I'm buying MW3 no matter what. BF3 has some selling to do before I decide to buy it. Having a beta is a nice start...
 
Man Caspian Border would be epic to play. :drool:

I have to admit I am missing the vehicles right now, the infantry only thing is getting a little linear. Even if they added an ATV it'd add a little more entertaining element to the map. But it is Beta so I digress.
 
I hope there is a game mode without vehicles. In BF2 all the attackers would do is run up in the middle of the base and sit there with nothing I could do about it unless I wanted to die 20 times trying to get off a few rockets which would do nothing because the tanks would be repaired by the time I'd respawn or they'd just grab another one in the off chance one was destroyed.

They will have Team Deathmatch with no vehicles.
 
I never tried SDM in BF2. Hopefully its better. The one and only time I tried it on vietnam it was only our squad in the game. :dunce:

And on top of that they will have Strike at Karkand which those who remember BF2 is definetly a infantry map.
 
One map I wish they'd bring back is backstab. Did anyone play BF2 modern combat? That was easily the most popular map in the whole game.
 
@ Time_Attack: I read on the Battlefield blog that there would be an option to make games 'infantry only'. It was posted there in the blog post explaining the multiplayer game modes

That may be on pc only when people host their servers but I may be wrong.

Secondly this is the "open beta" just early access right now. I've made an EU account tonight so if the NA PSN doesn't update forever I'll be able to download the beta as I'm running out the for for school and when I get back just after lunch I'm all ready to go :)

And Caspian borders is playable right now on PC I believe... Just need to get the password as the servers running it are password protected. The new password is apparently everywhere.
 
I would imagine that they kept Caspian Border locked up in closed beta in order to make sure everyone plays and gets the infantry bugs out. Vehicles can be sorted once the (numerous) infantry bugs and glitches are resolved.
 
so its the 29th but so far i didnt find anywhere a downloadable beta ... anyone got any info on where to download?
 
Is the PSN Open Beta up? I've got a US and NZ account, so I can only download from those two stores :(
 
Well it's 2 am here but for some god awful reason I'm still up and thought I'd let you guys know Beta is up in the EU store. I'm using my premade account :)

Edit: I'm loading er up right now. I've got class in 6 hours.... Hmmm. Just one game :) :lol:

Yea, it didn't specify for which platform, so might have been PC.
Glad to hear the PS3 one is already available to all :)
 
Up on EU PSN. Downloading it now, 1173MB if you want to be precise. Speeds aren't too bad at the moment.
 
Played another hour or so, got the M249. King of suppressive fire right now, what a beast. But i can honestly say im bored off operation metro. But I am more of a vehicles(as in helicopters) kind of guy. Im itching to play caspian border but it looks like ea/dice has put a cap on the shenanigans. It would have been nice to release both for beta one for big map/vehicle enthusiasts(imo true battlefield) then metro for infantry enthusiasts. Oh well have to wait less then a month.
 
In the trailers I saw a vehicle on the Paris Metro map (the park part). So this is not in the beta?

No vehicle. It was in the alpha but they took it out for balancing.

God this game is amazing! Absolutely loving it so far.
 
Played a few matches yesterday.

What a blast.

Weapons ballistic is way better than in BC2. Some glitches but it's still fun (on PC the first M-coms, destroy A first, glitch your way to B lol)

Q: Are those weapons all the weapons of the final game or is there more to come.
I have the feeling BC2 had more weapons.
But the P90 is in 👍 that makes up for a lot rofl
 
Well I think the game sucks now. The map is played out for me. It's too hard to win against a decent team.
