Played about with the .44 Magnum, but if I run in to a building with my Recon class and come face to face, I stand much more of a chance with the 93R than try and fire off two successful shots with the Magnum.

I use the G18C Supressor for all classes. Great rate of fire and not much recoil so you can get in a headshot pretty easily. I keep on meaning to try the REX but forget. The .44 is too wild for me, although the scope may make the first shot more lethal.

All this talk of gazzzillion meter sniper skills. It's really just talk for "I'm playing for my own score", right? nothing wrong with that, as long as its on the table.

It reminds me why if I see a squaddie with a sniper rifle, I'll most likely be switching squads in CQ. If I wanted to spawn 200m from the first Flag, up on a hill, with wide open plains to the nearest cover, I'd spawn at deploy and get a jeep. The whole "but I'm sitting up this here tower spotting for you" argument doesn't hold much water when a MAV does an infinitely better job. Grab a shotgun or a PDW and capture flags I say.

Rush, yea ok, you can cover an MCOM I guess.

:lol: I'm terrible @ recon but I love it, now that I have the .44 magnum, it's a blast, obviously you can only play hardcore with it but it's hilarious. I just run run around not quite, but almost COD style with 44 magnum and M40, hip firing with the rifle or just one shotting with the 44, like clint eastwood on a sugar rush

That's totally cool. You're running around PTO; you just choose to use a rifle as your means of defence. You aren't sitting up top a dusty hill somewhere, warming a thermos and playing Angry Birds, waiting for some guy to tie his shoelaces out in the open 8 miles away.

PTO?, I'm not exactly one who knows abbreviations very well, anyway I do agree, but there is a point when it's beneficial, personally I think 300m is max distance, give or take 50m, that you can be from the general cluster of people.

Also I remembered how much I love the 240B @ metro, I would find clusters and just mow 'em all down

Havent been on GTP for a couple days... I'll make some space and add you on PSN :) My list is full, but I actually only play with about 15% of my list.. :lol: Been meaning to do some spring cleaning on my PSN list.

I have a guy on my team sometimes who goes and hides up a mountain somewhere and gets 1 or 2 kills in a match.
Sometimes he gets three.

He's my boss in real life though, so I can only take the 🤬 out of him so much for it......

It's funnier when we're on opposing sides....

Last night he came running at me on the airfield corner at Wake, and I had to take two moving shots at his moving target with my M98B, and he went down.
Bit later, he's spotted me coming straight for his building out the back at Karkand (I didn't even know he was in it, I was just skirting the map) and he runs out, drops prone and is about to fire.
I have seen the guy, switched to .44, aimed roughly for his head and KAPAAARRRRRRAAAAWLLL (no silencer) he's dead in one glorious shot.
I am just on my way to work right now to gloat at him......

Just finish this Tea first....... ahhhh.......

Weird, after installing the 1.03 update on ps3 bf3 crashed on me 3 times in a row on the initial load up screen, before the dice intro. Worked the 4th time :/
 
What? Noooooooooo!! If they patched that at least patch the MAV-killing as well :grumpy:
 
DICE's comms on the next patch has been...patchy. 1.03 was VOIP and the next one supposedly due this week was detailed by me a page or two back (nerfing suppressors, foregrips on each gun to some extent, adding horns to vehicles, no more MAV riding).
 
^ I can live with most of the stuff in the new upcoming update... But horns on jeeps??? Srsly? What good is that going to do and what will that add to the game? Its only going to make roadkilling harder.... HONK HONK.... "Hey i'm going to run you over!! Oh wait.. you moved..." :p

On a side note: Has the VOIP really been fixed? I wasnt able to go online yesterday...

I got a voucher for my birthday and I've got two options. More cd's or mic for the PS3. If it has been fixed and worthwhile I would like to get a mic.
Has anyone got opinions on this?

^ I got the official Sony 7.1 virtual surround headphones with mic not to long ago... And it's absolutely awesome! Great immersion and I don't bother my GF with booms and explosions... :lol: It's not that cheap though, so I'm not sure how much youre able to spend. I had the official Sony bluetooth mic before that, which also worked great.
 
I can confirm the VOIP has been fixed. I was in a squad of 4 yesterday and 3 people had headsets and the sound was crystal clear.

EDIT: just went to battle log, and apparently the servers are down from 10-11am GMT. Bugger.
 
^ There's server maintenance today between 2:00 am and 3:30 am PST according to Battlelog... If Im not mistaken that is now.

Thanks for the suggestion, it's not a money thing but I'm just after a mic (probably the Sony one). My system is quite, well sufficient for the job at hand ;) and to be honest I'd prefer that than headphones.

I just finished an average session. I must have just gotten off as the maintenance kicked up.

Completely lost my mojo at Canals. I used to be good there, now whatever I do ends badly. Jump in a tank, get owned by a chopper. Jump in a Vodnik, run into 3 Engis. Try flank a flag, get knifed from behind. Run around the containers, run into APV.

I've had a total of 1 good game at Canals that I can recall. One. I don't especially dislike the map but for whatever reason I always get my ass handed to me.

I need to SS the Support class, closing in on it I think.

I'm missing out on two ribbons at the moment that stop me from getting the Decorated trophy. M-Com defender, which is weird 'cause I play a lot of Rush, and the Stationary Emplacement ribbon.

I want the L85A2 but can't be bothered with SQDM :yuck:

I have a question. Does anyone know the length of time it takes between Rush areas for the next area to become 'active'? I keep trying to run into the Out of Bounds area so I can get a jump start on the Defenders but end up getting timed out most of the time. How long is the delay? 15 seconds or something? Is there an exact amount from the moment the 2nd M-Com is blown up to the 3rd and 4th appearing?
