Yeah, most of the guys that switch from CoD to BF immediately play the game like CoD. Which is a shame, because it's annoying and relatively ineffective on most game types.

I have yet to get the game. There is an unknown release date for it here in Japan. So I have to wait for my parents back in the states to ship it over here:(

That's weird, I didn't have any trouble at all with my mic in Coop. Is it only multiplayer that this happens in? And yes I have a PS3.

So does this mean you also have to actually lead your targets in BF? This would be great... much more realistic! It always felt funny aiming right at a running person 300 yards away in COD.

No there isn't that I've seen. Lot of swearing in it so if it bothers you this isn't the game.

Need 7 points to unlock flares for the jets. Been having a hard time dogfighting, but it's only day 1. 👍

God I know I'm 40 points short... I want those heat seekers really bad.
 
I wasn't able to play at all yesterday. I've been asked to stay late all week and work Saturdays also now. :(

Hopefully I can at least play a little before the weekend. Add me on PS3 anyone? I always PTFO!
 
Any news on the PC version's performance compared to the BETA? Was planning to get this for pc but the BETA ran worse than I had expected. And I just cannot play shooters on a console.

The Beta played great for me. The full version though is playing even better. What's your PCs specs? People are running it that didn't think they would be able to. On my friends PC it's running smoother with higher FPS then COD black ops does.

There is a stutter problem though with the graphics. There are 2 fixes for it. For Intel users turn of Hyper threading, and for ATi guys you have to do something also, but I don't remember what it is.
 
I have a question. What purpose do the jets serve? They really are a complete non factor in the game. Is there a way to take checkpoints with them or something that I don't know about?

ive dodged several stingers in beta. without flares.

its the javelin you should watch out for.
(assuming it works like in real life)
flares wont help with that ;)

I have played a good 10 hours in the Beta and now the full version, and have not once, been killed by a jet, unless I am flying a jet. They should add some sort of air objective to the game or something. Maybe some sort of king of the sky thing, where the first one to shoot down another plane gets to account for a control point, and then when he gets shot down, the other plane gets it or something.

They are cool and all, but they just feel kind of forced into the game, with no real impact on the battlefield.

Maybe when I get into some clan batttles with organized payers it will be different.
 
Well you are just a dot for them and their focus is choppers-houses-tanks-ACP´s and JEEP´s :)

Take a look at this and then tell me Jets have no impact ;)


Unguided ones, good for buildings etc.

not sure if the mods will allow to post this here or via pm but u have to set or IE as default browser and enter a certain proxy and port adress and then run origin, once origin is running, run bf3 and it will verify the release date check up and ur done. remove the proxy again and restart origin and there u go

The primary objective of the jets is to maintain air superiority at all times. If they do their jobs correctly, the opposing forces choppers should be kept out of the sky as the choppers are the real threat to ground targets.

Yeah as others said I think it's more of anti helicopters and once you get bombs and heat seekers they will become much more effective.
 
So i hopped in a huey on davamond? Peak its loads easier to fly than the apache. I hope the cobra is like this

I need to get some of those rockets. That gave me a whole new perspective on the jets.

Intel Core i3 2.23Ghz / 4Gb RAM / Radeon HD5730 1 Gb video card.

I found that setting the graphic settings to low didn't improve my framerate by that much in the BETA compared to what it was set when I first got it going.
