You could use the Saiga with FRAG; smaller clip, but same effect ;). I usually kill myself once a round with the USAS, fragging off the walls in close quarters. Boss. :D

If I can't get USAS, then I'm getting none LOL.

Is that on hardcore!?

Had a USAS a while now.

Never usas'd it.

If you can't beat em, join em hide and snipe.....

:irked:👍

Also a viable tactic, 'cept I really suck at sniping from a distance. :p Im better at being in your face with a portable, fully auto grenade thrower.

yeah my 10yo loves the usas, but has lately had a blast playing on my second account (for GT5) which is new. So, he is a lvl 4 or 5, but I'm sure his opponents quickly realize he is not what lvl indicates. So, without the usas, he started using the DAO, and says he loves it just as much, even with the slow re-loading. Once he got the frag shells, it was like I couldn't tell the diff from the mayhem that always ensues. Odd thing for a dad to enjoy watching his kido do (being I don't want to encourage it TOO much), but man it's a blast watching him play. My buddy came over Friday night and is good, but mostly due to time spent playing. I've told him mys on was good and they play together sometimes, but didn't believe how good until he watched him play a few rounds. I was like "I told you". Said it was cool to watch cuz it gives him a different perspective. When we compare friend stats, my boy is 3rd on my list, but his hours playing are almost half. lol Something about them reflexes. Scary, he sits there playing with the turtle beach's on, humming some tune tune while tearing it up. Reminds me of something like Apocalypse Now. Alternatively, he can't drive a car around the track to save his life..... I can't quite get him to understand the concept of "brakes and gas have a range of input....not just mash down or lift up.” ;-)

Left analog broke during a match, probably applied too much thumb pressure when trying to sprint :irked:

So I guess I won't be able to play until it is fixed/get a new one if it cannot be fixed :(

That Metro match was pretty hardcore... to bad we lost in the end... we had a good chance of taking that one... Dragonistic and I were on 6,000+ pts..

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/#!/bf3/battlereport/show/32881147/4/173714521/

Also sorry to Dragonistic and Theewar for leaving so suddenly... My internet modem decided to go AWOL and booted me from the internet and the match. I couldnt get it to reboot anymore, so I called it a night... It was up and running the next day so mustve been a problem on my providers end.

That was a good match yeah, we were definitely fighting against the odds and it turned out to be a really good battle instead of just spawn killing like most Metro games . I also shamelessly stole your USAS to revive you and blasted a tonne of fools, the only time I'll use one is if I've picked it up. I've never had one on Metro before, it was total destruction.

Do you guys ever do any platoon battles?
That's something I'd really like to try out, going super hardcore.

And I think my favorite game mode is now Squad Rush ...when I have my mic. It's definitely the most tactical. But without mics, you're screwed.

You let your 10 year old play this game?

I broke an analog stick before, you can quite easily change it for one from a PS2 controller if you have one. But make sure you change both the sticks because they aren't exactly the same.

7) Unless you are playing Rush (not recommended), don’t play Recon (Sureboss :D). You wont score much, you wont unlock assault rifles or carbines, you will get knifed a lot and in conquest, you wont be PTO.

At Seine I regularly (well, now I do) go 20-1 or 2 with the M40 and a short scope since Drag recommended it, whilst covering 2-3 objectives, of course you don't often get points for it, because the points system on objectives from distance kills doesn't work. Of course there are some maps where you shouldn't be Recon, but if he's not unlocked things for vehicles, then jumping in a tank/chopper will be detrimental to his team.

Merely a suggestion to help him get used to the pace of the game, etc.

He doesn't have access to the M40, so unless that is repeatable with the MOD, it's not adviseable. He wont learn maps by camping and he wont unlock things by not venturing out in tanks and choppers. ;)

Got the MG36 yesterday - me likes.

If there is one thing I love in this game the most it would be defending the staircase in the backstreets on Seine Crossing. Not the one in the open, the one in the warehouse. Get a guy or two to help you and defend that area. Brutal firefights when enemies are going there.

Good few games last night Mike, That game at Canals when I joined late, were you in the tank the whole game? Im pretty sure you were top and I was third or something, got a few maintenance ribbons and a few kills as gunner. When we were finally taken down by A there were three dudes behind us all shooting us with RPGS, I got two of them who were behind the truck, but the third one who was up by the train, got off his Jav just before I shot him and I was killed, but then on the spawn screen I noticed you had already bailed! A captain his supposed to go down with his ship

Then after that we went on a massive winning streak for about 7 games, but I think you had left before then. I jumped in the tank in the next game on Seine with one of our squadmates, I think it was that Usky dude, he proceeded to drive over the bridge, into the first tank blocker, reverse, drive past it, and promptly into the next tank blocker. The rest of the team had already captured A and B by the time we got near them. Then he bailed when things started to get heavy by B and left me to defend the tank by myself, after he died. I fought them back and then he spawned on me and then drove the tank over some AT mines that were on the road by D, even though I had spotted them. Moments like this I wish I had a mic so I could yell out MINES!!

Anyway, after you left, me and my buddy Davelander continued the ownage, only losing four games out of 15, and getting ace squad in probably more than half of them even though it was only the two of us...

Almost! The Little Birg pilots were pretty average, but they had some engi's hanging off the sides so where always about. I was glad to see you pop into the gunner seat as that usky guy bailed on me too at the start.

