Just goes to show what's wrong with BF's playerbase these days then doesn't it. Playing the game not to have fun playing it, But to just stop others from having fun. Their just so sad, And to be fair, Just need to grow up.

Some people find that fun, though, griefers will grief. I don't play Hardcore because on the select few occasions I have it's been 90% Recons camping with semi auto rifles and 10% everyone else getting chewed up so I gave up because even without friendly fire I was just bored. I'm just glad BF3 doesn't let friendlies kill you in standard mode!

Well I know that's why they need to get a life. Gone are the days when people played to have close exciting matches and fun teaming with freinds. Instead being an arse seems to be the order of the day

As annoying as it is, they've paid for the game so can do as they wish.

It was the same in BF1942 and every other BF game since.

Only time I ever fire at a friendly on purpose is when they are a medic and no matter how many times standing in front or behind them they will not give me a medical pack. So i take out my G17 and fire a shot into the the person's leg and then usually the throw one out to heal themselves.

It really does annoy me when they are totally oblivious to the game like that

I had a recon do that to me once as I was running over to give him a health pack. It was in hardcore... I nearly came to the decision of shooting him instead.

Well when i need one I run to the medic. When i am standing next to the guy and banging the select button and he doesn't respond after about I don't know 30 seconds yeah i will do as I said above.

That happens in all forms of online gaming. People will find a way to grief no matter what it takes.

I know this but you seem to be forgetting something here, Were talking about specifically battlefield 3. What I'm trying to get at is, Not to long ago the battlefield community was regarded to be slightly more mature and serious than other similar games. This was something that drawed my to the series in fact, But since about say a year to 8 months ago the game as suffered dramatically from an influx of bad players and idiots who don't play to have fun but make legitimate players suffer. A while back someone in the thread ( I wont name names, Although you probably know who it is) posted "I like spending a whole round of metro sat on an ammo pack MAV'ing people". Then when he needs help off team mates and doesnt get it he shoots them! How ironic. He bought the game and has the right to do it I agree, Its just a shame the players who play to win and to have fun teaming up with friends (which tbh is what BF is all about, Have to put up with such crap.

Ah yes, but BFBC was the first Battlefield game on consoles (where the casual, less serious and therefore more likely to be immature gamers are generally found) and it took until BF3 for DICE to attempt to get a piece of the Call of Duty audience, so it's to be expected that the quality of the community would go down. It happens to every game that 'goes mainstream', more players means the frequency of meeting a griefer or a troll goes up too, regardless of the ratio of good players to bad players.

Any time I'm playing assault and I have the med pack equipped, I typically throw one out randomly. Since I mostly play Conquest, whenever I get to a flag, I throw one down near it, even if it's just me there. I'll throw one down in the middle of a contested area, because as long as bullets are being fired, people are going to need health.

It's just for whatever reason, that recon that was laying prone against a building must have thought I was going to overlook him, even though I saw the health icon above his head wasn't full.

Once in a while I'll run into an idiot who won't drop packs down, but most of the time everyone plays the objective.

Good point, But it seemed BFBC and BFBC2 didn't suffer half has bad as BF3 has started to. I didn't think BF3 was that badly effected either until about 8 - 6 months ago.

I'll have to agree with you all, I went on last night for the first time in about a month and a half, and it just seemed to be full of people running around like headless chickens or sitting in a corner waiting for people to come by (a la COD).
On the plus side I managed to get into a few of DOOM49's (youtuber) Ps3 games, proper fun that was :dopey:.

____
Operation Riverside - Supported game modes: Capture the Flag, Air Superiority, Conquest, Rush, Squad Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch

Distinguishing features: This fall themed map houses an electric power substation at its center, with a small river flowing along its axis. The layout of the bases in Operation Riverside caters somewhat towards infantry action rather than all-out vehicle warfare. It's generally speaking an infantry-friendly landscape where soldiers can go by foot between the bases, while ground vehicles need to take more roundabout roads to traverse the environment.

Across the river giving this map its name, players can find a spectacular jump in the form of a partly destroyed wooden bridge. A lot of other ramps have been carefully placed in the environment on Operation Riverside to make sure that the map is full of exciting options for riders of the new dirt bike.

____
Nebandan Flats - Supported game modes: Capture the Flag, Air Superiority, Conquest, Rush, Squad Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch

Distinguishing features: In this arid desert dotted with gigantic wind generators lies a seemingly non-distinguishing warehouse. But behind its unassuming exterior hides a secret weapons and munitions depot, leading to a clash in the area. The relative openness of the desert setting allows for full freedom of movement for the entire range of vehicles at disposal in Battlefield 3 multiplayer. The low amount of natural cover available also demands quick transportation between capture points, as players are otherwise open to attack.

____
Kiasar Railroad - Supported game modes: Capture the Flag, Air Superiority, Conquest, Rush, Squad Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch

Distinguishing features: This picturesque summer logging industry setting sees a strategic railway stretch across the map - with covert weapons deliveries being its main purpose. The many height changes in this undulating landscape can be used to your advantage - There's plenty of opportunity to hide from the enemy and use cover as you approach your targets.

While this map also has ample opportunity for dirt bike riders to catch big air, the jumps on Kiasar Railroad are typically more carefully molded into the landscape itself, or not as obvious.

____
Sabalan Pipeline - Supported game modes: Capture the Flag, Air Superiority, Conquest, Rush, Squad Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch

Distinguishing features: Ever since we demoed the Alborz Mountain map at GamesCom 2012 and saw the amazing fan reactions, we've known that snow is one of the most stunning settings we can provide in Battlefield 3. Sabalan Pipeline is no different. The oil pipeline traversing this frosty winter landscape has immense economic value and is a highly contested battlefield.

Similar to Operation Riverside, Sabalan Pipeline was built to cater for a mix of vehicle and infantry gameplay. Compared to the other three maps in End Game, Sabalan Pipeline has fewer and narrower roads that are important to control if you want to dominate the opposition. At the center of this map lies a central base that is also an essential asset, as it allows you extended control over the road leading to and from your main bases. This is equally important whether playing the signature Battlefield Conquest mode or our take on Capture the Flag that we are introducing in End Game.

Haven't played BF3 for a good couple of weeks. I have been looking forward to this DLC though and eager to resume playing regularly again. Maps look nice and I like the mix of infantry and vehicle play.

These maps sound fantastic. Looking at the snow pic, cant wait to make those storage tanks go boooom!

Have i ever told you the definition HOW MY TEAMIES SUCK?! My god! Its so terrible. Its like 9/10 im in the worse team...

I feel your pain, I played my first few games for about 1 - 1/2 months yesterday and seemed the only one on my team who had the crazy unheard of idea of killing enemies.

Wait.. you're suppose to kill the other team?

Next you'll be saying that this entire time I was suppose to be playing the objectives as well. :sly:

Caz
Killing enemies?!?!

Ive been doing it wrong!

Um just to confirm, I was being sarcastic LOL. It was just a tongue in cheek comment that despite not playing for nearly 2 months I was the only one doing anything worthwile, And getting any result.
