just built an integra type-R to use in the proffesional ff race, but i'm really having trouble winning with it, i was thinking of trying my beetle cup car since it manuvers so much better. anyone out there tried this?

I've tried it with the Vitz 1.3L Euro Edition.. was fine... I recommend looking at your settings... and consider revising your driving style. The Type R is more than capable of handling this race. It could just be you are not taking a good FF line around the tracks...

Post your settings on the Type R and mods...

If you want to win easily a reasonably modified Type-R should beat everything else. I won in a Civic Type-R, great handling little car. However, if you want a really easy race just use the Citroen Xsara Rally car.

Oh, and DON'T sell the Spoon Civic. The Pro FF Series is the only way to get one.

Use the Citroen rally car and just tune it a bit and you should easly win.

yes, the xsara is the most powerful FF car and also very light (stock 960kg). With it you should win like cake. If you tune it even more, because it has race suspension. Just setup it right and voila.

After tuning, the Integra Type-R (both of them), Beetle Cup Car, Alfa Romeo 156 and Acura CL are ALL more powerful than the Xsara.

I'm sorry for being sloppy and not precise. The xsara is most powerfull STOCK FF car. That would be better, right? :D Thank you for corrections, Famine.

thanks guys, i had a civic type-R, but i sold it to build the integra 'cause it has more power. i feel that the civic handles better, i will probibally use it & i don't plan on selling the spoon, 'cause i have it in GT2, & it's sweeeeeeeeeeet.

I love the Honda ITR. With most of the non-power mods done, and the car dialled in, you can win the Pro FF with less than 300 hp.

Forget about the power levels of each car.

Trust me, when you get over 300hp into a FF you only end up with understeer (unless you're in the xsara).

On that note, the xsara is your best bet for over kill.

Back to the power issue though...

Just get your power up to a decent level and from there concentrate soley on the handling of the car.

It might not make too much sense right now but once you get onto Cote d Azure with any of the cars mentioned above you will surely see that handling outweighs power in the ff pro series.

Good luck and let us all know how it goes. :D

gahaha. some people say mini is the best?

i recently did FF pro series too with honda ITR with some tunings...
i accidentatly turned off my ps2 before saving it.
so i have to run 2 more races now :P

"After tuning, the Integra Type-R (both of them), Beetle Cup Car, Alfa Romeo 156 and Acura CL are ALL more powerful than the Xsara."

but what about power to weight ratios and torque ? I'm sure the Acura CL would have a pretty bad power/weight ratio ? ( and would handle like a sack of wet **** compared to the hondas / citroen )

If by best, you mean fastest, then no, the Mini is not the best. But.......
When driven properly and smoothly by a competent driver, the Mini is more than capable of beating these races. Its one of the best handling FF cars thanks to its lightweight and short wheel base. Search through these forums for set-ups for FF cars, and once you learn to set the suspension and gear ratios correctly the Mini is a joy to drive. Don't expect to thrash the competition like you can in a full tuned ITR or Xsara, and if you rely on the straight line speed and power of these cars to catch up with the rest of the field after you hit the wall/grass on every turn, then you're not going to get along with the Mini. Spend some time learning smooth lines round each of the 3 Pro FF courses, and you'll be golden. :sly:
