I'm excited about the new maps to, this game deserves far more attention then it get

Unfortunately the only real problem I have with this game is how often the game can become spawn destruction if the teams aren't balanced, killing people who don't have a chance to fight back, and being jammed in the spawn (often as soon as you join) makes for a pointless game. Fortunately it's as easy to fix as it is to join a new lobby and if I don't get a good one first attempt it almost always goes well on second.

Once you get in a closely fought game though, my god does it get good. All the little moments you remember just don't happen in other games and it's those moments that make it go from good to epic. Last night in particular I was hiding in the well on C (White Pass Conquest) with the enemy team all around me as they had the flag, then an enemy medic jumps right over the top of me into the well with me without noticing me(!) and scared the living daylights out of me. So naturally I sprayed him, dived out the well and ran for the trees under heavy fire and made it out alive.

Very well said, I too have never experienced fighting or battle play like I have in BBC2 (Not even in COD). I can remember a few matches where we had a 8+ GTP'rs that made it really interesting! Even having a one squad of GTP'rs where great times. One map in particular that the fighting gets intense and/or can become a spawn campers paradise at the same time is Arica Harbor. The Urban Warfare on this map just gets insane to the point that I die because my pistol is empty, my rifle is empty and I am not in a postion to reload!

Arica Harbor is our (me and my usual team-mates) favourite map, though as you correctly point out if lopsided it's still not to entertaining. However once you get a real struggle on your hands it just gets outrageously fun and the chaos of war has never felt so intense.

In terms of sheer atmosphere there is nothing on the market which can compete largely down to the sound design and destructability. I love how the in game characters actually give you useful information from calling for ammo/health with selext, the automatic exclamations at sniper fire and shouting reload it all helps add to the experience.

I still use the old Hand Grenade trick to see if someone is hiding out in the nearby bushes, or building by getting a verbal response from the other side!

I was thinking about going back through the singleplayer to relive the maps but just haven't done it yet

Same here, I thought about going back through "Hard" to retrieve those trophys. I am pretty much in limbo on buying any games at this point. I will get Vietnam but when GT5 comes out I will become just another fixture in my living room sitting in my driving chair. I have been on the fence as to where to start in that game, I will probabaly focus on completing the licenses first!

Best FPS on PS3 by a mile, doesn't get enough recognition because of fanboys distorted view of Call of Duty games and idiot reviewers such as those at IGN who can't see past the mediocre glitch fest MW2. To put it in a nutshell, it's a grown-ups version of Modern Warfare where noob tubing, quick scoping, boosting and glitching don't exist and actual teamwork and co-operation does.

Yuo know ,the most popular games are also the most ashed, and most hated. MW2 was a great game, but no one will agree, because they're too busy calling it a 🤬 box, and screaming about the real lag, camp, spawn killing fest that is BC2. And they're all also too busy drooling over Black Ops.

Hold on, you've just pulled up BC2 for firstly lag, MW2 lags, stops games in the middle to migrate the host and more often than not fails. Then for camping, see this is where the grown-up statement I wrote earlier comes in, do you think that in war soldiers run about like idiots a few hundred yards from the enemy? Or leave their squad? MW2 was a good (not great) game simply over-rated and it sold millions because of the simple fact that all the kids bought it. Also, I have Black Ops and it's much the same, hence the fact I've been playing Medal of Honor which I bought the following day a lot more.

Wow, the first person I have found that likes MOH. I thought it was total garbage considering I participated in the Beta and it was much the same. Unfortuanately they hardly fixed anything that people inputed to them from the beta to correct. In my book MOH is a total epic fail. The maps are too small, the environments are not destructable to my liking. The MOH campaigns had some cool things about it, but 5 hrs to complete is way too short. The online experience is much like MW2, just a glorified paint ball fight. I liked the COD games but agree that they are overated. EA missed on MOH which I should have figured since it was so hyped up for months before its release. I can't comment on Black Ops since I have not played it to date, probably wait till it goes on sale before I buy it. For now I will continue playing BBC2 especially since Map Pack 7 and Vietnam will be released in the near future. I have been hesitant on purchasing anything to start since GT5 release will be next Wednesday. I might consider playing MOH again when EA releases a patch to fix many of its issues.

Always good to see people still playing BFBC2. I just played it the other day for the first time in a while and I managed to enjoy the multiplayer experience once again. I agree to the poster who mentioned about the occasional spawn destruction...I've been on that boat many times. So far, it seems that the servers are not acting up like it used to. That, or I'm lucky.

I can't wait for these new maps. Regarding the BFBC1 maps (which I missed out on), I've heard of nothing but good things about it. But...I'll try to find a way to pop in this disc without GT5 consuming my life.

I actually quite like Medal of Honor, obviously DICE who did the multiplayer for it weren't going to make it better than their own Battlefield games but I still prefer it to CoD games. Agreed that the campaign mode is too short, however so is BC2, MW2 and Black Ops, 5-7 hours seems to be the norm these days for games in this genre simply because the developers priority is multiplayer. I think if they're going to do that they should at least release some single player dlc.

Well I know GT5 is just around the corner, Tomorrow to be exact! Looks like EA thinks they can sway some people to play BBC2 by releasing what appears to be Map Pack 7 in the next few days with Vietnam to follow in the next few weeks? It looks like they made some weapons tweaks to the game with this next patch. Here are the fixes and Oh yeah see you guys on the Track!

Multiplayer Update 3 for Bad Company 2 -- PS3 tonight, other formats to follow
BY: zh1nt0 POSTED: Nov 23, 2010, 12:00AM COMMENTS: 73 (Login Required to Comment)
As the title suggests, there is an update for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 coming for the PS3 platform, and it contains multiple changes to the game. This update is also in preparation for our upcoming VIP Map Pack 7 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, which explains the size of it.

