I'm getting really fed up with online, it's literally impossible to play against people with high ranks. I have no guns that have optics and I can't hit anything with the iron sights at long range so I'm constantly getting picked off from miles away by people with better guns.

This is one thing I'll have to disagree with. I haven't had a problem with that at all. Unlocked guns aren't usually all that better and the red dot sight takes next to no kills to unlock with each gun if you don't like the iron sights.
 
I found the campaign very glitchy... One location where you are ambush from a bridge and you go Up to the bridge to clear it. I waited almost a minute for the enemy to spawn lol and the ai characters just sat there.
 
That's EA. BF2 and BFBC2 had the same issues during the first weeks. Give it time. Balancing and tweaks will be made and after that it will be even more awesome.
 
I've been playing Co-op all day. So far I've unlocked the MP412 magnum and the KH2002 assault rifle. Getting past the Fire from the sky mission was brutal. At least after hours of trying I'm now a pretty decent pilot. :lol:

very true, I can't wait till they iron out the problems. does the sniper sensor thing work in this game now? In bad company 2 it was junk.

hahaha, I've only tried the choppers and jets a few times. I'm not horrible but there is a ton of room for improvement lol
 
I haven't tried jets yet. The chopper is pretty twitchy though the jet must be insane. At least you can come to a stop in the chopper...

So true. It really is the GT5 of FPS. This game will evolve to last this gen. The next installment will surely be on new hardware where we will see pc+ standards. Meanwhile, enjoy the ride.

Speaking of jets, is there a glitch that you know of because people are in them right when they spawn. I was waiting for one and there was no one around and it spawned and someone was in it.

I think that is not a glitch, in BF2 that happened all the time. I guess that it is an effective method to keep people outside pointless fights for the plane.

It happened to me a couple of times, But I don't think is a glitch.

there is a option. like spawn at "A" ,spawn at "B", spawn at base or spawn in a chopper or jet.

it only shows up if the vehicle is available

Exactly that reason, be warned though those looking for the jets you need to get to work with them quick to unlock heatseekers or you'll be a sitting duck to more experienced pilots. I just bagged mine by filtering to emptier games on plane maps and tried to be a pain, focusing on choppers primarily. Now I have heatseekers for tomorrow so I can get to work on getting some air kills and work my way towards ground effect weapons.

For now they're still relatively pointless in most regards bar atmosphere, they don't pose a huge threat to ground troops, however once people start upgrading them I feel they'll begin to get more useful.

Yea if they dont fix this issue in a couple of days you are damn right EA has lost a customer for life.

That sucks. Hope you get a fix soon. I can't say I'm loving it as much as I thought/hoped I would be. Much more realistic than MW2 but as much fun? Jurys out. Having said that I play alone and don't have an ear piece mic.
As someone else said the game shakes the house when played through the home cinema amp ( and a 9' PJ screen helps with the immersive experience).
Can buttons be assigned to reflect MW controls? It's a pity these games don't come with an identical default setting as playing both would be sooo much easier. Plus how do you mute someone? Please?
 
I played all night just to get to rank 5. I was on some truly awful teams. So many one sided matches that may as well have been over from the start.

No. As soon as the spawn/kit selection screen pops up, about 5 seconds after it first comes up jets pop up. It's just to prevent people from blowing up jets/fighting over them all game and just being worthless. That and jets spawn in remote locations.

I have worked my way all the way to Guided missiles and within 1k of my next unlock, and at this point, heat seekers work wonders on noobs, but if someone has flares and knows how to use them correctly, i.e. deploy them at the right time/during the right beeping, it's impossible to shoot them down other than the main gun. It's almost just as easy to use the gun to shoot them down if they're mashing the flare button back to back
 
I'm about 1000 points off rocket pods for the jets. I'm finally able to shoot down people with the main gun and not just heat seekers.
 
I'm having glitches with the aiming reticule. Every time I throw a grenade the reticule has a dot in it like the grenades dot combined with the crosshairs. Also I had an issue with the shotguns crosshairs where they disappeared completely. Happened quite a bit. Oh also had a glitch a few times where the shotgun wasn't reloading and the guy kept putting an unlimited amount of shells in it.
 
Question guys, as a total noob at FPS what's the best way for me to get into MP on the PS3?
By noob I mean it I've never played a FPS shooter online, matter of fact I've only played one of the COD series (can't remember which one) and didn't think much of it. I had heard of the hype surrounding BF3 and thought I'd give it a go. I'm a few missions into the SP and am loving it. But by the sounds of it it has nothing on the MP.

Another noob question are the co-op missions online or do I just team up with a mate over the net and play a different set of missions?

As a couple of you guys have mentioned the sounds through a decent home cinema setup are incredible, window shaking stuff. 👍

I think I might try to use rocket pods more. I have guided missiles and it's great, when the missile lands or the crap actually locks on, which doesn't usually and I have to make 3 passes just for it to hit or until I commit suicide. The only problem with rocket pods is you better hope the tank or whatever else is spotted or you'll never get your target

The only think I can tell you is to jump right in. You're playing SP so you know how the game is. It's a lot different than BC2 from the feel but there is a lot of other factors in MP. Just jump in a game and just play. Do NOT snipe though, there is no excuse for sitting prone on a rock all game and saying 'I'm just getting a feel for the maps.' Get on the battlefield and get to know your way around while helping your team. My suggestion would be to play Rush or Conquest to really understand.

You pretty much answered co op though, you play online with 1 friend, or a public teammate and play 6 other missions.

If you have a home system, I URGE YOU to set your audio to WAR TAPES it will COMPLETELY change the way the game sounds

As for the War Tapes bit I'm not sure what I set it to, in the option I picked it did mention something about home cinema. I'll have another look when the kids are in bed.

Edit just checked and in the audio options/your speaker setup I have it set to Home Cinema. Are you saying the War Tapes option will sound better? If so it must be impressive. I can't test it loud until tomorrow.

Lol not sure you want to do it while they're sleeping, you'll probably wake them up screaming when they think they're in a war zone

Is there a gamemode where there can only be so many of a certain kind of player etc? each team can only have 1 or 2 snipers and 1 or 2 RPG'ers? Set unit play would be fun.
Are the maps bigger than Black Ops'? (stupid question yes? lol)
