Having fun trying different cars on the ring limited to Sports Hard tires and 500 PP. What do you think would be best car with these restrictions?

'02 NSX Type R is quite dominant and easy. Needs some suspension tuning.

I have seen the new M3 and Lotus Elan being driven crazy fast there, but i'm not sure how much it was about the car and how much about the drivers being aliens that had made the cars their own. :p

I personaly find the M3 to be bit heavy and sluggish but i haven't tuned it yet so it might respond well to tuning.

Xsara Rally Car <---- my favourite would be this
Trial Celica
Ford Focus RS
320i Touring Car
Drider Civic
Mugen Motul Civic
Integra Touring Car / Integra RM
Civic RM

Lancer Evo´s and Subaru WRX´s would be able too.

=> you see there are a few which are really good. You just have to try your favourite.

Thanks for your inputs, I will try some of those. Although it is probably me, I was slightly disappointed when I used a Lotus Elise 111R '03. My tune was probably terrible for the ring. My modest goal is to break 8'. It is amazing how much more challenging this is for me using SH compared to RS. I am still a relative Nurburgring Nordschleife noob, as I've probably completed a grand total of about 20 laps and have a lot to learn.

Ive been useing the 320i BMW touring car and can get round in 7.42 but with racing hards plus no driving aids

My current "Ring Runner" is the Nissan SKyline R34 V-Spec II Nur (Premium). Built for the 'Ring, driven for the 'Ring!

Although its not that "Crazy" mostly cause its AWD. Though a tuner can make it crazy, I know because I have!

Here is a another question for you experts:

Is car X (with RM, SH, and limited to 500PP) better, worse or the same as car X without RM but also having 500PP for the ring?

I forgot about that car (lost in the sea of my Skylines). With a name like that, I will definitely have to give it a go.

I think that the R34 is surprisingly slow. The 2010 Impreza is the 4wd machine for the ring even with only a litle tuning. :p

Agreed. For race wins or lowest laptimes my 2010 Impreza Sedan with no wings, sport hard tires and PP500 is unbeatable. However it's not much fun to drive...

Was going to suggest the lotus you used but well you tried it already.

I love this car for city driving but for some reason (beyond my meager driving skills) I can't do the ring well with it.

Edit: sorry about the repeat post, was trying to edit above post

And that's me being slow coz I've seen people with the same car doing 7.20s give it a go and let me know how you do or if you need any tuning tips for the bmw

i tryied with my 01 impreza rally prototype. I couldnt do it, not enuf power, at 500pp it didnt even have 300hp. Handeled fantastic as usuall but it just wouldnt go on the straites.

Sorry to hear that. Yeah, at least for me, I find this to be quite a challenge to be able to pack in enough handling and power in 500 PP to conquer the ring in under 8 minutes with SH tires. But, succeed or fail, I am having fun trying:)

That was with Rh but Sh isn't much difference and with no aids

7´55 with SH
7´35 with RH

not much difference huh?

Car had 256 bhp , 1140 kg , 472 PP and was directly driven from the UCD only with ABS=1

The difference you have found between SH and RH does not surprise me. Those are both very impressive times, congratulations.

Like I said not much difference both under 8 mins

Another good car would be the SUZUKI GSX-R/4 Concept ´01 , 171 bhp , 640 kg , 491 PP

This car can beat the 320i Touring.
