That sucks

Thanks I guess i forgot about that.

@ Slashfan
And yeah probably the best way (at least the way i got mine) was at operation metro.. I was running from B to A at the right door where every one piles up at.

Just run down the middle then turn right running up behind the enemy. Have your C4 ready. You should be able to eventually get at least 6 kills with one C4. My record is 8

My point is I've already met requirements and it isn't unlocking.

^^^^Ok?

I gave the AS VAL another chance last night. Going to take some getting used to but once I get my Holo and Extended mags it'll be ok so long as I get the recoil down lol

I finally managed to get a mic. I have it paired up with the PS3 and I can hear other people through it, but I'm not sure if people can hear me. I'll try to test it if any of you guys are on. On the topic of the AS VAL, in my opinion it is by far the best PDW. Its damage barely drops off at range. However, if you're shooting, stand still. If you try to strafe and shoot, the recoil goes into OMGWTFBBQ range.

Yeah I'm not one to stand still, I tend to shoot on the run and lead people on.

I'll have to test it with you in a little bit when I get on.

Well you're doing it wrong, then, when I use the VAL I stand in the exact centre of the map for the entire game and get like a million kills. Every now and then someone from the opposing team pleads with me to kill them with my knife instead out of respect for my ammo supply. Every now and then I agree and allow them to approach me, as long as they're crawling (sideways) so that they understand who's in charge.

No but really, you can still move when you're holding the VAL and you can still get kills with it when you're on the move, but it just means you need better trigger discipline; shorter bursts with longer pauses between them... But it benefits greatly from standing still.

I started getting the hang of it last night, definitely a decent gun, just need more time to get used to it I think. I need to stay away from certain maps with it though. Some guns and maps just do not mix.

I find most of the PDWs favour smaller maps but the VAL is one of the handful that is decent-ish at long range (if you can land the hits). I think it has less drop off at long range than some assault rifles, or maybe it was carbines. I might give it a try on Kharg, Firestorm and so on as so far I've only used it on Canals TDM. Recently anyway, my first 100 kills with it were from all over the place.

After I've done the 50 kills with the UMP as assault and recon I'll be moving on to the PP-19, but I think I should probably focus on getting the first set of Specialist assignments done. That means 23 claymore kills, 16 AT mine kills and two or three air vehicles destroyed with AT launchers. Any tips? I had been thinking of camping the little bird spawn on Bandar and otherwise playing lots of armoured kill and close quarters for the other two, but I don't really fancy playing like a scrub just to do these assignments as quickly as possible. At the same time though I want that assignment for kills with each class to start counting.

WWGTPD?

I prefer using PDW's on a lot of maps, besides my beloved AEK. That's probably my favorite gun on the game besides the P90 and MP7 and several other assault rifles like the F2000, M416 and M16A3.

Sweet!
Next time we're on together we can try it out.

For the claymore kills, the easiest way I found kills was Close Quarters maps. I mostly deployed the claymores in a line. If the first one did not kill the person, then the second would finish the job. Even doing that, it was slow going. Make sure you pack all the essentials for your campsite though, as the quickest way is to do some camping.

For AT Mine kills, make sure you always have mines deployed. Spawn on a flag and throw the mines down where a vehicle is likely to tread. Sometimes I would throw two or three in a group and throw and two or three in another area. Sometimes I would put all six in an area. The key is to always having mines available on the ground for the opposing team to run over. It also helps to make note of where you have put mines down since the mines persist through death. If you do this, then you can pull up the big map view and see if the mines you put down still exist or have been destroyed.

AT launcher kills on air vehicles? I did those with the Javelin and laser designations.

I was playing a Canals TDM with Slashfan and we were both on the crane. I get sniped by a guy with a Saiga from the trains. HOW? Then Slashfan got sniped as well

Slugs. Shouldnt be that difficult.

Definitely slugs. It was rampant in Bad Company 2 because slugs had no drop for some reason, so they were point and shoot no matter what distance there was.

