Kyuss & Queens of The Stone Age are actually "Stoner Rock". Kyuss virtually invented the genre and well, 90% of the QOTSA members are from Kyuss anyway.

I'm terrible at catagorizing music, most of the music that I listen to can be placed into several different genres.

Alternative - Radiohead
Hip-Hop/Rap group - Jurassic 5
Hip-Hop/Rap solo - Sage Francis
Old School Rap - Public Enemy
Indie/Electronic/Pop - The Flaming Lips (The Postal Service take a close 2nd)
Jam Band - The Grateful Dead
Folk/Rock - Bob Dylan
Funk/Rock - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Prog. Rock/Indie - The Mars Volta
Emo/Punk - At The Drive-In
Country - Johnny Cash
Reggae - Bob Marley And The Wailers
Classic Rock - Pink Floyd (Or Led Zeppelin, I can't decide)
Rock n' Roll - The Beatles
Punk - Refused
Rap/Rock - Rage Against The Machine
Industrial - NIN
Punk/Ska/Reggae - Sublime

Artists that belong here but I couldnt think of a spot for:
Wilco
Interpol
Simon & Garfunkel
Deltron 3030
Beck

Prog. rock: Marillion/Pink Floyd
Heavy Metal: Iron Maiden
Prog. metal: Dream Theater
Powermetal: Hammerfall/Manowar

Rock-(of some sort)-tool, mars volta, sabbath, floyd
Piano rock-BEn folds (I like the music written as a trio played solo byt him)
Punk-I can stand rufio but I'm not sure it fits
Pop-(more pop rock) Foo fighters
Country- Isn't that a place......not.....music...................COUNTRY SMELLS
