Not a fan of this nerf. Not sure why they felt the need to reduce it, it was spot on.

Agreed. It felt more realistic with the high suppression because in a real fire fight if bullets are flying by you your not coming out from cover. With the suppression it forced people to stay in cover, for a different reason than a real fire fight but still it was effective. Now without the suppression you may not even know somebody is shooting near you unless you get hit...

I'm glad to see a nerf to the suppression. While the idea is good (making players seek cover)it was implemented poorly. For example, I deploy a bipod and kill a couple guys but the third guy fires at me and now my gun acts like it's no longer on a bipod. Um.. what?

I don't know if you guys use the semi-auto snipers often with close range sights, but when someones firing at you and your single bullet doesn't go where you aim then you'd want it toned down just a tad, too. I do like the suppression effect, but not when it hinders you that much. I think it should be more visual than physical.

Why would I use semi auto sniper rifles as close range? Not what they were designed for so I don't mind. Grab your pistol for that or switch to an assault rifle.

Some people do though, that's the thing.

I get what you and Speedy are saying, but it really risks reducing the effectiveness of LMG - their primary goal is to deliver supression and if that effect is being watered down, and no additional accuracy is being given the LMG, then that's a high penalty on Support.

They really need to tweak the suppression per weapon, not just tar everyone.

But the thing is sniper rifles were never designed to be a close quarters weapon. A guy with a sniper rifle should never be able to kill a guy with an assault rifle, smg, lmg, shotgun or pistol at close range. It wouldn't happen in real life and considering this is somewhat of a "simulation" and they are trying to adhere to realism it shouldn't happen in game.

I'm a big fan of suppression and it tries to force people to use the roles and weapons as they are designed to be used. Don't like suppression on your sniper rifles at close range?

Easy solution: Use a gun suited for close range.

Sniper rifles are medium to long range support weapons not guns to be used as ridiculously powerful assault rifles...

I tend to agree with that, but hey, that happens to be the way that it is I guess.

I just use the all purpose 12 gauge. Suites my needs well enough.

To clarify what I meant, just by having a sniper with a close range sight doesn't mean I use it at extreme close range. I still use it at medium range but because of the damage/accuracy I can get quick headshots and hold down an area. Such as the tunnels on Metro

FAMAS + bipod = epic
I was using Foregrip and Suppressor and that wouldn't deal with the recoil. I wanted to get 5 SS's so I set up at Op Metro and got my third (351 kills total)

Workaround for the FAMAS stat issue is to start the round with a different gun, get a kill with it and then switch to the FAMAS.

It's working for me if I do that.

For the console people, after the patch, give the color blind mode a try. I am not color blind, but some of the text and other stuff on screen is a bit sharper and easier to read/see in color blind mode. I also find the darker blue and red easier to read/see compared to the neon colors.

I use colour-blind assist on MW3 as well. It's generally a lot clearer anyway.

New maps and patch coming soon I see... I'll be online again in the near future, its been far too long! :D

Great, just what we need, invincible choppers! Looks like Tanks are buffed back too.

Good, choppers are next to useless at the moment if someone of the opposition has a tank with guided missiles and someone on CITV, there is no defence at all against it. Just get your team running Iglas and a Soflam. You'll only spend any time in one if the ground and tanks aren't interested in taking you out, or a Jet flying in to you just enough to send you to the ground, but not enough to kill them. They sorted MAVs collision issues out, but not air attack.

Wonder if they've fixed flares/ECM working on Firestorm with this patch, it never works there.

The suppression perk should be extremely useful for this reason, that aside I don't think the support class is in any danger of becoming underpowered with the amount of death dealing power the bipod on an LMG provides and mighty C4 for make big great success explosion. As it is now it takes very little for suppression to hinder your accuracy so much that you can't even counter-suppress let alone hit the enemy target which is beyond annoying that I can't put in some fire on a guy to suppress them back a little to help my escape.

I like suppression, but a slight tone down sounds about right for me and the LMGs will still have their use just as they did prior to the update which increased suppression (note we will still retain higher suppression than previous versions bar the current). I don't expect to kill a guy suppressing me, but I expect to be able to put rounds close enough to suppress them a little when I've only had 1 or 2 bullets come past me.