Nope they were frag rounds. I was like wutttttttt. I honestly couldn't believe he made that shot.

Yep, I have had the experience of a rather good aimer running around Caspian a few months ago with a 870, slugs and an Acog making my life miserable.

Last night was a pain; couldn't find a server worth a damn (spawned into 3 huge spawn camps) and then found what looked like a balanced Caspian CQ game.

There were around 6 100 star guys being irritants, camping on the top of the tower with Javelins and Soflams. For some reason our chopper pilots weren't able to take them out, so first I tried with a MAV, but that failed and then as a last resort I busted out the M98 for the first the first time (:D). Mixed success - got my longest headshot of 426m but got bored and went back to PTO.

Thanks for the tips. I forgot I had asked about claymores before, I won't ask again! I went on an Armoured Kill Bandar server and a Little Bird pretty much landed on the tip of my RPG so I was grateful to him for that, only one more of those to go. Didn't try AT mines but I reckon there are a few good spots for that, I suppose I could be really cheap and lay mines either side of a tank and hit it with an RPG up the bum bum to do a hefty bit of damage first as well as get the driver motivated to leave the area.

I had one hilarious moment in that same round after I bailed from a chopper. I parachuted down to a flag, I think it was C, and heard a tank approaching. I hid, flanked around and saw not only an MBT but also a tank destroyer, and I'm just one engineer against the two of them so I decided that rather than alert them both to my presence I'd just repair tool the tank destroyer to hopefully either get the driver to eject or destroy it before he's even realised what's going on.

As I got up behind him to do it I noticed I was getting any hit markers... The guy had hopped out anyway! So naturally I hopped in and managed to disable the tank which was looking the other way, then the engineer who had hopped out (to place AT mines on the flag) had switched to his Javelin to try and kill me, from about five metres away. I spotted him and the MBT driver who had hopped out and hit the smoke; neither of them moved an inch so I was able to just aim at their markers, go 'bang' then 'bang' again and killed them both no problem with the main cannon.

Idiots. That tank destroyer went on to help me kill another tank destroyer, a scout chopper who was apparently trying to see inside my tank or something (can't imagine why else he'd be within slapping distance, must've been the same guy I'd RPG'd earlier on) and one guy on an ATV. Then I got stuck and destroyed by a jet and chopper.

For AT mines, I like to put two of them really close together, almost one on top of the other, and put them in the middle of wherever I think the vehicle will go. Usually, what happens is that the driver doesn't even notice them and drives straight onto their demise.

If all else fails, you could try this:

My gun issues as of late would have to be with the ACR and why it has very little knock down power.
Even though i have 1200 kills with it when i go back to other guns like the M4 and SIG
the ACR feels very unrealistic .
In reality it be just like a M4 of SCAR-L .
It actually feels more like the PDW when i think about it.

Whenever I need AT mines or just want to be annoying, put them on an ATV or buggy, drive towards a tank, then once you hit the tank, you blow up. Great substitution for C4 lol

I think you will be surprised at how often you get kills with AT Mines. While I probably have the Repair Tool equipped in my Engineer kit at the moment, I will probably change that back to AT Mines. The things are useful and netted me kills much more often than I thought they would.

I love mines. I have got 856 kills with them (and counting).
I generally group them in lots of 2 or 3 to destroy what ever touches them.
If I see that an enemy tank is using thermal optics then I space the mines all apart to slow the tank down and try to take it out with the RPG.

I was playing a good game on Gulf of Oman the other night and had about 25000 points and then the game froze :(

I used frag rounds on that map once as well and also took out snipers on the crane with it.
Splash damage.

As for AT mine kills I got quite a few of them on Tehran Highway CQ. The roads down to the central road (Where B is) from the two side roads (where A and C are located) are so steep it means that tanks and LAVs have a really hard time even seeing the things.

Apok

Hahahaha yeah.

Snipers hate me on metro.
That ticket both I bomb my frag rounds in there. Usually get the kill if there is a sniper in there.
