So they just made it even harder to shoot down helicopters. Thats great. Why even bother trying to shoot the things if its going to take more than one missile. The damn things already have flares why do they need to make it harder on me?

In the patch notes they said the decreased the damage done by stinger missiles on helicopters.

I do notice however that all of the DLC weapons are available for viewing under the my soldier/customize screen.

I have also unlocked the G3A3 somehow. It was still locked the last time I played. They must have tweaked the amount needed to unlock co-op weapons.

I noticed that too. :/
Makes the helicopters too noob-friendly if you ask me.
If you have a second engineer (or two) in the chopper repairing, it's pretty much invincible now.
Perhaps this will encourage some more helicopter vs. helicopter battles.

Relatively unrelated question: how do you use the jets effectively?
I mean, if there's no other air craft in the air, they don't have much of a point, do they?

I run rocket pods on mine to do damage to tanks and other ground units as well, I make it my mission to not just fly around taking down jets unless until I have to in order to maintain air superiority. I think the main cannon will damage tanks also, but the rockets are certainly a good way to put down fire on the ground and actually be useful unlike most jet pilots who spend all game fighting other jets.

Sucks, but I bet there are enough noobs around to abandon ship as soon as you get a missile lock :D.

But don't Limited Edition/Pre-Order holders get it 1 week early?

:D Roll on 7 December!

PS3 exclusive DLC for an FPS? Am I dreaming?

AAAAAHHHHHHHH! YESSSSSS!

No no no.

Nothing is ps3 exclusive its only time. Ps3 gets ALL DLC including Back to Karkand 1 week before Xbox and PC. Limited Edition only means you get Back to Karkand for free when it releases but has absolutely nothing to do with when it releases for you to play. Ps3 Back to Karkand for limited and regular editions releases on December 7th and December 14th for Xbox and PC.

Is it just me, or does it seem a lot easier to level up compared to Bad Company 2. I'm level 26 on Bad Company 2, and almost have 40 hours of play. Level 22 on Battlefield 3 with 19 hours.

Did anyone here get the Battlefield 1943 as EA anounced? Man, it's really cool! Anyway, add me if you want guys --> leonardo887

I downlaoded 1943 when it first became available on ps3. That was a great game! I took Alot of sick days to play.

Same here... Was fun for while, but don't think I could play it now with BF3 out... :p Air Superiority was a lot of fun too 👍

I tried it yesterday and didn't enjoy it much, at the time the demo was fun enough but I couldn't agree more that with BF3 around 1943 just doesn't stack up.

👍 I prioritise taking jets down first as they're the biggest threat then switch to rocketing tanks. I've just unlocked guided missiles so I'm gonna try them out later.

I need some people to play with on PC! Any takers? :)

I will play with you on PC. The only person I have been playing with consistently is ROAD_DOGG33J.

Origin ID: BrettMoran23

You might also look at the Battlefield 3 PC Origin Users (EA): Share your Nick thread and see if you can find a few more people from there.

GTPlanet also has a platoon if you were wondering. Speaking of which, I need to send friend requests to a few of the other people on the platoon.

If you got a PS3 I'll play, I wanted to go back for the Tour of Duty 2 trophy.

Yep, it is heaps easier to level up in BF3. I am Level 26 in BC2 (where I was pretty good) after a lot of hours and level 8 here (where I am pretty bad) after 12.

I felt that me and another player were killing each other simaltaneously after the bullets continue traveling after death.

But I can't shoot down helis or jets with a Stinger easily! They just keep dropping flares or the rocket won't them for some reason, or maybe I'm getting hitmarkers but it's just not telling me! :p

I doubt it. Only a week or so after launch I was already running into some chopper pros. I'd get a lock, they'd use flares and I'd wait until I got another lock but before their flares reloaded. I'd almost always get a hit but they would just land on the other side of the map like nothing had happened, repair the damned thing and take off again. Its almost impossible to take out a chopper at this rate. 👎

Somewhat of a trick, is once you lock on, fire one rocket. Then when they pop flares, lock on again and shoot the other. It might take a little longer, but it's worth the technique

You're wasting a rocket. Plus the flares disable your lock on. I simply get lock and wait for them to pop flares. After you can lock on again you have a second or two to fire the missile before they can use the flares again.

You may be wasting a missile but the other one will disable a jet so if you to have a jet you can finish it off with the main gun. Otherwise he'll bail eventually.
