Well we tested it a little bit more last night. As Daniel pointed out depending on the server you can earn points, ribbons and stats with only two people in the server.

These custom servers really render the 'level' system pointless as its easy to rack up 35k+ games now in a 90 min game with DLC at hand. A bit of a middle finger to guys who spend 100hrs levelling up all sorts of gadgets and living through meat grinder servers.
 
Thinking about renting a server haven't read the terms yet. Anyone know how it works. Like. Do I have to be online for the server to be open?
 
I finally got back online on BF3 tonight and had very very mixed experiences :lol:. Not sure if it's my end or not but my bullets just weren't registering as often as I'd like leaving me to have games with usually about 3 deaths in a row then 4-6 kills without dying then back to deaths and so on. Left me with a sour taste and I'm put off playing if I can't get some consistency going either connection or just my game in general but I'll be back tomorrow 👍.

Did get in a nice 2-3 rounds on Rush with VEXD and Dzidza though, particularly attacking on Bazaar and Kharg.

One game for 90 minutes, or multiple games for 90 minutes... XP is XP.
 
Yesterday on the battlefield,I stubbed my toe on some rubble and died. (from shock?)

I must have the worst case of bad luck.

Careful of that concrete rubble at the entrance to the subway tunnels in Paris everyone. I've seen several soldiers go down there.

(p.s.) I also jumped a railing in the park and must have landed on my ankle wrong because it took off 70% of my health.

Given a 'typical' normal round takes 25mins and nets maybe 7000 points for a good noob, it is still easier to point score in a custom server as you don't have to focus on PTO, you can focus on padding your scores much more easily (go sit in a chokepoint for 10 mins and revive 30 guys instead of flanking and taking an unguarded flag..).
 
Most rounds I have played have lasted 15 minutes in a standard server and I can easily get 7000 points just by PTO and everything that goes with it.
 
If you land on the hill above the tunnels of Damavand Peak you get Insta-Death. But as me and Caz experienced, if you even fly too close to it in a chopper, it Suicides everyone in it, without destroying the chopper.

We had a few good rounds.

I think there was some sort of lag happening, not so often but it did happen. I had problems connecting to EA servers, had to restart the game. ž

Sorry for our talk yesterday, I joined my Croatian friend, so we mostly spoke in Croatian :-p.

It was great playing with you guys.

Found a 1250 ticket Metro CQ server and teamed up with a random who was actually pretty awesome to play with. Got about 15,000 XP from about 70 minutes of play. We were out-matched though. Afterword, on the same server, I played a 1250 ticket Canals match with him and did alright.

Theres some traliers on youtube for renting a server that gives you most of the info. Don't have the link right now....

I encountered some sort of issue last night where my chopper could be blown up by a SMAW from nowhere, was shot down with BULLETS from some Engineer's gun, And then finally, when I swooped down low to avoid a missile lock, I couldn't bring the nose back up at all, for like, 3 seconds, so I hit a rock, stubbed the chopper's toe, and Bad Lucked.....

It was at that point, when I'd lost all control over the Havoc, without losing any controls.... that I rage-quit.

Seens like Damavand is my 'buggy' map. Prepatch, there were random places on each game map where the closer one got the louder a ringing became until it became sore to listen to, but then faded as soon as you moved the soldier away from the particular "sound spot".

Now it is the opposite - random silence points where all you can hear is our own soldiers footsteps.

Anyway, I noticed an interesting side effect of using the IRNV scope with the PKP - you can see the bullet spread on full auto perfectly and thus adjust your aim accordingly. On full auto, the barrel traces a small circle for the first 25 rounds or so, before settling into a steady aimed line. Good suppression effect in other words if you dont drop them.
 
Sick and tired of my beat up ds3's. Sticky left stick and d pad activates itself when I tense up a bit. Nothing worse than coming around a corner, find an enemy there squeeze the trigger only to tense up and switch to my RPG or some other gadget. Only to get killed during the swap. So I bought a new one ;) I know sometimes its in the game but that controller was bugged in all games.

Also, psn cards purchased.
Ill have a server up starting tonight around 11 pm eastern us time.

Ill post up the name when its all set up. Most likely be gtp it something like it.
Not sure if I'm going to password protect it or not. If I do I'll post the password in our bf3 group.

I have plenty of room on my friends list so feel free to send me a request.

Also if a couple of you want admin privilege s let me know.

Ive seen numerous rooms on GT5 saying "GTPlanet" etc, so I thinks it's fine as long as you don't use "Official" in the room name.
 
Not sure. Ill prob rotate them.every couple of days. Modes as well, still need my squad rush wins ;)
Also, if I add anyone as admins, your free to adjust whatever except password ;)

Prob going to start with
Canals, firestorm, kharg, sienne,Oman and bazaar.

I'm open to any ideas tho. This is for everyone ;)

I wouldn't mind being an admin. It would be good to have maybe three or four other admins that are in other parts of the world.
 
I don't want to sound all naggy here, but could I be an admin? It would be good to have admins from different time zones, so the server can be kept in good shape, (if it would be public at certain times) and I have been credited with running a good cruise lobby on GT5. (actually managing the lobby, kicking people, etc.) It's totally up to you though, it is your server. :)
 
Mike, yea and accepted. Patrick and Parker, absolutely.
Exactly the reasons I was thinking about adding a few members from here.