We are working hard on getting these fixes out for both PC and Xbox 360 as well, so in the coming days, look for updates on those platforms as well.

Sometime tomorrow the update will be deployed and will be downloadable for everyone starting up their PS3. PS3 players might encounter some temporary outages or suffer from lag during the server updates (between GMT 00:01 2010-11-24 and GMT 00:01 2010-11-25).

Here is a complete list of all the fixes in this update:
- Acog and Red dot scope now equippable on MK-14 and G3.
- Fixed a bug on PC where the G3 would do less damage than intended.
- Reduced VADS push back and damage to balance it with the ZU23.
- Fixed a bug where Vehicle Countermeasures would fail to remove tracer darts at high speed.
- Reduced the reload time for Vehicle Countermeasures.
- Slightly increased the AT4's damage vs armor to emphasize its anti vehicle role while keeping it balanced vs armor.
- Increased the AT4’s top speed and acceleration so users spend less time exposed when firing.
- Increased the AT4's splash damage so it competes with other AT weapons vs infantry. The AT4 still has the least splash damage of all AT weapons.
- Reduced the splash damage of the Carl Gustav to bring it in line with other explosive weapons. The Carl Gustav still has the most splash damage of all AT weapons.
- Increased the 1 shot kill range of the M95 body shot to counter its lower rate of fire.
- Fixed a bug with the SVU that gave it better close range damage than other semi auto weapons.
- Reduced all weapon damage to the MCOM by 50%.
- Fixed a C4 vs MCOM exploit on Atacama Desert.
- Fixed a bug with FOV when aiming the M1911.
- Lowered the close range damage of the AN94 to highlight its long range role.
- Increased the accuracy of the F2000 on the move to highlight its role as a mobile AR.
- Increased the close range damage of the shotguns to give them a greater advantage vs slugs.
- Slightly lowered the damage of the M60 to balance its accuracy advantage vs other LMGs.
- Slightly lowered the damage of the MG3 at close range to balance it with other high rate of fire weapons.
- Slightly increased the damage of the UH6

I'm happy to hear that they are going to fix the C4 to MCOMs, but it's too late. GT5 is here tomorrow, and I've gotten so tired of this game lately I've opted to give it up until the Map Pack 7 comes out

Looks like EA released the patch last night for the Upcoming Map Pack 7 and Vietnam. When you start BBC2 it will automatically start the download, its a a large file at ~1.7GB. Not sure when I will see you guys on the Battlefield at this point

Having been playing GT5, I thought I would not miss BF at all, but I kind of do now. It's two different worlds, cars and war. I just love the feeling of owning nooobs in a strategical FPS. I'm looking forward to the new map packs definitely, and I think I'll be back on the bafflefield sooner than even I thought.

Also I think the patch was so big because I think it contained the new maps that will be unlocked later on

Map pack 7 out now! Vietnam will release on December 21. Oasis map is fun and will be another Arica Harbor, Harvest is huge and offers something for everyone. Have yet to play the other two maps but should be awesome. See ya on the track again soon!

Oasis is the best map so far, BY far. It has EVERYTHING. Harvest Day is great, Cold War is fun, and Heavy Metal is just nutty. But also fun. I might add that it may be TOO big for a good game since all the people will be spread out.

Did I mention Oasis is awesome?

I agree with you Oasis is awesome, doesn't take long to find trouble on that map. I have yet to venture off and explore the side of the map opposite the water. Heavy Metal is HUGE, it just needs more countermeasures to fend off the onslaught of Helicopters! I tried out Cold War Rush yesterday, and that map requires skill and teamwork to destroy the M-Con stations. There are not to many areas to sneak around on Cold War and you really have to use the houses to move around the map. My favorite has to be Harvest Day, It too is a relatively large map but you can find trouble there relatively quickly. Harvest Day is a Snipers Paradise as there are many areas to "Snipe" from and the Kill camera does not always give your position away!

Heavy metal is surprisingly large. I want to time myself running from one end to the other sometime just for grins. Thinking it might take a solid 5 mins.

Good luck running from one end to the other without getting taken out by a helo, sniper, or someone else. So much open territory that you have to utilize a vehicle to move to the next flag so you don't get taken out. Have fun with that!

True, true. Suppose that is what makes it a challenge ;)

Thread revival. :)

Since we are few days away from the launch of BC2:Vietnam DLC this one is probably the last trailer. I know everybody is playing GT5 in their free time (as I do) but I think jumping into 'Nam sometimes with a full auto M16 or flame thrower will be a good change of pace from all that racing. :)

I hope to see you online.

Will be back online after the holidays, Instead of shooting noobs over Christmas I will be in my stand shooting Deer. 👍 You guys be safe over the holidays, have a great Christmas and a Happy New year! See ya on the Battlefield and of course the track next year!

I just received an E-mail from EA and you can download Vietnam through the EA Store 3 days early! That would be today! Here is the Link you might be able to do it from the online store in the game also. The Email also says you can go to the EA Gun Club and do the Welcome to the Jungle challenge to earn a badge.

Before anyone buys that just know that is only for PC^^^

I'm not sure if it's available on the PSN store just yet

I suddenly thought about this game a couple of days ago. It hasn't left my mind since...

I rented it through the summer from Gamefly until my PS3's Blu-Ray broke. I returned the game, cancelled the service and never looked back. Shame.

Now my PS3 has since been fixed, and I'm thinking of buying it. I don't like FPSs at all, but I really enjoy this one. Anyway, just my mind in conflict of what to spend my Christmas money on :)

There is a lot of updated content available for the game right now. There was recently two new maps released about a month ago that were off the BFBC1 game, and are really really fun. And Vietnam was just released also.

Hey guys, Hows Vietnam?
