Anyone else notice a glitch where dead players aren't falling to the ground-just freezing whilst stood up? Seems to be happening quite a bit to me. It's weird when you die and annoying when enemy players look like they're still in play for the few seconds before they disappear.

Yeah, I get this a lot too. And yes, I have emptied an entire mag on a dead guy before XD

On the plus side though, I have only been disconnected once in the last few weeks. Did have some very bad lag the other day though. Was playing CQ on the UKG server and it was unplayable. I was then disconnected along with everyone else in the server.

It's been over a month since I've last played BF3, but I do remember this happening to me also. Wasted ammo on standing dead players hahaha!

I squadded up with a few friends and I laughed so much at times I almost cried
First game we were playing on Kharg Island CQ and I decided to try the death rail. I succeeded as well :D

Then at Caspian Border we did a Javelin Squad. There was one part at the very start of the game where I made it onto the tower and one of the Engis missed it. He spotted an enemy heading from the Forest to the Hilltop and was literally less than 2m behind him, ready to steal his tags.

I snipe him from the tower and according to my squadmate, he just "simply dropped to the ground."

Ok games this morning, including my first rush game in about 6 months with Caz when the custom server rotated unexpectedly. Didn't do too badly, mainly as it was a small server and I managed to Jav two jeeps driving down the hill to Damavand MCOMM set 1 .

I think my new project gun will be the M249. Tamed the PKP recoil, time for a new challenge :D

Edit: just to indicate how terrible the last few sessions have been for me, my skill has dropped by 100 in 24 hours

Ouch. Yeah that rush round really thru me off. Saw you in a nice perch so I spawned as noob ammo Claymore Guy. Actually worked well.
Were you getting alot of spot assists over the first mcoms? Someone was lighting em up and I was mowing em down.

I hoped back on a little bit after I left you.
Game on firestorm. Trying to take c and get sniped from a Guy on the very tallest stack. See a jet waiting for me to spawn into and figure, ehh kamikaze the Guy. So as I'm setting my approach I take out a heli but it throws me off a bit high and to his right. Thinking I wont have a clean second chance and the instance b slap with a jet factor would be gone I dip my left wing down. Just in time to road kill the Guy and fly away unscathed.
Fly around for a minute missing everything I aim at, as per my usual jet skills, and notice home back there. Line him up again but this time use the machine guns and kill him+spawn beacon!
Then I died.

It was all a bit of a mess really. First I mistakenly spawned into the chopper and then I realised it was a gazillion miles from deploy, so had to ride it where ever it was going. Thankfully, you were piloting, not some useless noob. 👍

Then I figured I best jump out over the COMMs as nobody else we were carrying was, so I did and ended up parachuting into the forbidden zone and only managed to scramble out of there with 1 second left till suicide....and happened upon that nice little perch. I was spotting like a mad man up there as nobody coming down the hill knew I was there . That's also where I picked up my two jeep/ jav double kills :D

Eventually someone coined and came back as a sniper and took care of me. Then I started running around like a headless chicken as my Rush tactics are rusty. Got some claymore defend kills though :D

At least BFBLOG has a sense of humour about things :

Operation Metro is one of the most hated and polarizing maps in Battlefield 3, mainly because it’s a very tight infantry map where most of the exploits are tested and abused, but also because it’s the one map where players can rake in lots of points without playing the objectives. We made this Battlefield 3 Operation Metro trailer to show just what this map is all about. Enjoy!

This was one of the most enjoyable games I've played on BF since I began playing. Both sides played the objective, there was no spawn trapping going on and every flag was won or lost by a gun fight of at least 5 people each side.None of the flags could you just run up and cap without any resistance. The only complaint I would have was the lack of AMMO packs given when requested.

huge thread... am i the only one that feels like they took an awesome PC game, and crammed it into a console version? i mean come on... so many moments of non battle going on because of the low player count, and huge maps.

PC hands down it's where it's at with it's 60fps... console... 30fps and limited amount of players... i don't know.. i feel it's a bit gimped.

You can actually get more FPS than that, but you'd have to buy components priced double that of the console. And to be fair, the 30FPS is very impressive considering everything that goes on at once.

I have come to the conclusion that BF3 is still my favorite mp game.

Played a lot of mp games the last year. Out of all the games between Halo Reach, COD, GOW3, Max Payne 3, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, and all the other mp games out there, I still get pulled back to BF3. I just like seeing all the jets, helicopters, tanks, vehicles, objectives, and wide open maps. My favorite map is Wake Island Conquest Assult with 5 objectives. After playing BF3 multiplayer I just find most other mp games get boring quick. Halo Reach is my 2nd choice. It also has bigger maps along with land and air vehicles. But I still enjoy BF3 a lot more. Anyone else still loving the BF3 multiplayer?

