sorry to say it got canceled because of TXR3:irked:

I wouldn't get your hopes up. How many other games have come close enough to GT3 that you could even stand to play them? The more I practice in GT3 the more I hate all other racing games because I sit down and try to race, and the controls are unrealistic so it pisses me off and I stop playing. Project Gotham is a great example, because there's nothing else to it aside from racing and the racing sucks. Wreckless was awesome though, and Midnight Club II was fun for the first half of the game (until it got rediculously hard to where you just had to memorize every race until you could do it with your eyes closed, then try it over and over until there happens not to be any cars pulling out in front of you). Anyway, 'drifting' in either of those games isn't really drifting. 'Drifting' in GTA3 can be fun though. Get a Corvette and shoot out all four tires (not just the rear ones). Instant fun! =) I like going to the airport and doing figure-eights between the terminal posts and such.

has anyone played the initial d arcade game? is it good? lol i was at an arcade once and i was drifting in one of the racing games and it was so unrealistic but fun and this fat kid came and said "wow thats a cool skid how do you do that is it a secret level?" and i said "uh no it's not sorry"

the r racing revolution i think is what they call it
and in initial d i beat a initial d freak and his 86 with my gtr
muhahahahhahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahha.....
ahahahahah

I agree with Pergatory. GT3 is the only racing game I really enjoy. I picked up TXR3, and the physics suck, so no luck there. I am planning on getting R - Racing Evolution, but I don't hold much hope of it being anywhere near as good as GT3. I think I am going to have to go with GT4 on this one, even though it's not out yet, I'm sure it will be what I am looking for.;)

 Your all so funny, no one has a clue! It is Mario Kart, it is wicked crazy! All you have ot do is get Yoshi and you can drift until the fat lady comes home..... Or in most your cases the "ol lady".

kaidou battle is not that incredible, there really isnt any excitement like there is in gt3, TXR3 is a awesome game and if it had to be one or the other, well see ya kaidou.,
http://www.bakkayoma.com/artkive/game/kaido180_0001.wmv boring
http://www.bakkayoma.com/artkive/game/enkeiBE5_kaidou.wmv boring
^^ when i though kadou was just the ****.^^^
and drift champ is not worth discussion (although it IS a funny game and the story mode just never ends)

ditto on the gt4, when the jp realease anyways?

Kirkis, how can you say TXR3 is a good game. The physics suck, the graphix aren't anything to write home about, and all you do is drive fast on the freeway in a straight line, most of the time. I went through the game, started swapping engines, and so on. I was just waiting for it to get good, but it never did. You can't even pull off realistic drifts. I would trade my TXR3 for Kaido any day. At least in Kaido, you can drift.;)

yeah, what the hell was i thinking, kaidou gets like that too at times but its a heck of a challenging game for the better part. :) ill sell you mine for 20 bucks. seriously got extra copies galore.

 I thought I was the only one who did that. I wish they would make a game with a GTA-like city but with GT3-like driving dynamics and control. You could have closed-course races like they have in NFS and GT3, but also have the ability to drive around the city and explore if you wanted to. They could call it 'Gran Turismo: Underground.'.........just kidding. :D

I agree, but to do the engine swaps you either beat the game really fast, or played it a long time. The only time you could pull a good looking drift was in the rain. And my GT40 is not the best drifter in the game.

If you wanted to drift, you shouldn't have bought TXR 3 in the first place. Then again, it's always the paper-weight video game drifters that don't know jack about Wangan racing that put this game down.

Is it the games fault that you don't know how to setup a suspension?

Your that guy that buys a drag racing game, and complains that all you do is go in a straight line.

I know what wangan racing is, and I have played through the game twice, and unlocked engine swaps for my RX7, and my R32. I just did not get any satisfaction out of the game. Also, I know how to setup suspension for drifting, but that's not my issue with it. The way the physics are, and without any way to turn off traction control, is what causes the game to fall short IMO. It won't allow you to control your drift with the throttle, once you get sideways, there is no coming out of it. I didn't buy this game for drifting, but there shouldn't be any reason why I can't drift in it. Was GT3 made for drifting? No, but I can sure as hell drift in it. Drifting asisde, the game is just very lacking. Most mags, and shows that reviewed the game, gave it very low marks. So I wonder what you find so special about it?;)

What do I think is special about it? It offers a type of racing that no other game does.

The handling aspect is debatable, and the "physics suck" remark tells me you've yet to understand how to tune the cars sus. It's not GT3, no one said it was, so why compare it?

I'm glad alot of the Johnny come lately drifters don't like the game. It's one less thing for them to rape.

Well we are just going to have to agree to disagree. Johny come lately drifter? I hope your not refering to me? I have been drifting for over a year, and I can hold my own with most any drifter on GTP. It sounds to me that your just another grip racer that doesn't understand the art of drifting. I grip and drift, and I use grip racing as a base for drifting, so I have respect for both. It's too bad others do not show respect to all forms of challenging motorsports. Drifting is just more challenging, and I like a challenge. Also, no matter how well you set up the suspension the physics will still suck IMO. Everyone who reviewed the game, said "the physics are too floaty and unrealistic", so I have the profesional game reviewers on my side. I like a more realistic style game, usually, but I also like some arcade style racers. TXR3 is not a good example of either one. ;)

It is a Japanese version? How could I play it on my ps2? If you still have any extra copies, I might be interested.

You need a mod chip, or a swap disc. ;)

i was playing my friends kaido battle through a swap disc and the game seem tobe just like initial d but with no wheel and no story

You've been drifting for 1 year in the game, or irl? Either way, you fall into the Johhny come lately category.

You're right though, I probably don't "understand the art of drifting". Even though I started drifting my 89' 240sx hatch over 3 years ago.

I appreciate all forms of racing/driving. I just don't appreciate some of the drivers.

Merry Christmas! Hopefully Santa will bring you some tuning skills.

I'm talking about drifting in GT3, and if you want proof check out the vids in my sig. Are you telling me that you can perform realistic drifts using throttle control, braking, and countersteer, in TXR3? I'd like some proof. I wouldn't mind seeing some IRL vids either, otherwise your just blowing hot air. ;)
