Battlefield 3 multiplayer will be unavailable on all platforms June 1st from 8 to 9 AM UTC for an update that addresses a recent problem that has prevented some players from recognizing experience and rank progressions (tied the use of the FAMAS by any player in a match).

If this actually works, I might finally be able to get the last 38 kills I need with that gun... which I would have had it done days ago if the stats worked properly. If those stats were added back I'd probably have 400+ kills with it. :yuck:
 
Okay guys (and/or gals), just a random question since I'm planning to finally get this game soon and my 40 gig PS3 fatty is currently a bit short on HDD space (planning to upgrade it once), how much HDD space is minimally required to run it?
Is there some big install data requirement I need to consider?
Have looked for answers elsewhere yet I can't seem to get a clear one, thanks in advance.

Welcome :)

To be honest, I am not sure how much game space the original loadup takes, but since release there has been at least 1.6-1.8gb of patches and DLC and there is another huge DLC coming in about two weeks (assume 1gb) so that is nearing 3gb just with that.

Of course, you dont have to get the DLC, but it goes add to the games experience.

Just had a quick look on my save data Utility, and it was at 4086MB. Ofcourse as mike said, with the Update, DLC and premium on top of that dont be surprised if it excedes 6GB within a few days.

.my Game data, i have the most recent update and all DLC so far (BTK)

I know how that feels. I upgraded a couple years ago and it's so nice not having to worry about how much space you have left. :D
 
:sly:I just had a look at the BF3 game data file on the PS3 and it's at 4076MB's/roughly 4.1GB's. This is with all the current updates and B2K expansion.

The back of the BF3 game case states 2GB's is required for the game sans B2K expansion.

My BF3 save/system profile is at 1074KB's(roughly 1.1MB's)

Which reminds me, although they have their reasons, I dislike copying prohibited save files.
 
By the way, Dice are showing Close Quarters aswell as armored Kill at E3. I know thats the Dlc most of you guys are looking forward to, So i thought i would let you know if any of you dont already.

Starting from the 5th we will be getting videos and details.👍
 
Thanks for all the quick answers guys, seems I will be able to play it right now but with very few space left for anything else, so I might have to take the plunge and consider upgrading to a bigger HDD very soon.

Anybody here play killzone 3? I was given a copy song with the gun the other day. Should I try yo play through 1&2 first? Or will 3 stand up alone?
I made a friend at a cookout last weekend who ones a second hand store. Think the Guy has a man crush on me. I can now go into his store and borrow any games I want and return them when done. Systems as well.
Score one for this guy!

Might grab a ps3 and two copies of gt5 to give triple screens a go.
 
Killzone 3 picks up where Killzone 2 left off, so it might be a good idea to play 2 so you have an idea of the story. Otherwise, it's pretty ok for a shooter.

Bf3: had a decent night tonight. Played a little deathmatch. 24 service star with g53. ;)
 
Man, I started with the Assault class again today (AEK with ironsights is quite nice). I haven't run assault in months, usually spending time as Support with a big LMG or Engi + PDW on tank maps.

Man, I am so rusty being at the front of the engagement now :lol:. It takes a completely different mentality to be effective with an AR versus a LMG. Had a few ok rounds with Patrick playing medic more then stormtrooper and then as soon as I tried to be a GI on metro, I ran into a team with a load of 100 star wings on it and got squashed like a bug.
 
I found a rush server that had everything normal! It was so much fun. The teams were really competitive so the games were always close.

I can confirm that stats are saving and the FAMAS glitch has been fixed. Played a bunch of rounds this morning and lost nothing.


I had a rather epic match on Grand Baazar or however it's typed. Some how I managed to live despite being attack by a full room of opposing team using tanks etc and being under heavy fire all by myself. That was interesting. I was soooo in the wrong place at the wrong time.
