Yeah I kept turning it on and saying hello, hello.....hello! And nothing. My girlfriend came over and said who the hell are you yelling at? Haha.
 
Well I have been playing quite a bit this morning on the PC and have started to get using a keyboard for movement. I get prone and crotch confused often, but will hopefully get the two down. So far I win more often and am more accurate with my shots on PS3.

Just been on it again. The rush mode, I've now realised is just Demolition from COD. I use the engineer class, I feel comfortable with that. I ran into no bugs in particular in this 20 min game I played, but when you squad spawns on you, and you're prone, you move along a lot. Not really a bug, but annoying nonetheless. The train station part of the map needs to be reworked however, I noticed theres a lot of "Happy" campers hiding behind Objective A or Objective B, as soon as you go by, Bang Bang Bang, you're dead. The high intense lights some players have on their guns can be annoying at times. But overall I'm having a blast with this game. If you would like to play the Beta with me, just add me. :lol: Demolition is just Counterstrike for COD. Rush is much more than that.

I am same way. I had a really hard time getting use to the mouse and keyboard. I'm starting to get decent though. I's alot easier to get headshots on the pc once you get use to it. I''m really starting to see why people say the mouse and keyboard are better then a controller for shooters.
 
Just got out of 2 really good sessions!!

8-2 and 9-2 with a team that was working like hell. We just dominated the outside (defended) we attacked straight away and kept the attackers at spawn cutting of any sneaky guys or blasting the sniper guys.

Love it when it goes well and team really works as group, hate it when you are getting dominated by a much better force :)

yea, when a team works together it makes the game 1000% more fun.
 
Sofar me and my friend (on ps3 beta) are not to keen on the controller mapping my friend hates it actully , having the knife as the trigger doest really work for me so im hoping we get more opions for the game but i think MW3 is gonna give this a good run for my money imma get both actually

Yea I can't talk to my friends in game, just in menus, and my friend's friend was stuck at the main menu but he could talk to us in game and he could hear us, and even when I got on my friend's squad it wouldn't let us talk, but I hear other people having conversations O.o
 
Not quite sure about my first impressions. Is the BETA in a certain graphics level or does it auto-set itself based on your system?

It wasn't running too great, but the game didn't really look that impressive either.

Anyone else having lots of input lag on the PC? I got used to it in BF2, but it seems a lot worse in BF3.

I would be absolutely gutted if this would be an indication I probably need to buy it for console, because a) I have been looking forward to this game for so long, and b) I hate console FPS games like athletes foot.

If you press escape at some point in game you can alter your graphic options :) It will run better on final release but not a huge amount.

On the Pc front :
I connect 99% of the times without trouble
Not a lot of bugs for me
Runs great
can't wait for Ultra settings

I really hope they open a second map


also the unlock tree is better but there could be a bit more weapons.

I don't think the graphic options do anything. I can go from ultra to low and get no FPS change, and the game looks the same. It seems it does an auto detect and just uses them. I have friends that say the game looks bad, but it looks great on my setup, so I'm assuming the changes you make don't actually do anything it just auto detects and runs that no matte what. The only graphics change I have been able to get to take any effect is by enabling vsync in the nvidia control panel. Even vsync in game does nothing. I could be wrong though, but I've played with the settings a good bit.

I also read that Tessalation isn't even turned on, and a good bit of graphics are dumbed down. These are supposedly dice quotes but I haven't seen Dice actually comment on it. But as far as the ingame seettings go, I can't get them to change anything, except for the full screen view.

Read on other forums that the settings stay on medium, no matter what. So even if you put them on ultra, they will remain on medium. A lot of people are going to be surprised when they get the full game and put details on ultra with 5FPS as a result. :lol:
 
This is the "best" game I've managed so far. They stopped us on the second set of objectives in the sub way. My team was awful but I did manage a sweat triple shotty kill directly off spawn. 3 guys were just chilling in front of my mobile spawn facing the other way.

So far I think this is pretty dang fun. I'm highly considering pre-ordering the game now. There are many faults still in the beta but I'm sure they know about them because they're pretty major. So far I've found my sprint doesn't work half the time, I sometimes can't ADS and there are some random reload issues I've seen.

The ultra graphics will be enabled in the final game.

Nice, I think I got a triple spray or two last night :) and the knife button is R2 at default, but you can't panic knife, I think you can only knife when your behind them or your not getting shot at or their not shooting you, and I also noticed if you hold the knife button R2, you can equip your knife :) by itself

There was one guy I don't know what his deal was. He was shooting at me from behind for so long I assumed he was on my team. I guess he just doesn't know how to aim. After he wasted a mag or two he finally knifed me. I thought it was funny.

Sniping is pretty hard in this game so far. I think the M16 on semi-auto is just about as powerful as the first two sniper rifles you get.

I unlocked the SV98 bolt action :) there's an M40 bolt action too, I saw it :D

What was your auto detect settings? Mine are high on everything excpet the top option and medium on post-antialiasing or whatever it's called. I've tried changing them up, and exiting the game and coming back, but I'm always in the 35-60fps range and the game alway looks about the same to me. It did seem like on one trial I went to low settings and the smoke that's kind of alway on the screen was gone entirely, but that only happened once. The next time I ran the game it was back and still on low settings.

I really wish dice would just make sticky threads in the forums and let people know whats going on, so everyone doesn't have to guess, but then again people discusing what's going on with settings and such are one thing that keeps people talking about the game.
 
I've been killed by an SV98. The only way I see to unlock it though is to use something else in place of a rifle on the recon kit... The SVU and MK11 are pretty weak. My recon kit is currently an 870MCS with RDS and extended mags. :lol:

I found you can take the scope off and use it as a rifle, I wonder if you can do that with the MK11 and SVU :)

You can take the scope off the Mk11 and SVU. I used the PP 2000 to unlock the SV98.
 
I briefly took the scope off the MK11 but its ROF is pretty slow and I died quickly. I might try it again and see if I can get a 4x optic in place of the 8x optic.
 
Time attack are you considering ps3 or pc?

If your considering a pre-order I highly suggest you do it even if it's only the 5 bucks down. The reason I say that is you get the Back to Karkland expansion free if you do and I have a feeling it will be extremely popular and it saves you $10-15 down the road.
 
If that is the case, then I need to pre-order the game, though right now I cannot decide between PC or PS3.
