pre-order before September 25 you don't get in early. You'll be on Thursday.

Edit: Camaro I agree it looks incredibly good on ps3. I was watching an HD steam earlier of it and wow. I love the light that comes off the RPG's. Very cool.

I just opened up my email and got an early access beta code for PS3, no pre-order or anything. I might have to see what all the fuss/hype is about.

Nice. I don't have early access but if anybody wants to add me on ps3 ICourtesyFlush, is my psn. Just put BF3 in the message.

Did you try searching, or entering the code?

Alright so I gotta say, the Frostbite 2 engine just blows me away. I am so impressed with all the little thing. Being dazzled by lasers, the sunlight reflecting off a sniper's scope, how the tactical light is completely blinding in the dark metro up in close quarters.

The PP-2000 is freaking devastating on the Metro map. That thing rocks. It's also pretty funny how next to nobody realized what the Mobile Spawn Point is. I'm recon with the PP-2000, and I just set up the mobile spawn right next to an M-COMM and teleport in to defend or arm it. It's really funny. I racked up 6200 points in one round doing this. Stop posting these reports of amazingness! :(

*goes and hides in a corner rocking slowly*

I got my Email, once I get some English homework done I will be playing. I can't wait...........damn homework :grumpy:

[troll] Personally I can't wait for MW3 :sly: [/troll]

I'm gonna download the beta for sure (Thursday?), give it a go and see what's what. All I've heard from people about it is good things! Plus the gameplay I've seen is pretty awesome :)

Played the beta for about 30 minutes so far (stupid math homework put a halt on it) but what I've played was some pretty intense gameplay. Almost done with my homework and I will probably play for a couple hours. It's pretty fun so far.

CAMAROBOY69
Yup that is terrible and will effect your online mp experience and others for sure.

No, no it won't. I played cod4 and mw2 primarily during the time that I had adsl 1 which got 1.3 down and 0.2 up. It's not a problem at all, green bars were where they should be, Australian and nz servers.

I'll admit it's better with a faster connection but by no means is it game breaking. Heck, I played the games on capped Internet, just a little faster than dial up and it was still fine xD.

I ordered MW3 and BF3 :D but I preordered BF3 first :dopey: When is the open beta coming? Someone said 29th but I saw the commercial during the Cowboys game and it said "Open beta September 28th"

Finally at 8 pm tonight the beta is available: tup: first impression is game is awesome just like bad company 2. To be successful in rush you must work as a team so having a good squad is a must. The blinding from the flashlight and red laser sight is a nice touch. The sun reflection off the sniper scope is a nice touch too! The beta map starts out in a wide open area and moves to close quarter combat in the subway tunnels. The tunnels are great for completely flanking your enemies. I want to see more of the destructive environments, I like what I see so far. See you guys on the Beta Battlefield!

They did a great job so far and I can't wait to see more. What you were saying about the flanking, there was 3 enemies in a train with their back turned to me. I tossed a grenade in and BOOM, three easy kills (you can almost feel the explosions).

You really do have to work as a team (just like BAD COMPANY 2), I will sometimes lay down and lay some suppression fire down so my teammates can move up.

I can't wait to play it some more :)

So i'm enjoying the game but why after about half an hour of play each time the game just exits out no error no nothing just like I force closed the game.

Well it seems that the issue has gone away. The game off the bat is gorgeous to look at. The game mechanic that has always got me peeved is lag. Lag like you hide behind a structure but you get shot a few more times after hiding behind the wall/structure. Had this issue with BC1 and 2 so it must be Frostbite. Other issue that's marring my experience is to be expected for a Beta I suppose. When prone many times on the outside I begin falling through the map all the time. Also every few seconds there's constantly a flicker that I don't believe is a part of the game. I hope the flicker is not my video card having issues which would be a first for the card since i've owned it. Overall it's a great game, some say it feels nothing like BC2 but some game mechanics definetly remind me of BC exactly. Being the greedy gamer I am I want to start using vehicles!'

Usually I'm an engineer in BC2 but I think this time around i'm going to have to go Support. At least at this early stage I love the brute force they provide and the element of suppression is actually possible in this game so their LMGs actually can be used as they were intended.

I get the flicker too some. It's not as bad for me as some people are saying. Some servers I haven't had it and some I have. It's almost like a really quick gold flash or something. As far as video card problems I don't know what you have but mines a gtx 570. One weird thing is that I can use ultra settings and get around 40 to 60 fps, but if I go to the lowest graphics settings, I only gain a maybe 10 fps at the most. I've switched back and forth with the graphis settings just to experiment and ultra settings seem to be the most consistent for me. Sometimes on the minimum settings I get frame rate drops into the 20's but on ultra it has never dropped below 30. Switching from ultra to medium really made no difference at all in my fps.

As far as gameplay goes I really like it. I haven't played much battlefield since 1942 and I'm loving it. Some of the fire fights inside the tunnel get really intense when you have a couple small groups that work together. I can't wait for the full release, once there's larger maps, more people, and vehicles, it should get crazy.

Of these the only one I've come across on the PS3 is the getting hit behind cover, however some of that I have put down to the destructible nature of the more lightweight cover, particularly against the LMG's.

One I came across (and its only happened once so far) was when prone outside I wasn't able to view down the sights until I had switched to the pistol and back again.

Suppression when defending in the Metro tunnels is so well done its mad, and as an attacker it forces you to take a careful approach when you enter and move into the tunnels.

Just loving the beta so far.
