Best Car for GT World Championship?

I easily did it with the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP but I'd say the Sauber Mercedes C9 is the best.

If you're on a budget then use the Corvette ZR1 LM race car, I had no problems with that. Fastest car for this event is the Suzuki Escudo which is quite a bit quicker than the LMPs with the right setup.

Any group C LMP car. The 908 FAP, the R18 TDI, Pescarolo C60, Bentley Speed 7, Toyota GT-One...

I've used each of these in my numerous play throughs of that championship, there're all good.

There's no "Best Car" other than the one that best suits your driving style and abilities.

Personally i find the group C cars a bit of a handful but the modern LMP cars are much easier to drive in comparison. The R18 felt particularly "safe". Pug 908 FAP was my favourite.

The ZR1 is a little heavy...

Yeah it is, but over 1000hp though when upgraded and plenty of downforce. Great considering its price
If you give it 1000HP, it'll just ruin the car with the understeer...

Hi,
Can you guys please point me to the best tuning specs for the ZR1 race car and the GT-R for this race?

Here's the compilation of tunes for GT6. Thanks goes out to the people contributing tunes and compiling them.

ZR1 https://sites.google.com/site/gt6tunes/lemans
R35 GT-R https://sites.google.com/site/gt6tunes/touring-cars

As far as my recommendation for this series, I used the Minolta and don't think I had any problems. As others said, pretty much any Group C, GT1, GT2, or LMP should be a piece of cake. Also the old school Toyota 7 and Chapparell 2J can easily win this, and you'll probably want one to win the Historic Racing Car Cup.

I used the ZR1 Race Car to win a bunch of the early races that it could compete in since it's super fast and cheap, and then bought the Minolta with the money I won. Properly tuned, the ZR1 is a great car for the money.

I came on here looking for an answer to the exact same question as the OP, so I’m pleased to have found this thread. I feared that I would have to save up for a LMP car, but it’s interesting to read that the Corvette ZR1 LM Race Car and GT-R R35 Touring Car are viable alternatives (and considerably cheaper options too!!)

I’d dismissed the Corvette, as I have the Corvette Z06 LM Race Car, and it handles dreadfully, which was surprising as the Corvette’s were so nice to drive in GT5. I’d also dismissed the GT-R R35 also, as when I checked the line-up of cars for the GT World Championship, that car was at the back of the grid, with the front full of LMP cars.

However, thanks to the links above, I’ve found a tune for my Z06 which I will try later to see if that improves matters, although I suspect it may still be underpowered compared to the ZR1. Failing that I guess I’ll try buying either a ZR1 or GT-R R35 and see how I fare with those.

EDIT: The tune for my Z06 definitely made it a bit more stable, but I still struggled with it a bit, so I decided to go for the GT-R R35. I absolutely sailed through the championship and have been using it in the first few races of the Super series (or at least the ones where race cars are eligible). It's a superb car, that is both pretty quick in a straight line and super stable in corners. Highly recommended.

How bout the free mercedez-benz amg vgt? I'm having some problems with that any tunes available for it? If I can't get that one working I was thinking Pug 908 FAP any tunes available for that as well?

I tried those for my mercedez and I can't get the specs right for the gear ratios for some reason? everything else works but I can't get the ratios right. TBH I have 1400+ miles on my mercedez and soon my body condition is going red this is the first race I had trouble with it possibly due to the body deterioration?.

Would you say the PUG 908 FAP is my best bet? and will it carry over to super GT as well? I'd like a nice le mans car like that but don't know if it's gonna be useful for super?

I also decided not to cheat for credits so my 4mil or so is a lot to me.

The Toyota Gt-one is one of the cheaper LMP's and you can detune it to run in the 650pp races. It's also pretty easy to drive

I used the Sauber Mercedes with none of them in the field, my main competitor was a Pug 905. Every race was easy except Nurburgring, but that is because of my sloppy driving. I used it with a turbo at Bathurst, Spa and Silverstone for the long straights. I ran the Pug 905 off the road at Spa and messed with him again at Silverstone all race long just for fun. I had a lead of over a hundred points by Nurburgring.
