Had a good session today with RXP. The fir st time we played Rush on Kharg today something amazing happened: The enemy team abandoned the attack chopper. So what did I do? Jump in it, go pick up RX, and go the rest of the match killing the attackers in their own chopper. A bunch of them raged... I don't blame them.

We also had a star-to-finish run in the chopper on Firestorm playing with the other 23rd guys.

Explosive tips disable scout helos... yes please. lol.

I can imagine the rage I will create already.

Yup :)

My favorite scout heli disable was a quadruple kill squad wipe hand grenade. Dont remember if it actually disabled the heli or not. But in my opinion a once full now empty enemy choppa is a disabled enemy choppa!

haha, that must've been awesome.

I remember I once sniped the pilot out of a full scout chopper, the other guys inside didn't realise what was going on until it was too late to bail out. I didn't get credited for those three deaths but it was hilarious anyway, mainly because I've been in that situation myself and know it's just embarrassing!

On that note, what is it with scout chopper pilots who fly in a straight line at someone who is shooting them? The last time I played (about two months ago) I was accused of hacking because I landed a ludicrously long range shot on a chopper which looked, through my scope anyway, as if it wasn't even moving. Got lucky on the range estimate of course but it must be one of the easiest kills you can get on a moving target, yet I'm supposedly hacking.

Surely that would be to easy wouldnt it? lol:) I wouldnt mind though, As im the one try to down them not keep them up.

Im still intrigued to see how the Ammo/tip selection will work. The two main theories being, A all tips available for selection at any time. For instance, Take a long range headshot kill with the long range tip, Then you decide to search and sweep a building so you switch to a Motion Sensor tip to try and locate any enemies before entering all in the same life. The other option being a process similar to the Shotguns wich you can dicide the one type of ammo before you spawn.

Whats peoples prefered option?

I like both ways of doing it myself, I cant decide if the crossbow would be to "powerfull" with all tips available at one time, Or it might be not to influential if its limited to one Ammo type though. Something i thought is we may see a new specialisation for the ability to carry more arrows aswelll. As the Ammo spec is only for Primary and Secondary weapons and the xbow will be presumably a gadget slot so it would make sense. Unless they tie them into either the nade of explosive specialisations.

Maybe, having all the ammo but a limited amount for each. So 2 motion sensor tips, ect.

In the "Premium" video (ie on Youtube within 5 minutes) they were disabling scouts with one explosive bolt; whether or not it had been hit prior... I don't know. But, there were guys hanging off the side repairing one of them, it showed several; one hit disable, two hits destroyed.

While I would love to have the option to equip whatever bolt type on the fly, I have a feeling it will be identical to the M320; you only get one.

I think what you will see happen is it will be the same as the M26 and the M320 in your equipment slot. Before you deploy you can choose M26 mass, dart, slug, etc and with the M320 it's smoke, LVG, and whatnot. So for the equipment slot it will be crossbow explosive, sensor, etc.

Gameplay's already been shown with four dots where the select fire is, so I assume that you'll have all at once and they're available at one time after you complete their respective assignments.

Closer look at the Xbow and tip types.

Four bolts let you adapt to any situation
Once you have unlocked the new crossbow via the Assignment Sticks and Stones [Perform X], you will have immediate access to the standard barbed crossbow bolt.

Bolt_Standard.png

While we wouldn’t recommend anyone being hit by this bolt, it has a rather pronounced bullet drop bolt drop and therefore limited range. The other three bolt types for the crossbow are individually unlocked by Assignments, and you can bring both your crossbow and all associated bolts back with you to the base game.

Bolt_High_Explosive.png

The high explosive bolt is a short range bolt laden with C4, exploding on impact. While not packing as much punch as an RPG shot or C4 charge, it still gives Assault players (who normally only have grenades in way of explosives) a chance to destroy vehicles or blow holes in the terrain to make tactical use of the destruction in Battlefield 3.

Bolt_Scan.png

Then there’s the scan bolt, featuring a tip that includes a radio emitter, scanning the nearby area for enemies (in a 10 meter radius to be exact). Finally, the double feathered aerodynamic balanced bolt gives any class the ability to deliver deadly force at extreme range. For the Engineer class, for example, this means a rare chance to broaden their play style by adding long range engagement to what they already excel at: repairing/destroying vehicles and medium range combat.

