Just ordered my copy on Amazon. Released Nov. 2nd here in Japan. I think it's to give the rest of the world a head-start!

Unfortunately the 480 can't handle ultra, no big suprise. Well it can "handle" it but the stuttering is annoying.

The sound has improved alot, and so far i'm enjoying it. Just need to upgrade the video card. Good game so far.

It's not your 480, it's the game. I get the stuttering with SLi 570s. Somethings either wrong with the new Nvidia driver, or they changed something in the game since the Beta, and that's what's making it happen. I read that there is a fix for ATi cards that makes it stop, but I can't find anythiing for Nvidia yet.

Fix: People are saying to turn off Hyperthreading and it fixes the stuttering. Haven't tried it yet, but many have confirmed it works :)

Waiting to see which one to buy. BF3 or MW3...
To be quite honest I'm a mainstream noob when it comes to FPS games. I usually just buy COD. I hope MW3 will be as awesome as Call of Duty 4 (MW1). In my opinion that was the best FPS on PS3 ever.

Agreed.
I have played the hell out of both Modern Warfare games... and am on the fence on the BF3 vs MW3 issue. I have looked at all of the game play footage, and to me MW3 looks like the same old same old. I don't know how anyone can look at the BF footage and not fall in love. The vehicle/aircraft aspect alone is worth the switch IMO, not to mention the destructibility. I also could not get over how it sounded... the pops of distant gunfire and hollow boom of nearby explosions... and that was on my crappy laptop speakers! I might try renting both before I make my final decision... but right now I'm leaning heavily towards BF3.

Now that it's out, what do you owners think of it?

Meh, only the best in the sense that it was first. Not my favorite chocolate to say the least. Personally I loved CoD WAW, why? Because I was good at it, without MP40's or over powered weapons. But ever since i've gotten my hands on my 3rd Battlefield Title, Bad Company 2, I've been in love. And haven't played a FPS since.

I thought Bad Company 2 was a First Person Shooter? :dunce:
I played Bad Company 1 on Xbox 360 and one thing I love about it was the whole engine. Sound, graphics, destructible scenery... A masterpiece.
I was too used to the fast paced action of CoD4 though, I didn't have the patience.

Yup, Bad Company 1 was the FPS that won me over from CoD.

This is some ********!

I can´t play the game because it will be released the 27th....
It said 25th but due to their *****d up policies i can´t play it today...

Got the games and a receipt from Best Buy and GS... how do I get my pre order bonuses? Unless those douches didn't give me mah code.

My understanding of it is that BattleField is a very strategic game, it always has been. Call of Duty is simpler, but not in a bad way. This is the reason why it has become so successful, you can just pick it up and play online without taking consideration of too many variables like you have to do in BattleField.
I can't understand the hate between the two games. CoD has always been famous for twelve year olds spoiling the online play. Thats no problem for me, I'll use the mute. Battlefield has always claimed to be realistic... well I have yet to play a realistic FPS yet. They both seem to be excellent games, it's just about preference (obviously).
And about everyone hating the new games from being too similar from the last in the series, if something is successful why change it?

My first Battlefield game was BF2 and then I skipped BC1 but then got into BC2 when Black ops failed to live up to any hype.

I was a diehard COD fan for a long time, COD4 was by far my favorite. I do agree it has it's place in having and it's nice you can pick up the game, get into a match immediately and your done within 10 minutes. It's just COD doesn't have vehicles, doesn't have bullet drop, doesn't have the graphics, and doesn't have destruction. I like those things and I've gotten used to the fact that a game could take me up to 30 minutes to play but I find that awesome because so much can happen over the length of one game.

It was hard making the switch and I was reluctant to do it because I was actually pretty good at COD and it was hard not seeing yourself at the top of the leaderboard very often anymore. I'm glad I did though and now just two, 2 hour breaks and two 1 1/2 hour classes to go until I get to play.

I'm not sure which to get either. I love the faster pace of CoD but love the true class based system of BF. I don't particularly care about the vehicles but being a medic and reviving the dead is my true calling in BF though I did have some luck snipping in BC2.

Im a sniper by association since i love semi auto rifles but once i unlock the M14 maybe ill explore other classes.

doesn't have bullet drop

So does this mean you also have to actually lead your targets in BF? This would be great... much more realistic! It always felt funny aiming right at a running person 300 yards away in COD.

im playing the game now via origin even though i live in eu ... there is a simply trick by changing the proxy in the IE and voila... ur game works perfectly

How do i do that? :)

not sure if the mods will allow to post this here or via pm but u have to set or IE as default browser and enter a certain proxy and port adress and then run origin, once origin is running, run bf3 and it will verify the release date check up and ur done. remove the proxy again and restart origin and there u go

proxy 162.88.40.109
port 8080

Hey can anyone tell me if there is a language filter for the multiplayer portion on 360 or ps3?

Not just lead your target, but also compensate for the bullet dropping over distance.

Battlefield 3 will be my first Battlefield game. Coming from Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2, the BF3 Beta was a different and fun experience. I am also migrating from console to PC with BF3 and that has been a big adjustment. Aiming with a mouse has not much of a problem. On the other hand, moving my character with a keyboard has taken some getting used to. It is going to take me some time to remember which button is kneel and which is prone and then press the right button when I want to do either. I also do not enjoy driving any of the vehicles with a keyboard, the experience is terrible compared to using a Dual Shock.

PS3 European Version:

I'm after 2 rounds (plus 240 MB patch and quick install session) and what can I say, minus the lag (not many EU servers open at the moment and hard to find open space on those that are available) , the game is absolutely great.

1st round, Teheran Highway, it was tank whoring extraordinaire by myself that gave me MVP (1st BF3 trophy alongside) with over 40 kills. Very nice map, good for adjusting your brightness settings, didn't see any bottleneck points, killing with guns is as entertaining as it is with tanks.

2nd round, Caspian Border, Huge map , A10 is very fast , had some problems with steering and it finished with nice kamikaze dive into enemies base that game me 97 point assist bonus and nice suicide note. Overall finished 2nd and my team won the round. I already see many great camping points for bloody snipers but it ain't easy to kill anyone (adjusted HP/damage from beta, as well as enhanced graphics, much better sound and very nice server browser feature).

After that the server begin to lag badly so I decided to quit and log onto battlelog to see how it looks. :)

Summary 1: If you liked BFBC2 , you'll love BF3.

Summary 2:
;)

EDIT: anyone knows is it possible to change view from FPP to TPP while being in vechicle??

Buy yourself an old wired 360 controller of ebay, and just plug it into your pc and set it beside you. When you get in a vehicle use the controller, then lay it down and go back to mouse. Best of both worlds.
