I guess that's the difference, you stay mobile and engage at long range, I stay mobile and engage close up (most of the time). Then again a suppressed L85A2 has awesome long range ability, you just can't be moving when you want to use it!

I don't set out to play exclusively long range, I do play the objective so do have to go up close a lot of the time. I suppose that is the thing, I like a balanced loadout so I have survivability in most instances. You somehow concentrate on close quarter engagements but concede effectiveness at range.

Also I know you can't really be mobile while firing a weapon, I ment after firing, not staying where you fired and relocating. Thus, The orange triangle you just put on the minimap isn't an issue and is of no use to the enemy.

Still I suppose this is what makes BF3 so great, The different way people play and interesting ideas and tactics one comes across. :)

I see what you mean, and you're right... When you're far away. If you're approaching an objective with enemies in or near it and you pop up on their map, they'll know you're there and which direction to face in order to find you, which greatly reduces your chance of success. When there's distance between you and the objective you can go in almost any direction from there, when you're within 5-10 metres you can't really go anywhere else, if you get what I mean.

Yeah I know, I suppose something we've both forgot to mention is your on PC so I suppose you have more enemies to worry about.

There is that! Funny how a RAM limitation can completely change a game like that. I hope BF4, if it's on the PS4, has the same player count as the PC. You guys are missing out (on lots of deaths).

PS4 and PC will both have up to 64 players. No word on the Durango(or whatever Microsoft officially names it).

Anyone got tips on how to get the '10 kills with mobile artillery' done quickly?

I barely ever get my hands on it, and when I do, I get either teamkilled or shot down by chopper/jet/tanks.

I pretty much camped with it, spammed flags until I got hit markers and kept spamming. The AA missiles were a huge help, I think they accounted for seven of my ten, but I got all ten in about three games. I'm not sure if it was luck or a good tactic but that small tank graveyard on Armoured Shield helped quite a lot, I parked up there to camp for a while and no one bothered me. I wasn't sure if that's because there's pretty much no cover in the area around it or because I blended in with the dead tanks, but the latter was my intention!

I have Premium on the PS3 and I find use in all of the map packs apart from maybe Armoured Kill and Close Quarters. I'd use Armoured Kill since a helluva lot more on the PC since more people are on each map.

Besides, Premium is only NZ$30 right now and each map pack is around $10. If I were to get 2 or 3 of them, I might as well get Premium.

Then he won't get all the weapons and most are worth it

There were only weapons in B2K and CQ not including the S - Tac ofcourse.

Did you see Origin's big huge sale? I believe I'll be getting Battlefield 3 soon from this. :)

That's where I got the Vanilla game. Right now I'm considering getting Premium as well! :D

D'oh, I don't have patience to sit around spamming flags with firework rockets.

Only need that assignment and 3 others and im all done! :dopey:

I swear these new pilots have no skill whatsoever; no imagination, no creativity... in Air Superiority, it's a lock on free for all.

I had a bambi chasing me, and I gave him a chance to hit me, so, I flew straight... all I could see were his bullets flying all around my plane. I went up into the clouds, loop-de-loop, took him out quickly.

There was this one tricky little runt, with air radar, heat seekers and flares( I think) while as I had Belt Speed, Extinguishers, and Heat Seekers (dont really use them.. I only lock on to let 'em know Im there.). This guy came out of nowhere (every time) and took me out with heatseekers (he was horrible with the cannon). He only had 4 kills (my 4 deaths).

Another thing I hated was how players committ suicide before dying! Why did DICE let you access the menu while flying?! You should be able to access your menu before spawning (change teams, etc).

I used AA missiles to the get the kills. Camp the mobile artillery and shoot at anything and everything in the sky.

How good is the new pistol? Thinking about going for it.

I like it, Its my sidearm of choice now. Still it isn't groundbreaking though, afterall it is just a M1911 Supp with a taclight on it. Or vice versa.

I don't know why, but the PDW-R and I make beautiful babies.

I don't use it very often, and my stats with it don't seem exceptional compared to the others, but I find that at any range I can pull of a headshot without giving it much though (with irons). I don't like that I have to "waste" an attachment just to give it the same mag-size as the others (and it reloads slow), but I can't argue with in-game feel.

I found the PDW-R has really really awesome hipfire.
Really awesome gun and you don't even need to ADS.
