All the pre-order copies are called "Limited Edition" versions.

There are specific retailer bonuses though so you may want to check those out.
 
Do you automatically get the Back to Karkand pack with all preorders? Because GameStop for me has a bad reputation for putting in XBox preorders for me when I want to get a game for PS3. :/ I preordered Black Ops and the guy never asked me what console it was for, so I had to go the mall and change it the day before Black Ops's release date, and I preordered Battlefield 3 and said PS3, and after I said "PS3 right?" and the guy goes "Yeah- Oh! It's in for XBox, good thing you reminded me!" :p
 
I'll probably pre-order it from game stop. They've been ok by me in the past.

Can someone tell me how/when I can unlock the SKS and M39 in the beta?
 
So after a not so great start and a weak first impression the other night, I gave it another go. My second experience with the game is far better. Took a bit of getting used to how it handles, especially since I play a fair bit of CS and I'm more accustomed to the character movement in that, however I'm really starting to appreciate the small details in this game.

Also the old BF2 habits are starting to kick in again with it being more squad based. Loving when I get a decent squad and Metro is well designed for a lot of distract and flank maneuvers.

I was ready to give the full retail a miss the other night but I'm back in the supporters camp now and will pre-order today.
 
I'm loving the beta. The metro tunnels are great with a thermal scope! Racked up about 10 kills sneaking around in support class, with my thermal.

Must... Preorder... Now...
 
Hugely disappointed with the performance of the game. Turned everything to low and it still had a too low frame-rate to make it playable as a multiplayer.

You can take the scope off the Mk11 and SVU. I used the PP 2000 to unlock the SV98.

It's not hard to unlock the SV98, the Mk11 and SVD are very, very easy to get kills with.

I'm close to unlocking the SKS, think my level up bar needs 18,000-19,000 points total to get there if that helps anyone?

I've only used recon once for about 2 mins to pick off a sniper who was murdering us in that hall leading to the B Mcom in the 3rd set. Ended up with a 2 kill one shot because both guys were prone ha! So my collective total in recon is 300 points.

I've pretty much only played assault so far. I'm loving the M416. In my last game last night I unlocked the grenade launcher which in the description said can use anti-armour round? If I read that right. I'm interested to see how that goes.

I also found the Holographic scope hard to use on that gun so at the time being I've got heavy barrel, foregrip and the red dot sight on there right now. I'm not a big fan of using the laser sight or tac. light just because of how it gives away position at distance.
 
I don't like the heavy barrel. It added a lot of recoil to my M16. I did notice its more accurate during semi auto but that isn't always practical to use.
 
Haha, I noticed in my last round that you can switch to semi-auto also on the PS3 with d-pad down. Makes shooting at long and mid range so much more precise and satisfying.

From what I see on the Battlelog site there are three - the SV-98, M40 and the M98B.


Also for those complaining about the issues with the beta, no need to get too worried

A lot of what you are seeing in the BETA doesn't exist in the main game already. 1st Party submissions mean we couldn't give a version of the latest code in the BETA but the retail game is well ahead of what you are seeing now with a lot more bug fixes already in place.

Last day of work for this week, finally i'll be able to spend some quality time with the game hopefully unlock more cool stuff. The best I got right now is the M249 with 3.4x scope. It works wonders in the tunnels mounted on a knocked over vending machine. I still haven't even attempted to switch firing modes but it doesn't matter. If this game is correct I shouldn't have an option of switching fire modes on the M249 there is only safety and fire.
 
How do you deploy the bipod? The game has done it automatically for me but its always in the stupidest places where I didn't want to deploy it. Whenever I actually tried to do it manually I couldn't do it.

I deploy it it by right clicking. Simetimes its in a bad spot for me to i retry. And if its just not working i move.
 
THe M249 has only automatic.

To deploy the bi pod press ironsight. When prone you mow down enemies. at the 3rd B Mcom on the corridor I had a 10 kill streak. Prone. Bipod. Amazing.

The M416 on single shot, heavy barrel and front grip is amazing
 
I was prone on a set of those stairs waiting for a guy to come down. Soon as he hits the top stair I try to aim at him and fire but instead the game deployed the stupid bipod.

You can switch from full-automatic fire (hold the trigger and you empty the clip) to semi-automatic (you have to tap the trigger like with a normal Pistol). This way you have a lot less recoil, which not only makes the shooting more precise (less "spraying"), you also see more while aiming and save tons of ammunition.

Yes guys, as other people have mentioned, please give the early sniper rifles a try without the scops on Metro, especially in the subway, ...it's just rapetastic.

I was playing the hell out of Caspian Sea on Thursday, then as soon as I finally get my old joystick up and running to get into my flying groove, they take all the Caspian servers off!

Trust me guys, reserve all judgement till you've played true Battlefield in conquest mode with 64 players, it's back to the old glory days for me, can't get enough, it's just awesome.

The tanks are amazing fun too, although I only got a bit of flight time. Gunning in the chopper seems really nerfed since you have to "reload" after only like 20 rounds. I think the missile's a vehicle upgrade. I think I got a jet upgrade but I wasn't sure what it did since, like I said, when I went back to try and play more they announced that the passwords wouldn't be given out anymore.

Yes I'm on the PC, this was only for the PC beta. I briefly tried the PS3 beta and thought it was decent but I couldn't get through my paces like I would've wanted. Everything happens a lot slower it seems. On the PC the park section would go by in a flash then there always seems to be a long stalemate in the subway when on the PS3 I noticed attackers having a lot more trouble. Played it on the PS3 all morning. Can't believe they pulled off the graphics like that on the consoles. I have everything maxed on my rig and really the only difference I noticed on the PS3 is the lack of post-process, everything else was pretty much just as good.

Also, you gotta love those mobile spawn points that you can dish out as recon. It's such an amazing tactical addition. I didn't even realize what the big radio thing did for a while before I spawned on one.

Use it wisely! Can't wait for the game! this makes the next couple of weeks seem even longer I NEED MORE MAPS xDDDDD

Ya its the same one and I watched a video with some guy using it and it arms and defuses the bombs. I believe I'm level 23.
