Happy happy! Joy joy!

Home from work, finished supper.
Decided to punish myself with a quick check see if things are working yet. If not I was gonna try the store download again while.I was in the shower.

But, it worked!!!!! I don't know why by it worked! No redownload or anything. Not sure which file I ended with over the course of the last 2 days of fooling around tho.

Have plans to go to a buddies house tonight. Think I'm bringing my ps3 over. I have a feeling these maps will convert him from cod
 
Got my Gun game top five out of the way thankfully, can concentrate on CQDOM now wich im enjoying immensely.

Also got my EOD Bot kill out of the way. :D.

LSAT is brilliant, loving the Iron sights aswell. Works well with the M145 3.4 sight also.

JNG-90 i personally liked the bit i used it.

Hammer out 40 SMG kills and iv'e got hold of my beloved MP5K!!!:drool:.

I got a few question or two.

How long is the premium offer gonna be avalible it seems like somthing that might expire in like 3 months.

And are there any screen shots of the new guns?

Premium won't be going anywhere. It's here to stay. Plus, Battlefield twitter replied to someone who asked that same question and they said it can be purchased at any time.

As for screenshots, I have no idea. I've only seen the "Assignments" on Battlelog for the guns.

I purchased Premium (PS3 via in game) and downloaded the close quarters maps but I am unable to find any servers hosting them.

How are you guys playing the new maps ?

FYI - I noticed after buying premium on PS3, my PC version now also shows as having unlocked premium (I was thinking I would have to buy it twice). I'm not 100% certain if it has, I am yet to play the new maps on PC, but I believe it may not be active yet (PS3 has a 2 week head start I believe).

I find the new patch has not fixed the sound issues and the hit detection still has issues (some guys are bulletproof!) but I am use to the game being buggy.

I had same problem... My PS ID is USA, bought Premium from USA PSN store and from the game I can't access the premium feature nor the in-game store? any help

For those who don't have a PSN Store on their main account, should get Premium from the same place they activated the Online Pass.
I got my BF3 copy from UK, so activated it through the UK store, and am able to play it on my main account.

My guess is that you bough Premium from a different region than your disk.

I set the search to look for "any" modes but checked only the new maps.
It keeps saying "no servers found"

EDIT : I had player numbers set to 20+ (Doh!) , I see that the new maps are for 16 players.

Just had a cool thought, Whats the odd's we'll get those DICE only guns (M1911 S-TAC, 44. Magnum S-TAC and Silenced Shotgun) as part of the Soldier updates in the future. The first soldier update was the ACB premium Knife and premium dogtags. HMM i wonder :D
 
All new weapons unlocked and i gotta say SCAR-L & MTAR-21 = :drool::drool::drool:
 
I had the most epic first Gun Master game ever. Never played the mode before, but I was neck and neck with an opponent up until the SCAR-L. For some reason at that time I went about 6 deaths without moving on to the next gun. After that though I picked up the pace, I made up all the lost ground on the sniper rifles. A nice double-kill with the launcher set me up for the final removal on one unlucky fellow's tags for the win.

It can be quite exciting actually, Its not my cup of tea but i see why some people will like it. I played my one and only GM game earlier and i was in the odd position of urging someone to win as i could see i was just forth with 2 guys close behind and i needed atleast a 5th for the MP5K unlock. it got to the sniper rifle and i thought here we go its the end, their gonna overtake me now:(. low and behold 5 seconds after i spawned with the sniper rifle someone got slit :D.
 
Well just played a few hours on a server just cycling through the modes on the new maps. I won my 3rd gun master game. I love that mode. I do wish there was a free for all version like COD and CS have but it's still great fun.

I was ahead all game but almost lost it on the bolt action sniper rifle. Then I somehow quickscoped two guys with two headshots while they were both firing at me with assault rifles... I do wish I had something to record that.

All in all pretty happy with it. It's nice to have the CQ in there with the regular BF maps.
 
The JNG-90!

So I've finally unlocked the 8x and straight pull bolt, so far I'm pleased with it. Only thing I haven't had a chance to test is the range and bullet drop.

But so far it is good, so here's my conclusion so far. (This is for hardcore)

The power is good, hit shoulder up and its a one shot kill almost any range, the accuracy is ok, the scope movement when using straight pull bolt is annoying but you get used to it. It has the 2nd fastest bullet speed, i think 2nd best bullet drop, not sure, power is similar to the L96, maybe more. The scope in speed and chambering a bullet speed is 3rd best, M40 being first, then SV98, JNG-90, L96, M98B.

Its a powerful contender in the right hands. So any sniper's out there i would recommend unlocking it.
 
I'll be getting another $30 voucher after school tomorrow so I'll have enough to finally get Premium. I'll also have enough to get the port of Most Wanted :D
 
I cant wait until i get my internet back... i have 2-3 more weeks until im in my new house. CQC here i come muahahahahah
 
Played 2 rounds finally on lunch break. Scrapmetal ad op# something. Flags flip quick in domination. Can't play again until tonight now. :( but I can play all night. :)
 
I'm actually really impressed with the new maps. They have a lot of decent flanking routes and it's so fast paced its phenomenal. I love how teamwork still is key though because a squad of 3 or 4 sticking together will dominate every lone wolf or pair especially if 1 or 2 are assault.

I haven't played enough to pick a favorite but I'm quite happy with my purchase so far. Then again I always did like COD before so maybe that's what I like as a bit of a change of pace from traditional BF.
 
Really, really tempted to pick up BFPremium and try out those new maps. Is it worth it?
 
If you still play alot and plan on picking up some future dlc then yes IMO its worth it.
I have only played 2 rounds so far but the maps are good and it feels like a different game the way the games are so frantic. I'm sure they will settle down a little once people start to learn the maps more, but it's definitely faster paced than standard bf3 warfare.
 
What would the best squad be for CQC maps?
I'm thinking this:
Assault /w Medipak
Assault /w Smoke
Support /w PDW
Recon /w PDW and MAV/TUG-S

If everyone were to use the IRNV scope as well, the smoke could help.
 
There's 2 variables which really play in to if premium is worth it. Will you be playing the game enough in the next year or so (given it costs the same as a brand new game)? And will the future DLCs be worth it?

This pack is good, but I don't feel it has enough in it to keep me personally away from normal and B2K matches. The weapons are nice but only the L86A2 and SPAS are a really competing for spots as my favourite weapons of their types, ultimately however none of the weapons are real must haves they're all just decent and balanced like most weapons in BF3. Close Quarters is just a nice change of pace to me, every now and then I'll pop in for a few rounds when Conquest/Rush just isn't working for me.

Squad wise, Assault x3 and Support to C4 on an objective. Get on that revive train, I don't think the TUGS works properly because of the multi-level mini-map. Smoke + IRNV won't work as it's IR smoke which should theoretically block IRNV scopes as well.
 
Thanks, didn't realise that. It's awesome when a squad works together. Comes out on top every time 👍
