Conquest Assult on Wake Island is actually my favorite setup. Finally found a good server for this a couole weeks ago. For those that dont know, the conquest assult seems to allow for more objectives. So on Wake Island, it has 5 instead of 3. You dont even have a chance for a breather in this game mode. Flags are constantly changing every minute. The server I saved seems to spawn the helicopters more often too. So I am constantly blowing up vehicles left and right the entire round. Is just so awesome! :)

The more I see of the Close Quarters DLC, the more I worry it's just a dressed up cluster**** - Metro on steroids - where only Shotguns and the highest ROF rifles will be of any use.

Maps like that could be fun every now and then if they're done right.
But you don't need any more than 2 of them.
They're probably trying to attract more CoD players.

So whose getting premium then?, I am getting it, and to be honest considering we will be making a saving over buying all the DLC seperate, aswell as all the extras, Its a no thinker for me. Im not a big fan of this type of service, but if gives me a saving on DLC i would have bought anyway plus extras im willing to signup this once. I know COD's Elite service offerred a saving on all the DLC, but as COD's DLC only consists of a few new maps and a couple of 3-10 minute missions i didnt really want it anyway.

For the few of you who dont know, It is thought it is going to be released on 4th June. So not this coming monday, The next.

I might buy it IF the price is reasonable, more than 50euros no!

I would imagine it will be a similar price to COD ELITE. Wich is 34.99 (Pounds). Wont be surprised if its a tad more, As Battlefields DLC does offer a lot more than COD's.

It can't be as much as COD Elite. With Elite you get map packs with it. With BF Premium you don't. I'm not sure if I'll get it.

Come on, we are talking about the big EA. Anything from them has to be very expensive so my bet would be 60euros.

What and Activison have a reputation for giving their customers value for money?

BF3 Premium is ment to rival ELITE (obviously), so why would they make it a lot more expensive.

I will most likely buy into it. I plan on buying all 3 announced dlc packs any way plus the hinted at fourth. With those four packs your probably looking at 15$ each.
I expect premium to be roughly 50$ as was elite.

I don't see any shooters on the horizon that will trump bf3 for me. Ill buy b.o2 and play the campaign and prob. 20 hours of multiplayer before I get bored like I have with all cod after world at war ( well 1943 made me realise I was bored with cod. Then bc2 came out and finalized that thought )

Played a few horid rounds last night. Only 3 highlights came from the same round.

Firestorm:
Early match we get dominated quick in the air. My attack pilot was in a good battle with their chopper but we lost. Spawned into the transport chopper and the pilot I had previously flown with came into the machine gun spot.
They had 2 tanks heading to c. I switched to 3rd person to
find where my gunner was shooting from. Circled around the 2 tanks giving him a nice stable place to rain fire from. Those 2 tanks didn't last long. Eventually we got downed but both survived.
We ran from the mountains to c. They had a tank capturing it. He spotted us and killed my teammate. I hid behind a destroyed tanker and he knew I was around. Just launching shells in my general direction. I could follow his turrent shadows so I knew when it was safe to peak. After about two minutes my opportunity arose. Hit him with a rocket and repair tooled the rest of the destroy. Got the cap. Right after that cap, there attack chopper. Ones searching for us nice and low. RPG the bastard for a double. It was a fantastic 5-7 minutes for me. Then it all fell apart again.

Yes thats my thought aswell, I would be buying all of the upcoming DLC so considering i would be making a saving and pocketing the little extras along the way it makes sense to me.

I also have the same experience with COD, though i'd say i play less of the multiplayer than you. I find it incredibly sterile and bland. Only saving grace is spec op's for me, I concede it isnt groundbreaking (killing wave after wave of AI bots but with a few friends and a few more beers it can be quite addictive. It's quite surprising that BF3 is reacting to things that COD are doing (Premium=Elite) when we all know that COD would benefit a whole lot more if it took some idea's from Battlefield.

I think different maps are made for different game modes. For instance, Damavand and Métro are both Rush-type maps while Firestorm or Kharg are much better for Conquest. There are some maps where they're both really good for both Rush and CQ. Like Oman, Karkand or Caspian Border.

One awesome tactic for attackers on Caspian Rush is to get in the Humvee with a full squad, and don't drive to the Gas Station via the Checkpoint. Instead, wait at the Comms Tower until the first set of M-COMs are destroyed and then drive straight there. Even better, get everyone to equip suppressors and ditch the Humvee behind some rocks and head up on foot. Much stealthier :D

Hehehe... never works for me. They still kill me even whenever I am out of sight. :grumpy:

Also, how come that, whenever a tank comes near me (or I get near it), even though I am not in it's sight, or close up, the person in the tank knows where I am and kills me? That makes no sense at all.

They might be using the proximity scanner, which works like the tugs in that it shows enemies that are around your tank on the map.

I squadded up with a few friends on his clan's server and I told them to put on Caspian Rush and try the Tower Detour strategy.

Once the first set went down we waited at the border for the orders to move up. I told everyone beforehand to equip a suppressor on their guns (or at least their pistols). I drove the Humvee about 50m behind a group of rocks to the left of the road and ditched it there. We were able to get to each M-COM at the same time and my friend told me to plant them at the same time. We did successfully, and we didn't even engage with any enemies until we actually planted the bombs.

For the next set, my friend and I (the other two were elsewhere) hopped into one of the Humvees and we drove on the far left of the road, across the river and up the hill. With the Russians' attention drawn to the two main roads heading up to their base, my friend and I quickly took the first M-COM while another teammate took the last one.

So fun being stealthy :D

I decided to have a selfish game at Seine and make the surrounds of C my home for entire match. Basically protecting myself up above with claymores and then seeing off would be flag attackers with the M249. Ended up 28-5 :indiff:

Camping or no camping, C was only lost once in a 750 ticket long game, and at times was the only flag we had.

In doing so I made the game a misery for some 21 star Colonel :D I ended up getting him 13 times  He seemed magnetically drawn to hunting me out and when he wasnt walking into my claymores, he was getting on the wrong end of either my pistol or the LMG. Good therapy, rounds like that.

:) Times like that are perfect moments for a battlerecorder. 21 star colonel served like KFC.

Wish there was functionality on battlelog to see how many times you get your nemesis killed...

In a later round I encountered what I hope is not the beginnings of a glitch. Metro, in that side corridor with the steps leading to B from C. There were two Support guys playing US who were dropping and blasting the crap out of that corridor with C4, even though they were nowhere to be seen, apart from on the minimap which had them in the corridor, but right up against the edge (like in the corner but a little bit beyond the corner of the corridor).

When I got killed by the C4, the kill cam showed them standing on the roof of that corridor with a black background behind them. I also got USASd by them when I was crouching by the flag at B, and again, the minimap and kill cam showed them in that corridor, but that corridor was full of my team.

Sorry for leaving you Mike. Friends invited me. We just spent hours launching buggies into the sky. :D
All good 👍. The round rotated to a Rush one and I made like a hockey player and got the puck out of there.

I thought end game was late 2012 and after math is early 13? That article has it reversed. Did I miss something along the way?

Sorry gatyrs, have to take a break and soak my dogs paw in medicine for a half hour. Unfortuneatly, he doesn't get to just leave it in the bowl ;)

No prob.
Too bad about this afternoon, when you joined me.
Was teamed up with this guy that had an AWESOME Borat accent that he spoke in while we flew around in a Lil' Bird kicking butt. We started losing when you joined. :p
