I have yet to give the Xbow a try outside of Scavenger. Even in Scavenger, I think I have only fired one or two bolts off.

Pretty much the same here. I'll have to throw it into a few of my kits this weekend and see if I can get any decent use out of it. I usually roll recon anyway.
 
Just fired up Battlefield 3 for the first time in ages and I love the new maps.

dchPSUone, I'd definitely recommend using the XBOW in recon. It's saved my life more than a few times and can be great in tight situations, especially in urban maps like the AM ones.
 
Just had a long ticket round at Azadi Palace - very cool map, I must say. I had a quick one at Epicenter too - not my favourite at the moment but a very impressive map too. What is certain for this DLC pack is that squad work is imperative. Try and be a lone ranger and there are an impossible amount of blind spots to cover.

Epicenter really comes out well in Conquest. I don't like it much in Scavenger or Team DM. In Conquest, it's just so fun to run around cap'ing and defending, so many awesome spots to hide in and be tactical through. It's my new favorite map.

I'm really getting peed off by clans that completely stack random public servers. Why ruin everyone else's fun in the server by completing crushing the opposition?

DICE should remove stats too.

And final rant, no one else apart from clans when they stack teams seem to PTFO. I don't know why but the quality of players have gone down dramatically, at least it feels that way. :ouch:
 
I can't really agree with that POV. As someone who does roll into servers with a full squad + of clan members, I find it very frustrating the way BF3 handles that. I wish it had a way to recognize clan tags, and NOT split those players up. It seems like every time I go in with six of our guys, we beat down the other team hard enough that they quit. No problem, more people will join. Except that the game decides to throw one of the squads (usually mine because it'll have less people) to the other side. Now it's just a game of our clan hunting each other down because we already know nobody else is getting the job done.

I know exactly what you mean to both parts of that post, my friend and i were in a game where the entire admin clan was playing and he got team swapped 7 times just so their players could be on one side, he was then swapped back and forth another 5 times for no reason what so ever and everyone left on our team was useless.

Yes I just put bolt action, suppressed, and short range in the same sentence. I didn't choose the thug life.

That is exactly why all of my friends stopped playing it. Why would you make a game that is so team worked based and then make it so hard to play with your team. Completely ruined the game for anyone who has friends.

I think the L96 does pretty good with that combo you mentioned, though I rarely use anything other than 12x scope and no suppressor. ;)

Still need to unlock the suppressor, but so far it's pretty good!

With a 4x scope, this is the ultimate rush weapon.
 
So far this has been my experience of the new maps:

Also, MAV killing seems to be back in fashion - the MAV's are exploding on impact anymore.

I'm struggling to find a weapon I gel with again, so am giving the PP2000 a go. I haven't even unlocked extended mags on it :scared:

Downloaded Aftermath today and i'm loving it!

What's everybody's favorite new map? Right now i'm liking Markaz Monolith, but Epicenter is growing on me. :)

I think Markaz is actually my least favorite of the new 4 but all in all they are probably the 4 best maps in the game. Epicenter can be a ton of fun but it seems a bit too easy to cap all the points and then spawn camp the other team at times (I've seen it happen and one team get off to a 500 ticket lead on multiple occaisions). Talah and the Palace are great maps and I've had nothing but fun on them. I wish vehicles weren't able to get up to the top floor on palace, but oh well :lol:

Haven't had time to play on weeknights lately, but hopefully I'll get some decent hours in this weekend.

Edit: Also, hardcore is the only way to play. Normal is so damn frustrating.
