Lovin this game.Gets real hectic fast at times.

Question though in the server browser thing. There is the 'normal', 'hardcore', then 'infantry'. What exactly is 'infantry'? as an option.

No vehicles.

Oh I see, thanks man.

Any of you guys play with the AN-94? I remember I loved it in BC2 but no so much here :\

It feels really 'heavy' to use. The recoil is pretty bad but otherwise it doesn't seem too bad to use

A question:

I openend my copy of BF3: LE yesterday, but there is no game booklet inside - you know, the kind that explains a bit about the game, button configs etc. Is there supposed to be one?

Other then that, Campaign is a letdown. Thinking of skipping it altogether and just getting on with multiplayer.

Should come with one. Now days they're really small as they figure most people understand button layout and such and just put the manuals online. Mine came with about a 6-8 page booklet and my online passcode.

I thought this when I first opened the case, but they've actually cleverly put it into the game menu instead. Just go to Extras > Manual.

Campaign mode was a load of scripted sequences to show off how awesome the graphics and sounds are, forcing you to follow a pre determined path as if it were an interactive movie. It was good, but I would never play through it again, much like I never watch movies more than once. Compared to BC2 that allowed strategic decisions and could be played through slightly different each time, I played that through until I had unlocked everything, but then there is nothing to unlock in BF3 single player so there is no reason to play it through again in that respect either. Disapointing really, even though I did actually enjoy it, it is far from being a memorable game. Not had a game that has really impressed me in this respect since Crysis + Warhead.

The Portuguese edition (at least limites edition) doesnt come along with paper manual... It just as been said here, in game go to extras then manual and its all there. My limites edition just had the extra code to get a weapon and some dog-tags extra and the mass effect 3 beta test or something like that lol ahhh almost forgot that paper that comes along with almost every game advertising about epilepsy caution :)

PS: online pass code come along too in the same paper as the weapon

Same as my copy Mike.
Really bugs me that this is done, sure the manual is in game. But what if I want to read it elsewhere. :grumpy:

Cheers Shaun.

I can't seem to connect to a game. There's no error code but just continues to say joining game.

I assume the standard edition copies come with the online pass code right? Thinking about purchasing a copy for Xbox so I have it on PS3 and Xbox :)

I know, it happens all the time now with a lot of games.
As someone new to this franchise I would like to read the manual at my own pace in the place of my choice.

Cheers Shaun.

Yes the standard edition comes with a copy of the online pass code the only difference between standard and limited editions is the fact with standard doesn't get Back to Karkand for free it costs $15 when it comes out. The online pass code is for people who buy used copies so that EA makes money off of used sales as well.

The toilet comes to mind... ;)

Ok, just had my first MP session and my 2c:

1) What the heck is up with starting weapons? The AK47 is hopeless coming up against level 30 weapons that now are everywhere; a frustrating choice as the opening choice for Engineer. Also, why on some missions was I able to start with some sort of M1, yet others, I get the AK?

2) Maps are ridiculously good and bad. Good in that they are massive and varied, bad in that I am really not a huge fan of urban combat - hence why I loved BC2.

3) There is little incentive to 'mark' enemy for your squad now - they only stay highlighted for like 2 seconds. It's a huge pain as from BC2, the first thing I do in a conflict situation is mark, fire - so if I miss, someone else collects them. Now there is no point and my muscle memory is kicking my hind.

All in all, underwhelmed so hopefully it grows on me.

That's what I was thinking. Pretty smart of EA really to make you actually buy a legitimate copy of the game to play online.

It's US vs Russia. The base weapons are different for both.

Yea, just reading that on BF3blog :D

I think I need to ditch Engineer and experiment with some other classes tomorrow. I didn't have much fun tonight.

As engineer when you play on the US side the M4A1 is available for you to use. On the Russian, the AK-74u. Theyre are rifles for use of the engi class regardless of faction that you can unlock the more you score points as an engineer. The first i believe will be the Scar-H.

hmmm makes sense :) didnt think about that 👍

EOD bot is fun... LoL... Spent a round on Operation Firestorm only driving my EOD bot around and repairing tanks... Although I think it would work better in Rush mode since you'd be able to arm and disarm Mcom stations... Also the grenade launcher in Assault class is epic! Got quite a few kills with it last night when I unlocked it. 👍 Great fun :D

PS. Can you get kills with an EOD bot as well? I know you can harm enemy tanks, but can you kill soldiers too?

Quite the contrary, "marking/spotting" disappears from your HUD/view if someone gets behind cover but it stays on the minimap, so it is very helpful for your teammates.

Oh yes you can :)

BTW Co-op missions are very well done! Shame there are only 6 of them.

The moment in "Hit'n'Run" when you're behind the wheel of Range Rover , RPG flies just in front of your windshield and French hip-hop starts blasting through cars soundsytem is just great! :)