Hollidog

:D
I will bail when tank health is under 10% and I'm taking fire from unseen quarters, because by then it's too late to save it but will never bail before that to prevent them getting the tank :D. I don't think I lasted too long after that, some guy with a FAMAS got me before I returned the favour.

It was a hot streak for us for sure - we mauled them at Kharg too (again I only used two tanks the entire round). It was absolutely brilliant at the start. We took C, then I waited to ambush a tank coming from A when he and another one turned off and started taking B. So I came up behind them, with them side by side facing away! I saw you jumped out and put some RPGs in the one whilst I took car of the other . Shooting fish in a barrel.

Had a great round at Firestorm too in a tank where I took out 4 of theirs. One memorable encounter saw them get the first shot in, but by rotating my tank to present the front profile only, I managed to kill them as I was laying shots into their flank - which has more damage per shell.

I recall the tank driver being a noob at Seine. It's never a good sign when they crash into the walls getting over that bridge. You had a few really good rounds (25+ kills). What weapons were you using?

Great to see you are enjoying the tanks Mike 👍.
As for bailing from a tank I try to leave it to the very last minute. Nothing worse than seeing an enemy engi repairing your tank in the killcam, it happened to me a while ago and I vowed it wouldn't happen again.
Most of the time now I die with the tank.
With a bit of luck we can get in some tank action this weekend.

Cheers Shaun.

I love me my tanks.

I had a great game of Rush on Caspian Border recently. From the defender spawn I rolled my tank out in front of the B M-com and was able to see the attackers tanks rolling across the field towards us. Disabled a couple with a guided shell and pounded them away with normal tank rounds. For some reason they kept trying this route. I ended up destroying 6 of their tanks before they finally got me out of there.

Then I went tank hunting with my RPG.

Muawhahaha.

I still recommend a semi-auto rifle over the M40 for most situations outside of real long shots, Seine Crossing screams M39 (unlocked from co-op) everytime the map comes up I'm tempted to slap on Recon. The reason I recommend ACOG is so you have no lense flare primarily but it also makes for a more versatile weapon. Add a bipod to that and you can fire so fast that even though it's 3 shots at distance you can put those 3 in quick enough before they even react.

Got the MG36 yesterday - me likes does not likes.

Ran with it for 2 hours tonight and what a difference a day makes. No stopping power. Pity.

Me and that other guy where having a royal time of it gundalini, and then you join and we get wiped off the map at GB  We got it back though at Seine and Metro though. Had to laugh at you trying to hunt down that monkey guy

I use the MG36 as my more campish Support set up, when I'm just gonna post up with a bipod and go crazy. It does enough damage, is very controllable to me and importantly has a less frustrating reload time. That being said now I have the M27 for both sides, I don't think I'll ever use Support with another gun because it's so useful in almost any situation, particularly excels compared to other support weapons when playing more aggressively.

The bipodding on the MG takes ages too, whereas I noticed the M27 is super quick.

I went back to the M27 (as I was using the RPK) and it is a solid balance of support weapon and assault. I still find the RPK more lethal over distance, but at the cost of losing more close quarter battles due to its average ROF. I'll probably switch between those two now and leave it, as post patch, with more recoil, the belt fed LMGs will be more of a handful.

My point was/is that you can be a more effective Recon by providing support fire from medium range with the 4x scopes rather than holed up on a building with a ballistic 12x (ala VEXD ;)). Recon doesn't have to be a low scoring class sat miles away from objectives with the sniper rifles. For the first couple of hours of acclimatising yourself, why not?

VEXD introduced me to the M98B last night, nice stopping power, new headshot too, at about 315m. Really liking the L85 at the moment as my Assault rifle, better all rounder than the G3 I used before it and maybe even more so than the FAMAS.

Used the USAS last night for the first time, as a counter at a silly game of Metro. Held all 3 objectives, about 100 tickets up and then the rest of team went insane (about 3-4 people trying to take each objective, rather than taking one as a team and pushing through) and we got pushed to base. Try the MK3 thing now I've unlocked that.

You beat me to it. videogamer.com is reporting they announced it official at GDC yesterday. 3 packs incoming as ibo said. One in June is the only one dated and will be CQC with destructible, vertical maps. The article mentions an office building with cubicles. Also 10 new weapons and trophy/achievements as well.

The 2nd pack will be vehicle centered and is likely a fall time release and then the 3rd is a winter time release and being completely kept secret.

In other big news server rental is also being made available to consoles! No mention of how or when but that would be fantastic. Finally some 24/7 servers on consoles which would be awesome!

Yup I made that mistake really bad once. We were getting spawn killed by a tank. So our tank spawned and I got into it to try and kill our tank (I am not very good in a tank but no one else grabbed it). Well they had an engineer repairing his while I hit it. I did not, so once my tank got to about 15% I bailed. Then got destroyed and sure enough the guy that killed me repaired the tank and then they spawn killed us with 2 tanks. I dont think that much foul language has come ot of me in a while. :ouch: Very very frustrating especially since I was the only engineer. Sometimes being the only engineer really kills a team. Thats the worst I have ever got my butt kicked by a stupid spawn killing tank. But also a learning experience. "go down with the ship instead of giving the ship up to the enemy"

^ Oh yeah CQC sounds interesting! :) I like the sound of all of that DLC and will definitely be picking all of them up! 👍 Thanks for the link.

Speaking of tanks, I'm really starting to like the combo of the main gun and canister shell. By the time I can fire the gun, switch and fire the shell, the main gun's already reloaded. So I can keep "fire-switch-fire"ing untill the other tank/infantry is dead. I love it.