Bolt_Balanced.png

In this manner, the four different bolts and the crossbow become a jack of all trades solution suitable for any class. While none of the available bolts are as powerful as the standard weapons they mimic (a genuine sniper rifle will always be more powerful than a sniper bolt, for example), the ability to switch bolt type on the fly means any class can adapt to any situation. We are super excited about this new addition to Battlefield and are eager to see how it will shape gameplay online, both in Aftermath and when bringing it back to the base game.

So you unlock the individual bolt types but they can be chosen on the fly once unlocked:)

I think DICE should have had an AK chassis for the Russian crossbow instead of a US-based chassis (looks like the M416 to me). Likewise, the US team should have the RDS and 8x instead of the Kobra and 7x.

Shut your mouth with your logic.

Either that or the M417, Wich i think looks more like it tbh.

Went 25-2 after joining later in Métro Rush with 4.4k points. All I did was deploy my bipod and go crazy with the QBB :p

Idea for a large clan-ish game mode:
Hostage senario (kind of)
Harcore (no minimap)
6/8 American vs 12 Russian
No respawn for American and 1 respawn for Russian.
Americans can use any American gun and sight.
Russian allowed any Russian gun no sights (1 recon allowed)
Any CQ map. RU hold all flags (so not to give away hiding position)
11 russian to fight. 1 as 'hostage'.
US can use quads, buggies, tanks, and transport helo's.
RU can use Quads, buggies.
US objective is to Get into were RU's are holding the hostage and kill/retrieve from base.
RU's are to defend were ever the decide and basically stop the US.
No defibs, ammo pack, 1 med pack, no solfam/mav (RU), No AT mines(RU), no locking weapons (javilin, igla(RU)).

Need help to improve.

What do you think?

These 'scenario' games seem pretty fun, although I've got some changes I'd like to make, cause the 'hostage' should be in the same team as those who are trying to rescue him, no? Here's my take on things:
Mode: Conquest 500% Hardcore No Map (Russians hold all flags).
Maps: Gulf of Oman, Kharg Island, Bandar, Sharqi, Karkand(these seem like the best maps)

The Russians should take up a defensive stance inside or around buildings so they won't be spotted. US teams should be wary of AT Mines/RPG ambushes.

Team/Vehicle Rules:
-US: ATV, Jeep, Buggy, Transport Helo, Boat, Scout Helo (spotting and transport only), Jet with Rocket Pods
-RU: ATV, Jeep, Buggy
-US Jets are to be used as Strafing Runs. Enemy soldiers called out by Squad Leaders on the ground (e.g. "Two Enemies spotted south of Hotel")
-Spawn on Squad leader or RU Deployment only (in the case of Sharqi, spawn on the farthest flag).
-US: Up to 11 soldier, one 'hostage'
-Russians: Up to 12 soldiers.
-Max of two 'Long-Range' Recons on Russian side for spotting, long range engagements (as sniping is OHK due to Hardcore mode). Long Range ARs or Short Range Snipers allowed.
-One Mortar on RU.

Weapon Rules:
-Both teams use respective guns and sights
-No Javelin/SOFLAM combos. RPGs/SMAWs/AA Missiles allowed.
-Mines and C4 allowed (only defensively).
-No Defibrillators, SOFLAM or MAVs. Ammo and Meds allowed.

Map Rules

Gulf of Oman: No camping at top of Construction Building. Cranes (with Ladders) and Hotels allowed. Russian teams is to take B Flag before the game starts. US either spawn at A Flag or US Spawn.
Kharg Island: No parachuting to oil tower. US team to take Gas Station.
Bandar: Russians take all Village Flags. Leave Gas Station and Artillery Base neutral.
Sharqi: Russians keep all Flags. Spawn only at TV Station.
Karkand: Russians keep all Flags. Spawn only at Flag E.
Death Valley: Russians take all flags apart from A.

Main Objective: A HVT has been taken hostage by the Russians and are taking defensive manoeuvres in *insert city here*. Several squads, aided by helicopters and a jet now have to secure the HVT with any means necessary.

Guys, this is a really dumb question but how on earth does one connect their PSN to Battlelog? I really want to get the M1911 and be able to see my stats, but whenever I move right to see the Battlefeed, it says that my account has not been connected. I have a Origin account and everything, but I still can't figure it out.

It connects automatically, the trick is to have your Origin account email the same as your PSN email, which it most likely isn't. But you should be able to replace your Origin email to match your PSN one.
As for the Supp. M1911 you need to register to that website with you Origin account, if I recall correctly.

Alright, so I'm attempting to change my Origin email to my PSN email but it says to change my email I must input my "current password." By this, do they mean my Origin password or my email password or something else? Thanks.
