I'm a fan of using my weapons semi-automatically as much as I can. The're a lot less recoil, and you don't waste as much ammo due to BF3's client-side lag (i.e it seems like it takes 10+ shots to drop someone when it only takes 6).

The SCARs, AN94 and G3A3 are all perfect weapons that I use.

Yeah that lag is annoying, especially when you get hit by 6 in extremely rapid succession and it kills you. Then you think "I just loaded my clip into that dude and he's still alive WTF".

My current loadouts are:

Engi: A91 (Kobra, Suppressor) + Stinger

Support: QBB95 (Bipod, Kobra, Suppressor) or MP7 (Extended Mags, RDS) depending on the map + C3.

I was running with the REX, but will try the MP443 now I think.

I dont play assault or recon much any more, so they currently have old loadouts :D

MP443 is a solid gun, but I prefer the 1911 over it.

Also, just learned how to effectively use the Mobile Artillery tonight. I know I'm a bit late on that but I've only had Premium since late November.

Oh yeah, I forgot.

Anyway, here are my setups.

Assault = P90 With: Reflex RDS OR PP-2000 With Iron Sights, Tactical Light and Extended Mag.
And the M26 Slug.

Engineer = DAO-12 With: KOBRA [RDS], Extended Mag and 12G Buckshot.
And a Javelin or Stinger.

Support = Same DAO-12 as Engineer OR A Saiga-12K with: Holographic, Extended Mag and 12G Slug.
And C4s along with the Ammo Crate.

Recon = Same PP-2000 as Assault OR a USAS-12 with Holographic, Extended Mag and Buckshot.

Rarely use the USAS-12 though because it is too weak and is almost uncontrollable while using the Automatic Setting.

Why in the world would you use slugs with semi automatic shotguns?

My loadouts.

Assault. SCAR L iron sights and heavy barrel and med kit and defib. With REX pistol. Will likely change when I unlock a few more things.

Engineer. SCAR H with flash sup and US holo and foregrip. Either stinger or javelin and a repair torch and Rex pistol.

Support which is on of my favourites at the moment. PKP Pechneg with Kobra sight and flash sup and bipod. Rex pistol and C4 and ammo box although sometimes use mortar. May change sight to US holo when unlocked.

I love the L86's handling but for me it hasn't got enough punch unfortunately.

Recon. M39 EMR US holo and bipod and 93R pistol. Then a MAV and radio beacon.

Will likely replace all pistols with the Glock 18 when its unlocked.

I must be at such a low level compared to all of you.

Also on the note of a few posts earlier. How do you aim the mobile artillery?

A friend gave me this tip: After you fire the rockets, bring up the pause menu. When the rockets hit the ground, the map on the pause menu give splash indicators in a circle shape where the rockets are hitting. This way you can see where you need to adjust your aim for the next set of rockets you fire.

In the one round where I used the truck last night, I managed to get 5 kills and apparently pissed off a guy because he came right for me with a chopper.

I also managed to destroy a jet with it, but that was more due to luck as the jet passed over as I was firing the rockets.

My loadouts differ depending on the size of the map but I've also been swapping weapons a lot recently to get the mastery dog tags for as many as I can. I also have a 'go-to' kit when I need to pull my try-hard pants up.

Assault (small maps) - FAMAS - Kobra - grip - suppressor
(with such a small mag and long reload you need to be off the map to get the most from this weapon but it works well.)
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/battlereport/show/80429376/4/352878268/

Assault (large maps) - Scar-L - Kobra - bipod - heavy barrel

Go-To Assault kit - AUG A3 - Kobra and that's it but sometimes a suppressor.

Other favourites: AN-94, AK74M, G3A3 (monster on metro)

Engineer - On almost all maps - ACW-R - Kobra - sometimes silencer.

If I'm tanking at the start of a round I use the M-TAR because if I need to jump out of the tank because a guy is repair torching or support is coming for C4 I need to kill those guys quick before I lose my tank. I love my tank.

Support: M60E4 - PK-A (3.4x) - Bipod - Extended mags 23 Service stars with this baby!

When I need to be more mobile L86A2 - Kobra - suppressor

Recon: When on the move M40A5 - 7x scope - Straight Pull Bolt

Occasionally I'll use the AS-VAL if I need to be aggressive and plant spawn beacons behind enemy lines.

I can't for the life of me get that weapon figured out.
I can't see the arrow as it flies so I can't judge the bullet drop which I find annoying.
Do you have to lead any more with it than a regular sniper rifle?

The Balanced Bolt does not have any bolt drop out to 80 or 100 meters. I cannot remember which of the two distances. You have to do a bit more leading with the crossbow, but you should quickly get the hang of using the weapon knowing the Balanced Bolt has no drop out to 80 or 100 meters.

EDIT: I just did a bit more searching and the distance is 80 meters. This could potentially be useful.

The balanced bolt is the exact reason I believe the Xbow is a much better tool for assaults than any other class, it's the perfect counter-sniper tool for those times you have a sniper giving you grief and I love it. When you've got it dialled in it's seriously useful... But it's very difficult to use against moving targets.

Yes agreed it is amazing. I have had a lot of fun with it lately

My Aim is awful D:. i Really need to play more. I was better after playing a couple hour but Damn i regret not playing it for a bit :)

Now using the M240B as my main gun.

Epic gun. Same damage as the PKP which I used to love until I unlocked this but higher rate of fire and bullet velocity so longer range and less drop and also gets to the target quicker so they can't fire as many rounds back before I kill them.

Only real downside is it has quite large recoil but I can handle it and when I get the flash sup it will be even easier to handle.

Also still can't get the battlelog to work. How do I get UK support? Someone a while ago mentioned a text chat feature with a support guy but I can't find it.

The M240B is a great light machine gun...

I like to use it in a more stationary way with a US holo sight, bipod and extended mags. It's really good on close combat maps like Rush on Grand Bazaar.

However, as a more movable LMG, I prefer to use the M27 IAR, with US holo, foregrip and heavy barrel.
It's really accurate, and has good damage at all ranges up to about 400 meter. And you can switch between full auto and single shot fire rate, which makes it even better. :)

Yeh but on the move I almost always make sure it is close quarters. If I have a long range target I just setup the bipod and spray. If I don't get him first time the suppression will be enough to let me move to cover and advance from there.

:)

Even more if you use Squad Suppression. :p

M60E4. Swear by that gun.

I dusted off the M240B for the camo assignment and just wasn't as effective with it. I actually prefer the slower rate of fire on the M60E4 maybe because it means I reload just a little less often. I don't see myself going to any other LMG even with the 12 service stars I got on the PKP before I switched to the M60E4.

You mean Battlelog in a web browser?

Mine works fine.

Have you tried clearing your cache? Tried a different browser?

No my PS3 is trying to find a battlelog linked to my old email address yet I have changed it both on PSN and origin yet the two won't link.

Hope that makes sense at 2am.