Just had a great game of Rush on Tehran Highway. I made it my mission to destroy the enemies' tanks. Got 6 of them! A couple times I started getting shot while planting the C4 and had to suicide taking the tank out with me otherwise I would have died in vain.

Best sequence, third set of Mcoms, at B, I got behind their tank and only had a couple C4 left so it only disabled it, the gunner jumped out to repair and I cut him down then threw down an ammo pack, waited to resupply C4, then blew the tank up. It didn't even try to get away. From there I ran up to the highway overhead walkway and crouched down resupplying my C4. The enemy tank came again and rolled right under the walkway so I jumped over the railing, onto the tank, laid out the C4 and blew the tank to smithereens then killed the guy who was trying to disarm the Mcom.

Ultimately we lost but it was a wild ride.

Still my favorite as well. I think the problem is that most of the "minor" multiplayer games don't have a big enough following. In other words; if it isn't COD of BF, there just aren't enough people that prefer the alternatives.

Just played COD MW3 at my friend's house and I'm glad I picked BF3. COD's fun but it gets boring very fast. It's a bit repetitive and I don't like the maps that much. In BF3 the maps are slightly bigger and the game modes (though there aren't a lot) are a lot more fun, especially rush and conquest.

^ I feel the exact same way with other shooters like COD. They get boring really fast. In fact, any game where I play just team deathmatch bores me quick. Conquest in BF3 is the only thing I play. It always keeps me entertained. Especially on the bigger maps. I dont care much for Metro at all. Since there are no vehicles its just run and gun shooting. Conquest helps that a little but I really just prefer games with vehicles. Helps break up the repetition of just shooting people. Insted I can set out mines or lock onto vehicles with rockets.

Rush can be quite fun. I played one game of Rush earlier this month where I scored two MCOM Attacker Ribbons with at least six MCOMs armed and MVP2 with only six kills. Before that game, I did not have a MCOM Attacker Ribbon; after that game, I had two. :D

I dont like rush at all. Tried I several times and its just not fun to me. Way way too many people camping in that mode.

I really like rush actually. It does require a different play style compared to conquest though. It's a very team-driven mode.

Rush is just a mixed bag, if you're on a worse team you can't easily sway the tide of battle where in Conquest on alot of maps you can keep your team in the match more easily by avoiding the density of the action and grabbing a far away flag. The linearity of Rush is both great for close games where it will be constant action and multiple tense moments as the tickets drain down as the attackers make their last push causing manic gun fights right by the MCOM (fun from either side). On the other hand when the teams are only slightly mismatched it's either a pushover or an impossible fight which is best dealt with by quitting.

I actually prefer rush to conquest, but I feel like I *have* to play rush with at least one other person I know because I will lose otherwise. (My conquest W/L is 2.26, while for rush it's 1.74).

And humbleness aside :sly:, as a result of that double XP weekend I am now in the top 6% for SPM.

This, I'd play it if there's 4 of us and some maps were avoided, like Bazaar, where the MCOMs are just terribly placed.

Another good night, 10 wins, 0 losses. 4 KDR and SPM of 600 odd. When you've got a team, the game is awesome.

Also, one oddity. Standing behind a tank repairing it, RPG goes in to the front of the tank and I'm sent about 300m backwards and get a bad luck kill.

Hit detection lulz!

Had a few good games of squad rush.
Was in a server with three guys and we were playing four guys from some clan.
Before I came in, I guess the clan guys (who owned the server) had messaged the guys on my team and told them to give each other 3 minutes to set up/prepare defenses/plan attacks at the beginning of each round (but not MCOM).
Everybody was using a mic and it was A LOT of fun. The attackers got the first MCOM almost every time but the defenders would usually win at the second MCOM.
It was SO awesome.

I think different maps are made for different game modes. For instance, Damavand and Métro are both Rush-type maps while Firestorm or Kharg are much better for Conquest. There are some maps where they're both really good for both Rush and CQ. Like Oman, Karkand or Caspian Border.

One awesome tactic for attackers on Caspian Rush is to get in the Humvee with a full squad, and don't drive to the Gas Station via the Checkpoint. Instead, wait at the Comms Tower until the first set of M-COMs are destroyed and then drive straight there. Even better, get everyone to equip suppressors and ditch the Humvee behind some rocks and head up on foot. Much stealthier :D

I prefer rush as well because im not a big fan of sitting in tanks the entire match.

That's why I drive around Buggies the whole game. So much fun not trying to get killed :D

I flip flop between the different Rush modes, and Conquest. Only time i ever play Deathmatch is if its a Squad Deathmatch. Only mode i hate is normal Deathmatch...

Campers on Rush dont bother me, technically thats what your supposed to do... guard the objective. No reason in running way out to kill an enemy and waste time trying to respawn, which can give the enemy time to set the bomb.
